Michaell... thank you for all of your help. As of now, I think i'm abandoning the idea of a Forester lease and looking at CPO Acura's.

Hello thanks to forum for the assist as we took delivery last eve.  2015 2.5 premium with msrp of $26782 and invoice of $25100.  Monthly payment of $280 on a 36 mos 10k lease.  Due at signing was $422 broken down as first mos pmt plus title and plate fee in wi.  Dealer rolled 595 acq fee, 189 doc fee, 89 govt fee into lease.  The negotiated price was invoice less the 2% holdback plus the roll ins.  How did we do? Since we took the holdback out of dealers pocket , I could not readily ID where they were making any money outside the 189 doc fee? Was there any lease cash?

  • jimziggjimzigg Posts: 11

On the above deal I forgot to mention that the payment of $280 includes 5.6% wi sales tax.

  • Hi,
Could you please let me know the MF and residual for 2015 2.5i and 2.5i premium, both cvt for 24 month/15k and 36 month/15k. Are mileage allowances more than 15k possible / recommended. I live in Minneapolis (55446)

    .00127 MF and 60% residual for 2.5i

.00132 MF and 61% residual for Premium

    24 month leases aren't competitive..

15K/yr is the highest offered. If you drive more than that, then leasing may not be for you.

  • Thanks for the response. Much appreciated.
  • Hi, I got a quote of 25336 for VIP pricing - equal to dealer invoice supposedly (taxes & fees not included). 0.00182 mf and 61% residual for 2.5i premium CVT (had all weather package (no eyesight)) 36 months lease. Adding 6.5% tax and USD 300 fees bought the per month to USD 350 (inline with what was quoted by the dealer, they didn't give me any paperwork in hand). Is this a good quote for VIP pricing?
    Thanks
  • Hi, sorry...missed out the msrp - 27114 (tax and fees not included). 25336 for VIP pricing - equal to dealer invoice supposedly (taxes & fees not included). 0.00182 mf and 61% residual for 2.5i premium CVT (had all weather package (no eyesight)) 36 months lease.

With your numbers, I get a pre-tax payment of $320.56, so $350 with tax seems about right.

Thanks. As the mf (0.00182) seems high compared to what was indicated in the forum (0.00132), I just wanted an opinion as to why the mf is high as I understood it was standard. Thanks

It can be marked up by the dealer for extra profit.

    .00117 MF and 64% residual.

Use the Car Research tab at the top of the page to look for incentives.

    How is this deal:
    2.5 limited with nav
    Msrp $31500
    Sales price $29,000
Bank fee and NYC taxes rolled into pmt
    36 mos/10k miles
    $350/month
$700 due at signing = 1st pmt, plates, and govt fees.

2015? Seems high. With MF of .00117 and residual of 64%, I get a payment of around $254/mo. Adding in $1500 for acquisition fee and taxes (I assumed around 8%), the payment is around $296/mo.

Ask them for the CAP cost.

Cap cost is $29k plus $595 bank fee plus tax at 8.875 percent. My lease calculator was coming up with $350ish. Are you sure it should be $300?

Most calculators can't account for taxes that are paid upfront and added to the CAP cost. How much are you assuming for taxes? Or, maybe I made a mistake..

Taxes have to be added into the CAP cost in NY.. If we have a solid CAP cost number, we can calculate... I can't get back to the number I had before, so I probably had an input error, as well. (maybe an extra zero in my MF).
