  • Ended up getting a lease for 2.74 MF and .69 residual through gmac instead of ally, which ends up being about $1.50 more per month, but I wasn't going to fight it since I spent 4 hours at the dealership already. Got an SLT with MSRP of $35k for $199/mo, 24 mo, 10k miles, with $2000 down to pay all tags, taxes, etc. overall pretty happy. Thanks @Michaell

  • I think I meant GM financial instead of GMAC. Sale price of the car was $28,775 after rebates. Hopefully I did well...

The dealer gave me a call today and said I could trade in my 2012 lease for a 2014 lease. No down payment and a similar monthly payment. I'm currently paying $340/mo. 39 mo/12k miles. Looking at the deal Firebirdgirl posted above, it appears that I could get an even better deal than what I'm currently paying. Any advise to go about getting a better deal? Is it worth it to go into a new lease a year ahead of schedule?

What I like about getting out early? No worries about having to buy new tires, or other lease-end charges..

Looks like a pretty cheap lease for a car with that MSRP.

Good evening... new to the forum but I have read through the posts here and you are exceptionally helpful! I'm looking at my first lease on a 2015 SLE-2, 12k/year 24 months, minimum down.
I have a TrueCar guarantee price of $28,982 on an MSRP of $30,620 plus a dealer rebate of $1700. They quoted me 36 months (because they don't listen well) at 0.56 residual and a MF of 1.8... $355.57/month
I asked for the 24 month, and they came back with a 3.6 (?!) MF, 0.65 residual for $396.03

I'm not sure where to start back with negotiation... I have to roll some negative equity from my existing car in (about $2K) so i'm expecting about $100/month impact from that. I am good with up to $500/month. I'd like to get it closer to $450. Think I have any wiggle room anywhere (besides the trade-in)?

    Thanks!

The GM numbers we have expire today; new numbers will be released tomorrow and we hope to have them as soon as possible.

For the Terrain, I'm showing a 24 month, 12K miles per year MF as 3.6% and 67% residual with $1000 lease cash. 65% is the 15K residual (guess they still aren't listening).

With your MSRP and selling price, I calculate a $0 down pre-tax payment of $360.20.

As you've pointed out, the negative equity of $2000 will add about $83/mo to your payment. Then there is sales tax; that is determined by what state you live in.

You can use the pricing tools at the top of the page to help you determine what a good selling price should be.

Also, check out the "Real World Trade in Values" discussion here at Edmunds; we have an expert with access to auction info that will give you a pretty good idea of what your trade is worth - you might find you have less negative equity than you think (or what the dealer is telling you!).

Can you help me out to understand "lease cash" versus the $1700 incentive?

Lease cash is factory-to-dealer money that the Dealer can choose to pass along to the customer.

So If they are offering $1700, I should be happy with that, right? Or did they screw something up by giving me the $1700 instead of $1k and I'll get hit with it while signing papers?

Use the "Car Research" tab at the top of the page to get the current customer incentives available.

The $1000 lease cash is in addition, and you should work hard to negotiate a price that includes both.

We only have information from Ally, and I'm not showing any lease programs for 2014 Terrain models.

  • Kyfdx - Could you please provide MF and Residual info for Terrain Denali for NJ. I am looking for 24 month lease with either 12k or 15k miles / year. Thanks so much. I am looking to take advantage of costco program if that makes sense.
