Lemon laws are automobile consumer protection laws that in most states are very powerful. Thirty days in the shop is the magic number in most states. With this many days in the shop under 18,000 to 24,000 miles you can get most of your money back. I had 20,000 miles on my car, sued VW and got 95% of my money back. My attoney fees were only $500. If you live in California, we could talk about your options. I'm happy to give you the name of my lawyer too. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I'm pleased to help
If you don't live in California, not to worry. Your state has a lemon law too. Here is a link that summarizes every state's lemon law http://autopedia.com/html/HotLinks_Lemon2.html
This process is not as horrible as it sounds and at the end you get to go buy a new trouble free car. Or you can get another cabrio.
Hope this helps. Hang in there.
