This was my first lease...so hopefully I didn't get royally screwed.

    • MSRP: 64,375 (2014 535i, luxury line, drivers & drivers plus, premium)
    • INVOICE: 59,845
    • SELLING: 55,845

    • LEASE TERMS: 12k/36mo

    • RESIDUAL: 61%
    • MF: 0.00149 (3.57%)
    • FEES: 925
    • TAX: 6.25% (TX)
    • UPFRONT COST: 1750 (1st month + acquisition)
    • MONTHLY PAYMENT: $600 before tax, $706 with tax

    3 YEAR COST: $26433

I guess I could have done lowered the acq fee to 725 and MF back to base (0.0013), but this was their best offer.

Exactly .. though the up-front taxes in Texas don't help, either. You did OK, next time come find us before signing on the dotted line.

    ADJUSTED CAP COST: $58,004

DRIVEOFF: $6,080 (includes $4,900 for MSDs and 1st month's payment)

I will be signing the deal tomorrow. Any opinions? Thanks.

Have offer on table for 2014 328xi with MSRP of $60,725. 36 mo lease / 10k miles for $594 with 3k down. Is this as good of a deal as I'm being told?

The money I saved negotiating got drained by the 0.00149 MF. In hindsight, at the bare min. I should have got it for 0.0013 (675 in savings) or put MSDs down on the 0.00149 (1700 in savings).

Best case would have been 0.0008. A whopping 2400 bucks.

What is the negotiated selling price? Is this a 528xi? Your post says 328xi.

Sorry yes a 528i with negotiated SP of $54,058.59 . Current MF is at .00170

  • schmidthbschmidthb Posts: 10

I should mention GM showed me paperwork, claims to be making $1400 on this deal? I've tried to move on numbers and he claims to be at bottom. This is with a $1000 drive time offer factored in on top of $2500 build out inventive. Assume you'll advise that I push on MF, is this my best play or is there something else? I'm trying to get in mid 5's

Yes, push on MF to see how low they will go. The only variables are the MF or the selling price - dealers know this and will give on one or the other.

try contacting another dealer - healthy competition should work in your favor.

    535i - 68%. $1500 build out cash.

  • Hi, I am new and hoping someone can help me. I was quoted $589 a month with $3900 out of pocket. I have not seen what is in the $3900 yet because my salesperson is on vacation & I need to get a car quickly. It's a 2014, space gray 528xi with the premium, cold weather & driver assistance package & navi. 3 yr lease with 12K miles. I had a 2013 that was just totaled & this is the same pricing. Can someone tell me if this sounds reasonable? I don't have much time to shop around. I been using this same salesperson for the past 4 BMW's I've had so I'm hoping I can trust her. I will talk to her when she returns but wanted to do some homework first. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey, this forum definitely helped me a lot to understand all the aspects of leasing a BMW. Thank you to all the admins and commenters for sharing their details and providing such great info.

I wanted to share the details of a 2014 535i X Drive w/M Sport, Premium Package, Driver Assistance, Cold Weather. Dark Graphite Metallic and Nappa Leather multi contour seating.

Lease Term: 36 Months, 12K Miles

    MSRP: $67,950 Sale Price: $58,350

    Residual: 61% MF: 0.0013

Down Payment: $1,610 (First month, Registration & Tags)

    Monthly Payment with tax: $669

Dealer didn't really negotiate much as he dropped the price quite a bit but I budged him. Also tried to get the $925 acquisition fee down as I read that its a mark up by the dealer but salesmen said that $925 is the price.

    Any opinions?

You are a salesperson's dream. Spend $200 and rent a car for a week and get all of the details. MSRP, selling price, tax rate, state, and a breakdown of the $3900. With all of that information, you can get help making an informed decision.

Rushing into a lease of a $50K+ car is not a good idea.

Is $1544 the full amount due at signing? Is $582/mo. the full payment including taxes? Did they disclose the money factor? (base MF is .00130)

Guys, I need an advise.. Working on a leasing deal with local dealer. We are just few dollars off on purchase price, MF and MSDs and all are all good.

Then comes in to picture my Trade in BMW. I have 2012 BMW with trade in value approx 30K per KBB. so if I trade in, I don't want that to count toward my down payment. Do they still make one transaction, Cut me a check of 30K, and do leasing deal? I need to take advantage on Taxes.

If I am completely Off, please guide me on how to work with this situation. I appreciate in advance.

Dealer is giving me 7500 of MSRP and its tempting. THANK YOU

Yes.. .you can have them cut you a check for your trade-in... that shouldn't affect any tax credit, if indeed you are eligible for one.. Whether they cut you a check or use the proceeds towards your lease should not matter.

Finalizing my 5-series lease. After all negotiations down to these 2 options:

Am eligible for the following discounts: $1,000 drive event $1,000 new grad rebate. Both for 10k miles/yr for 36 months. No cap reduction down payment, only tax/reg/fees unfront

    1. [Option 1]: 2014 528xiAlpine White/Cinnamon, Cold Weather, Premium, Park sensor, Rear camera. MSRP $58,050 Discount $10,025** Final $48,025** Upfront $2,769 for tax/reg/fees $436/month
    2. [Option 2]: 2014 535xd Metallic White/Cinnamon, Cold Weather, Premium, Driver Assist MSRP $64,785 Discount $11,405 Final $53,380 Upfront $3,087 for tax/reg/fees $508/month

Total cost of ownership analysis over 3 yrs: Annual 10k miles (7k drive to work/city/hwy @mix MPG and 3k roadtrips @ hwy MPG) Gas prices: Midgrade $4, Diesel $4.20 in NY

    528xi total lease+tax payments = $18,141, gas $4,596. Total = $22,737 for 3 yrs

    535xd total lease+tax payments = $20,940, gas $4,216. Total = $25,156 for 3 yrs

So the diesel 535xd w/ awesome torque will cost me $2,419 more over the 528xi in 3 yrs. Trying to justify it to the wifey :)

Leasing a diesel doesn't make sense; I've found that it takes 5-8 years to recoup the up front premium that a diesel charges.

Thanks Michaell for the feedback. The 535d diesel vs 528i gas is more of a 6 cyl w/ huge torque vs 4 cyl. argument. I also have a '13 X3 28i and honestly did not find much excitement in 528i vs X3. Now 535s were awesome power. Total cost of 535i came out slightly ~$400 more than 535d over 3 yrs. So not really a financial argument. I am paying $2400 extra for 535d over 528i when looking at total cost of car+fuel over 3 yrs

Use the Car Research tab at the top of the page to determine what incentives are available. Edmunds also provides pricing information that will help you determine your target price.
