Dash Icons on a 2003 New Beetle

I have a Beetle, 2003 with turbo. There's a light on the dash that I can't figure out. I've tried googling it, but can't seem to find it. It's in the lower left corner of the dash. It's amber in color. It's shaped like my car and has an arrow that looks as if it's coming from the back window. When I first saw it, I thought maybe it was an indicator that the trunk was open, however, the trunk is securely latched. I confess, I'm not a car savvy person. Any ideas on what it means?

Is the car symbol a front view, or side view?

If it's a front view, does it look like a big screw coming out of the side of the car?
