1995 Suburban Windshield Wipers

The wipers on my 1995 GMC Suburban appear to be possessed. They do not turn on when I flip the switch, they do not stop when I turn them off. I think that it is the wiper motor because it has extra sensors in it to signal the delay module. I have tested the column switch, but it looks O.K.. Has any one else had a problem with GM wiper motors ???

  • taylords1: yes I have had this problem with the wipers in 95 Chev Sub. This is on recall from GMC about 2 yrs. ago. They should replace the wiper circuit board mounted on the engine firewall. The cost of the board is around $58.00, but your dealer should replace it at no cost to you. I replaced mine after the same symptoms you described and it was fixed.
  • Thanks for the information. Turns out GM
recalled over 1.5 million cars and trucks with
bad wiper motors, and mine is one of them....
