New 2014 328i with

  • M sport pkg
  • Estoril blue
  • Lighting pkg
  • Sport shift paddles
  • Heated seats
  • Moonroof

Priced at $39755

At this price is it advisable to buy or lease ?

Lease : I have no idea as I never leased before.
I'm not sure about the terms.

So if you suggest lease what might good terms assuming I'll go for 36 month / 10k miles per year with minimal down. Is it necessary to take the accident protection coverage ?
Btw I live in the SF bay area.

Is it also good to go for the tire protection ?

Thanks in advance...

    You should be able to get the same price for the vehicle, whether you buy or lease.

    I would not purchase any extra "coverage". On average, those plans make a lot more money for the dealership and the insurance company than they do you.

    @g_s24, welcome to Edmunds!

    I usually drive a car forever so I've never much looked into leasing. The big reasons to lease are to lower a monthly payment or to make it easier to drive a new car every two or three years. But generally those perks will cost you more than buying.

    And it seems that lots of BMW owners don't want to own them after the warranty runs out.
