    The trouble with a taller axle ratio is that you often find the gearbox shifting down more often on hills. Any advantage in mileage is probably only achievable under EPA conditions on a dead flat road at sea level.

    Forgot to say that I think averaging 17+ mpg in this truck is pretty good.
