Jeep Liberty roof leak

I have a 2003 Liberty. The roof leaks somewhere under the liner and migrates to the front and leaks through the dome light or visor attachment point. Yesterday the drivers seat was soaked. I don't have a sun roof and am suspecting the roof rack thinking there may be holes to attach it. I have since discovered stains in the roof liner and suspect this has been happening for a while. I am the second owner of this vehicle. Just wondering if anyone has come across this and what was the fix?

    the best thing to do is take a water hose and have someone soak the possibilities while you look...i had to replace the rear door seal for the issue in my CRD.
