I wasn't referring to your post, I was saying it in general. There are trolls out there that just like to stir things up by throwing out ridiculous deals. Don't know why people just don't automatically put the dealer name in after they have cut their deal to help others.

Hi, I would like some feedback on the following deal which was after 2 hours of negotiation in person.  This is in Indianapilis, IN

    2015 EX-L
    price $24,827
    ttl $1737
    tire fee $1.25
    doc fee $149
    total $26715

this didn't include remote start, nav, all weather mats, etc.  I told him I'd buy for closer to $25,000, which was refused so I walked. I feel I could do much better. Brian, what should I be aiming for below invoice and a good price OTD? I planned to email several dealers ready to buy with "x" price proposed OTD.

    thanks!

$1500 to 2000 below invoice is where you want your deal to be in July. Your deal is 1990 below invoice minus dealers doc fee charge. This puts you in that target area.

A lower PRICE will involve getting more dealerships involved, Pitting one dealer against the next and buying the last 2 days, last day of this month.

    GOOD LUCK.

i got it for 20400 otd without accessories. in DFW are. Searched a bunch of dealership here and most including eagle vandergrif said it is ridiculous price. The best quote i got was from rusty wallace. reason i mention them is coz they gave the best straigh forward price of 19698 with accesories. OTD 212278.29 whcih was the lowest with accesories. with this price i called john eagle and vandergriff they said if someone is giving u with this price get it right away they cant compete with this low price. on the side i was also visiting mcdavid they keep on accepting my offer on phone and email and then when i get there start negotiating up typical dealership style. I had 3 very stressing negotiation visit with mcdavid which were very stressful. after interchanging a bunch of angry emails with new car sales manager he finally gave his last offer of 18856 and otd 20400 but without any accessories, as i was paying cash i went for this deal (dealer lost some incentives coz i did not finance from honda). Just got windows tint for 250. and will get splash guard in a week or so. Any suggestions where should i get splash guards in dfw area.

Hi Brian - thanks so much for the reply. The best quote I've gotten so far would involve a drive to Ohio buts it's 23,591.91 + Tax @7% 1651 = 25,243 +250 doc +33.50 tire = $25526 however I am not sure this truly included title and license fees since its out of state and I'm afraid they'll switch this on me once I arrive. What can I do to prevent this? I'd like to send a final email asking for this
price with remote start. This would be across 20 or so dealers in IN OH and KY, do I have a shot? What do you think I could do for bottom price? I've been able to get 5 dealers to match previous quote of 26715.

     Very much appreciate your help!

    2015 Accord Sport CVT - DFW 07/18
    20880, ~2500 off invoice and .9%
6.25% tax, did not pay doc or other fees
AW mats, mud guards, trunk mat, coupon for four oil changes

I had a $1000 damage waiver offer from Honda for my Civic Hybrid lease if I purchased a new Honda, which had $860 in damage from being rear ended. I got a check for that months ago; so, I effectively got the car for 20020 before taxes since I didn't have to fix it.
Came off the truck just before I got there (I think that's cool for some reason)

I used the lowest price on this forum for a Sport, ~20k, which I assume is a 6MT and added for the auto. I think I got a good deal. Thanks to the forum for the info.

    Which dealership did you use?

    2 ways you could CYA

1- Have dealership do a faxed bill of sale to you holding with a security deposit till you get down to the dealership.

2- I would ask the manager to send it in a email conformation with a breakdown of the deal ( color , model VIN # etc ) of vehicle in question, make sure mgr. puts his/ her name on this email.

Before you ask dealer for this info you have to negotiate the remote starter price.

@brian125 Is this a great deal for a lease? Can it go lower? The quote is for a 2015 accord LX Coupe automatic in CA, $266.70 mo. no money down, including taxes. Quote #2 is the detailed breakdown that I requested. Thanks again for your guidance!

one more question for the group - with the 2016 accords coming out late august or early september, are people waiting for the 2016 (or closer to the release date to purchase 2015)? Originally was going to purchase by the end of the month but wondering what others think given the new release is less than a month away.

Invoice w/ destination on the LX model = $21,786. If you could buy the LX @18,561 and it includes the $820 destination charge your deal is @3225 dollars below invoice. This would give you Top bragging rights of the best deal ever made in this forum.

Be careful it sounds to good to be true. Double check dealers numbers before going there.

    Invoice On the LX model = 20,996 plus destination 820 = $21,786

Please let me know if this price is true. I may want to buy 3 LX Accords and sell them here in the NY area. Good deals here in this area are ranging from only 1000 below invoice to maybe a very good deal of 1500 below dealers invoice price.

This indeed was the case. They quoted 20200 OTD for honda accord LX. But I also kind of liked the EX. Price on EX was 21,229+ 250 ( doc fees)+ 33.50 (title fees). Total OTD was 23000 for EX. I needed sometime to think over that so may be I will think today and buy EX tomorrow. Do you think its good price on EX?
I was not able to see lot of LXs on the lot but they may have many in the back as she bought one to show me from back.

    andmilne - What dealership in Ohio did you get the EXL quote (23,591.91 + Tax @7% 1651 = 25,243 +250 doc +33.50 tire = $25526)? Thanks.
It was at Honda East.I tried to take this quote to four dealerships in Indiana and not one would budge from the 26500 range. I offered to purchase at 26500 if remote start was thrown in, and also would not budge. What gives? They tried to tell me the quote above didn't include freight and it was an impossible deal but I've seen many here buy the EX-L for the price of 26100 w remote start and other options. They keep telling me they'll lose too much money. One dealership offers a lifetime power train warranty. Is this worth an extra $1000? Do I have any shot at them changing their minds on the 31st?
All of them have pretty much laughed at my quote from Ohio saying it's not possible. But I'm not ok work paying 26500 knowing they could at least meet me halfway with the cheaper quote. Thoughts?

OTD pricing Consists of your States sales tax , dmv fee's and dealers doc fee charge. There probably are a few other small charges like Tire disposal fee in some states or a Internet charge, etc. Have dealers breakdown your OTD pricing. Remember every state nets a different OTD # due to these prices.

LX model most likely will net you a better deal cause most dealerships still have plenty on there lots. EX models might not be as many resulting in a smaller savings.

A good target price range for the end of this month is $1400 to as low as 2k plus below dealers invoice.

In FL. getting that best price of 2k plus below Invoice may be very hard. You will need to work for that number pitting dealers against each other/ finding dealers with a lot of stock on there lots, or finding that 1 or 2 dealers at months end needing final sales incentives. A good deal will fall in between that price range.

    Good luck

    Brian,

I received the following deal this morning for an Accord EX w/ CVT (including tint, wheel locks, splash guards, door edge guards, trunk mat, and nitrogen-filled tires) from Crown Honda in Pinellas Park, FL.

    Quoted Price 21,555
    Doc Fee 697
    Taxable Fees 55.5
    Tax 1,388.45
    Non Tax Fees 152.00
    OTD Total 23,847.95

This is the lowest number that I was able to get from any Orlando-area dealers willing to give me quotes over the phone or email. I'm going to try to get them to go a little lower by seeing if they will split the doc fee with me but I think this is a pretty good deal and I'm leaving town at the end of this week, so I can't wait until the very end of the month. What do you think? Thanks!

    Hi Brian,

The best price in Indy I've been able to get it 26000OTD with no accessories or added features. I cannot seem to get any lower than this. I found a deal in Ohio for 25500 but am not sure it's worth the hassle of an hour and a half drive to save 500$ (also the 26000 deal includes lifetime powertrain warranty). I am not sure that this is a good deal for the 26000$ no accessories based on posts I've seen here. Am I better off to wait a month until the 2016 comes out, or do you think it will drop anymore? Is this a good deal?

This includes splash guards, Honda remote start would be $496 extra.  I would be buying out of state so would have to transfer the title and wouldn't be able to take advantage of their 20yr/200000 mile warranty. Do you think I can do better than this? Or if I do wait? Like I said staying in state I can't get lower than 26OTD no accessories. I'd also not be getting the lifetime power train warranty but if I use the 660$ savings towards the 100/7yr/0 Honda care plan (850$) is that a wiser choice?

    Thanks

@brian125 can you please use your Magic 8 Ball on the EX quote (the full breakdown is on the accord lease thread) :) Which offer do you think is best. In your opinion, is the EX worth the extra cost?

Andmilne- thanks for posting.  I got the same deal as you quoted but up here in Cleveland. Sucks that your local dealers won't match.  I have the same question is whether a better deal can be had in a month before the 2016s come out but I think the quote I received are too good to pass up. Debating between the V6 or 4 cyln exl.

This is is based on 6.5% tax, 250 doc fee, acq fee and 33.50 for tags.
     (OTD) - $27,258.75 on the EX-L V6 and $25,243.71 on the EX-L.

Hoping no bait and switch when I go to the dealer.

Need model , doc fee charge, agreed selling price, etc??? If you wait another month or two pricing will drop in your area. Buying the 2016 model may not be a big savings.

    2015 Honda Accord EX-L

    Sale Price    23400.00
    Doc Fee           250.00
    IN Tax            1655.50

Your above deal is a dandy at $3416 below invoice. Most dealers in your area wont touch this price, A 20 year warranty.... lol . There are not many everyday 20 yr old cars being driven with warranty. Don't worry about this warranty your not missing out.

Play out this month with your local dealers to see where end of month pricing takes you then decide. Do I drive the hour and half to save $$$ ? or do I buy local for X dollars. The real negotiations and deals should heat up by July 30th and 31st.

Both are good deals. You have to decide if paying the extra money for the upgraded EX model is worth it to you.
you will be driving this vehicle every day not me. For me personally I like the EX model for its features and lane watch.

For the Accord coupe, the base LX-S trim is similar to the LX sedan but comes with 17-inch wheels instead of 16s, while its audio system has six speakers instead of four. The coupe's EX trims are also comparable to the sedan's in terms of equipment, though the V6-powered EX-L has 18-inch wheels.

    Continued,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,LX and EX features,

The base four-cylinder LX comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, full power accessories, cruise control, an 8-inch infotainment display, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a rearview camera, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a height-adjustable driver seat, a one-piece folding rear seat and a four-speaker sound system with a CD player, an auxiliary audio jack, an iPod/USB audio interface and Pandora Internet radio control.

Opting for the Sport trim brings a bit more horsepower, 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, an eight-way power driver seat (with power lumbar) and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with shift paddles for the CVT (continuously variable transmission).

The Accord EX also builds off the LX, but in lieu of the Sport's features adds 17-inch wheels, heated mirrors, a sunroof, keyless ignition and entry, the power driver seat, the leather-wrapped steering wheel, Honda's LaneWatch blind-spot display and a six-speaker sound system.

Brian125- do you think the deals next month can beat the deal andmilne and I received?

I cant recall your deal but @andmilne deal is off the chart ....out of this world deal. $3400 below invoice price. I don't think I ever seen a price that low EVER going into August. I remember back in 1997 and 1998 there were a few deals like this. I'm still a little suspect about that price but lets wait and see if poster pulls the trigger for that price. I'm betting the destination charge of $820 is not being disclosed.

Actually your deal was over 2500 below invoice minus the dealers doc fee. Another awesome deal. but nowhere near 3400 lol. Buy the vehicle this month don't look back. dealer is looking for sales numbers. Next month that same dealer may not be discounting his inventory like this month.

2200 to 3000 below invoice are end of the year numbers in some states. Getting this kind of deal in July / August are exception deals on a Honda Accords. There are many states that getting 2k plus will never happen all year.

So for all you fortunate Edmunds buyers in these select states .....ENJOY the savings

    Hi Brian,

Thanks for helping all of us in negotiating the good deal. You also helped me in getting good deal on LX but when I went to the dealership, I thought of taking EX. They quoted me this price for EX:

    Sale Price 21229.00
    Doc Fee 250.00
    IN Tax 1613.4
    Title Lic 33.50

Total 23123 (They can take off 100 more off but not more than that)

I talked with 2-3 more dealers and they are not willing to touch this price. Please let me know if this is good or should I wait for 1-2 weeks. Thanks.

    Hi Brian!

First off, thanks so much for helping everyone here! First time auto purchase & doing it pretty much solo! Here is the breakdown of my current quote in which I was very close to signing & driving tonight. However financing HQ was already closed by that time so I chose to come back another day.

2015 Honda Accord EX-L Sedan V4 (Houston, TX)
    MSRP 29,240

Total Sales Price = 24,200 (price matched from 24,720)
Accessories = 962 (trunk tray, mud guards, wheel locks, tint, nitro tires)
    TX Tax 6.25% = 1,573
    Title & Lic = 291
    VIT = 65
    Final Drive Out/OTD = 27,091

My main questions would be... given I haven't already gone too far in the process.. if it would be beneficial for me to wait until the end of the week to finalize the purchase and around how much could I push down if so?

Second, I feel the accessories are way overpriced.. $400+ for tint? Again if I am not already in too deep, would it be worth it to try to get the accessories (at least the tint) added in for free rather than having to find a different model without the accessories?

Any another suggestions or tips in this stage of the process? Thanks!!!

This deal is at 2616 below invoice minus dealers doc fee charge. Its a very good deal. what hurts this deal is the over priced accessories at $962. I would not walk away from this deal. Call dealer tomorrow tell them to split the cost of the over priced accessories and you will buy it today. Even If you have to hang up and let dealer stew all day w your counter offer. I would put the bug in there ear that the dealer down the block has the same model you want without all those overprice accessories in vehicle. This is how you play the game. Don't forget......Tell dealer I will buy vehicle right now split the cost.

Online cost for splash guards = $67, wheel lock $36, tint 100, trunk tray $90, nitro free, so you know dealers cost is lower than what I posted. splitting the cost is a fair counter for both dealer and you.

BTW : which one of those 2 pretty girls in that picture is the negotiator left or right. :)

    Good luck

I am going Friday to pick up the car, they have asked for a 500$ deposit to hold the car. They stated in email it was refundable if the car isn't as promised (has a weird vibration, doesn't drive well, etc) or if the numbers are in fact not the amount stated OTD. There is only one car left in my desired color combo. Have others left a deposit to hold an Out Of State car before? Do you see any issue in getting a refund from my bank if it's not as promised and I have aforementioned email? I am a little nervous about this.

I will definitely come back and let you know all the details if it pans out.

    Thanks,

@andmilne Put the deposit on a credit card (not a debit card). I've never had any issues getting deposits back, but if it's on your credit card, you can just dispute the charges.
