out of your 3K down how much was the capital reduction/downpayment?

Edmunds has the rates going at 5.9% for new 5 series. Is this correct? I would think BMW would be lowering them to try and get rid of the 2010's left on the lot. Also, are there any special rates for used 5-series? Thanks
  • Was just quoted $38.8k for a 2009 CPO 528xi (14k miles, monaco blue ext, beige leather, premium, cold weather pkg, ipod connection). Original warranty good till 01/2013 (CPO 01/2015). Dealer will also take care of my current vehicle (2007 328xi lease, 3 payments left).

Is it an acceptable deal? Want to go ahead in the next day or so, and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

this appears to be a good deal, especially taking your lease (which I assumes absorbs your last 3 payments, what about your security deposit?). a 2010 with your options is probably $10k more.

I am a huge fan of the CPO route. You will save $10k, and actually get a longer warranty.

Very good deal. Ditto on CPO is the way to go.

Not sure its a great deal. With the incentives on the 2010 528xi you can buy a new one for $43-44K (carsdirect price) with all the options you have outlined. Buying a car with 14K miles and one year older for 5K less than new.
  • smithsongasmithsonga Posts: 123
I use carsdirect and get $47k. Maybe you are not selecting the 528xi and just the 528i? :confuse:
  • phylpphylp Posts: 49
Factoring into the deal the value of getting out from under the last three lease payments, and even at "only" a $5K discount from new (money is money), the miles and slightly more age on the CPO leaves a very good deal IMHO. It's a BMW. :)

I just ran it on carsdirect. 2010 528xi with premium package and navigation is. MSRP is 51975, invoice is 48360 and cars direct price is 43585. There is a 5,000 incentive on the 2010 528xi because the 2011's are a redesign. I have spoken to dealers on the phone and have gotten a price of $44K. I live in northern, nj.
  • Thanks everyone for your comments. Much appreciated.

I agree with Joe24; I can get a brand new one for around $44k. However, I don't want to spend more than 39-40k, so I think I'm going to pull the trigger (I love the color as well, monaco blue/beige, so...) on this one.

Now one other question. I have a 3.4% APR from my credit union. Is there any chance I can now score a better rate at the dealership?

Hi! I just bought a 2010 528xi with premium package and value package for a little bit under what you see at CarsDirect.com. According to Yahoo Autos, there are still quite a few 2010 528xi (92 as of today) to be sold in Metro Detroit area. The price could come down even further. But, I pulled the trigger anyway.

    1. This car is not getting cheaper because of the thin margin unless BMW is willing to pay dealer more. Any further cut will squeeze 3-series sales.
    2. Stocks market is doing relatively well recently and dealers or BMW will hold off any more inventive.
    3. 2011 xi models won't arrive in the US until Spring 2011.
    4. There are not many good AWD choices in this class. 528xi is possibly the most affordable and most fun to drive at this point.
    5. The new 2011 model does not appeal to me. I do not want to wait for another 7 years just to get this bargain.

So far, I am enjoying this car every second when I am in it.

    FYI

If your credit is great and am financing over 30k, Bank of America is offering 3.2% for a 60 month loan.

Thats the rate I got a few weeks ago when I picked up my 535i.

Unless you are going to keep the car for a long time, the actual price difference between 2010 new and 2009 CPO is much smaller than $5K. According to Edmunds, the trade-in value of a 2007 525xi is $23,903 vs. 2006's $19,331. (i.e., a difference of $4,572). So, you will likely recoup most of the $5K difference when you trade in the car.

I just pulled trigger on 2010 535xi with value, premium, nav and siruis. MSRP 57,670 and I got it for 47,500. Cars direct was 47,800. I think we would have went lower if I picked on from the lot. He had to get it so probably left 500 on the table. How was the deal? I know 2011's are coming out but at this price I would have to get the 528. Monaco Blue with beige/black interior.

    I need some help.

Was looking at a 2008CPO and the dealer showed me this??

The deal is a 528xi, 2010 dealer loaner with 10k miles. Plat grey w/ black Dakota leather.

    It's list is 51,825 incl destination,\options;
    prem, value package
    split rear seat
    heated rear seat
    sat radio

The dealers first offer is 41,850.

Any suggestions? Like to get it below 40k and CPO.
  • I believe you can negotiate down to 36K of the price with 10K miles on the car or wait until April 30 when incentive is going to expired.
  • joe24joe24 Posts: 12
It will be hard to get the CPO. You can buy that care new for about $43K today so you shouldnt buy it for anything more than $38K.

    Joe:

Could you tell me the Dealer you got this price from on the new 5 series.

Also would need your folks advice on one of the used car I looked from a private party

BMW 5 series, premium package, sports, navigation, miles on it 30K....its a 2008 model and the warranty is going to expire in 16 months.

So would need your advice if its worth buying for 30K?

    Thank you,
