    Here in Austin/San Antonio/Houston area,
I see plenty of MPVs with 4 season in dealer's
    inventory. (based on mazdausa.com & dealer's
    websites)
So "cold weather" reason is just an excuse.

yep I agree that is just an excuse...got 4 seasons south texas as well...dealer started in first with he couldn't find it

    Sorry for repeating this question.
Does anybody has anything (good or bad) to say
about their purchase at central texas (austin metro, san antonio) area mazda dealers.
I am getting ready to buy MPV this month.
So thought that I could use some good
    references (and avoid bad ones)

Agreed--aside from its quirky way of getting up to preset, it did the job. Once it was at speed,it stayed there. That part of it was a pleasure.

Thanks for the advice, but I already did that, which is why I'm looking for the covers. I went on a day when it was a blistering 117º in the direct sun in Phoenix, and those seats were HOT!!! In either the gray or tan! The cloth LXs sitting right next to the ESs were pretty hot too, but not as scalding as the leather.

If anyone has any info on nice seat covers that would accommodate the side curtain airbags, please let me know.

    Thanks! -TB

Sounds like you got a great deal on your van. Hope you don't mind if I ask if your transaction included dealer financing and if so what the rates were. With the new incentives how are they breaking down the cash back versus promo rates? Anyone out there know first hand? Thanks

Like a previous poster, I've heard the 2003's will be available anytime from mid-September to late October. The dealer cash incentive here (MA) is currently $1,500, which I assume we'd lose, and there might or might not be an MSRP adjustment since I understand the yen exchange rate has changed. Anyone have any reliable information? $1,500 doesn't seem to be enough for one year worth of depreciation. TIA

I didn't use any Mazda financing. $2k incintive is with no financing. You could get the special rates with a $1k incentive. Incidentially, the current incentives are customer rebates, not factory to dealer. I called Mazda USA to confirm. With customer rebate, my state's sales tax is figured on the cost of vehicle BEFORE the rebate is subtracted out of the price.

Sure you don't want to move closer to the relations down this way? There's a job opening you may want to check out:

But hurry, the link will probably die in a little while!

Thanks Steve, but I'm only a journeyman Elephant Juggler. I've been putting resumes in at bakeries. Everyone says I'm a good loafer...

(but I am gainfully unemployed! YAY!!)

Seeing that it was 100+ the other day, dunno if I could stand that heat.

I am in the process of buying an MPV but have some questions - can someone please help?
    1. Does the MPV require 5w-20?
    2. Does the MPV have platinum tipped spark plugs?
If not, what is the recommended tune-up interval?
    3. The local dealer is advertising $18,890 for an LX with no options except for floormats. Are there better deals out there ? The problem with this dealer is - hardly any choice on colors.

    Thanks.

We are getting the wetsuit type seat covers...we called the place and they have them for the MPV (which takes into account side air bags on the seat). These types of covers are a bit expensive and may not be what your looking for. We live near the beach so they are perfect....waterproof, durable, don't really get hot, nice looking.

I think they said the full set for the MPV was like $700!

If you are still interested though you can call them.

By the way, the price I quoted was in Northern CA (Bay Area).
If anyone out there is from the same area - is this a good deal ?

Thanks a bunch, BA! I appreciate your help. Those look pretty cool, and may be just what we need.

I keep checking Edmunds for incentives, but none come up here in the midwest(CIncinnati), can I use the knowledge that other regions are getting Mazda incentives to my advantage??
  • sd1228sd1228 Posts: 46
Edmunds does not have latest rebate information.
Nationwide mazda is offering 2000 $ cash back
    on MPV's for cash deal.
If you use mazda usa credit finance deal,
    cash back is 1000 $
  • Hi I'm thinking about getting an MPV ES and am not sure which options are "must haves". Top on my list are the 4 seasons package (I'm in midwest), the moonroof and the DVD. Does anybody know if getting both the moonroof and the DVD makes it crowed in the ceiling? How is the quality of the DVD system? I've not seen either the moonroof or the DVD on a dealer's lot.
I test drove one and it feels a little bit top heavy - any similar concerns?
    Any help is appreciated.

...the mazdausa.com site and see that they don't list any rebates or cash back - so Edmunds is technically correct ;).

But, Mazda does list 0% for 48 months with no payments until January '03. Wait, and the same for 60 months. Holy COW!

    Tinkywinky,

I just got my MPV with both a DVD and a moonroof, but they are dealer installed. They both fit on the ceiling without any crowding. Quality of both are fine. I don't know of anyone who has been able to get the factory-installed DVD, at least not around here (central NJ). Mazda leads you to believe it is available, but it really isn't.

I have seen a few MPVs with the factory installed moonroof, but trying to get one in combination with other installed options is the hard part.
