We bought a 2014 honda odyssey elite and notice that when the tailgate goes up automatically it jerks as it goes up. Has anyone else seen this? If so what did you do?

Atleast yours opens. I've got a 2014 Touring. I've had the tailgate jam multiple times with my stuff locked in. I kept searching forums to see if anyone else was having this issue and I'm glad to see someone else having an issue with Tailgate. I've taken it into the dealer several times but the issue keeps coming up.

The buttons to open automatically don't work and even manual open doesn't work at times so the contents are stuck inside the back of the mini-van. This has ruined a recent trip for us when we couldn't remove a stroller/jogger and had to drive back with the "CHECK TAILGATE" light on the dash and I was afraid it was going to flip open in the middle of the freeway.

First time it happened I had less than 100 miles on the van. I took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't determine what caused it and simply reset it and it works.

Then it happened again a month later and I took it in and they said the mechanic couldn't replicate the issue. When I drove the van in, the individual that took the van tried things multiple times and it seemed kind of odd that the mechanic all of a sudden doesn't have the issue. I suspect the door was reset again

Third time I took it in, I asked for the mechanic and showed it to him and he said this is the first time he's been able to replicate the issue and said he replaced an opener in the door. This was last week. I have the issue again today.

This is definitely not giving me a good impression of the Odyssey. I have just over 1000 miles on the van. I'm thinking either my dealer is incapable of fixing it and I should take it to a different one or call Honda to investigate if there's an issue.
