I got quoted $33,400 OTD for following 2011 SR5. It has convenience package (3rd row seats), cargo cross bars and floor mats. From what I can see from the car report, there is a destination charge of $810, TDA $660, Dealer Holdback $626 and Financial reserve of $312. Dealer cost is $32528.60, so I'm paying just slightly under $900. Thinking hard about pulling the trigger. Just waiting for another quote to compare.
  • Not sure if this helps, but for comparison purposes, I just bought a '11 SR5 for a similar price at Boch in Norwood, MA (rough experience....but I'm pleased with the price), including convenience package (no third row) but with heated leather installed, cargo cross bars (amazing that these are extra now), mats, for $33,000 + TTR. My own financing. DLR msrp $35,113; not sure about invoice though, so I based my offer on Edmunds TMV to get a gut check on invoice.
  • Bought a 2011 Magnetic Gray SR5-4WD with premium package (leather, blue tooth etc.), moon roof, running boards, mats, towing ball, 3M paint shield, paint sealant and Nitrogen filled tires (a gimmick in my opinion) for $33,200 +TTL from Ray Brandt Toyota in Metairie, LA. They were the only dealer in this area to have it in stock and gave a good price to start the negotiating process. Got financing from the dealer at 2.60% pa, but that was because they wanted to beat the 2.99% pa I had from my Credit Union. Also, got the 8y/100k extended warranty for $1039 extra, a price that they matched which I had got from Midwest Motors in KS.

Basically, I think I got a good deal, but spent a lot of time researching the market and the prices.

MODERATOR - if publishing the dealer's name is against the board rules, please delete that reference. Thank you.

  • Sounds like a good deal. What was the MSRP with all the options?
  • It was around $37,620 or something. The actual invoice price was very close to $34,300 ish.

I think their bigger profit was in the trade-in I made. I sold them my 2003 Honda Pilot with 70250 miles for $6275. It was fine except needed three new tires, balance, align and some paint touch up. Inside was very clean.
    Blackbook value: $4,010 - $6,745
Autotrader.com valued it around $7,200 ish.
Edmunds and Kbb was higher, but the max that I got at other dealers was $6275 and I let RayBrandt have it at that price. However, they said that they will not send it to auction but recondition it and sell it in their used lot. I think their profit is there.

Good luck with your search, if you are in the market.
  • Traded a 2010 taco on a 11 runner...
Taco - SR5 prerunner, low miles, towing, JBL and Bluetooth
Runner - SR5, third row, backup camera, running boards, tint, all weather mats
OTD Diff of $8100 including 7% GA tax, tag, and title

works out to able 24000 trade and 31000 for the runner...

    Heavy on the trade.
  • Just bought 2011 SR5 Magnetic Grey 4x4 with Premium Package + Moon Roof + Cross Bars + Floor Mats + Auto Dimmer Mirror with Camera for $32904. That is before Proc Fee ($379) and taxes.
    OTD $34415
I believe that is $1200 below invoice.
    This in Washington DC Area
  • Hello, I'm new to this forum. I am in the market for a white 2011 4runner limited w/nav, edmunds.com says that the msrp is $42,065 and invoice is $38,649. I'm located in the Chicagoland area. I'm wondering if anyone has purchased a limited in my area, if so from where, and what was the purchase price and options. I'm trying to figure out what would be a good purchase price before ttl. Thanks in advance for any help.
  • I am not from the Chicagoland area, and of course YMMV depending on the area. However, I think $1000 below the invoice should be a good price. Don't hesitate to expand your search area to find the best deal.

    Good luck.
  • Great price. Maybe you can post the name of the dealer and the salesperson you dealt with for others in your area.

    Enjoy!
  • Jim Brotherton at Alexandria Toyota.
I first received quotes through truecar.com first.
There were a couple of dealerships matching truecar.com price.
Alexandria Toyota beat truecar by $500.
By the way I went for the price but the service was exceptional as well.
Was not rushed into anything and was not offered to buy anything extra.

I barely see any new 2011 models on the road. Why is that?
  • jtinerjtiner Posts: 4
I'm seriously considering the 2011 SR5 and have been researching pricing, etc., but I've been unable to locate any 4Runners with the third row seat.
There's plenty of inventory (25 vehicles or so) around the area (central Maine) but not a single one with third row seats. I haven't heard back from Toyota regarding this...
Anyone have any idea why that particular option seems to be unavailable?

I paid $33,984.55 for the truck, then went in for the Toyota 7 year 75K extended warranty for $1,000 after having my arm twisted enough by the step-into-my-office for the hard-sell finance guy (Good guy with whom I actually had a good conversation. And I'm pretty happy with that warranty deal and had researched on this forum and other places prior).

I used AAA buying service, which is the same as TrueCar and Zag. Dealt with a seasoned truck salesman--straight shooter--at Koons Tysons Toyota in outside DC. Good experience. Quote below:

I'm interested in getting a SR5 with Convenience Package & Premium Package (sunroof & leather seats).

Can anyone recommend a good dealership/dealer contact near NY Metro Area? And how much should I be expected to pay for it? I've got a quote from one dealer and it seem very high. :confuse:

    Thanks for helping me :)
  • This was our 5th Toyota purchase but at a new lot.

MSRP was $44,600 (New 2011 Limited, Blizzard Pearl, Black Int., Nav, Running Boards, and 3rd row). We bought at what they said was invoice,

So, after taxes, $399 doc fee, and our trade it came out to be $42,000. We were happy b/c finding a Pearl w/ Black Int. is impossible w/ a 3rd row.

OTD = Out the Door Pricing
  • seai123seai123 Posts: 7
Was out at a dealership the price for the car for the Limited with sunroof, 3rd row and nav was about 44k, talked them down to 40k, seem like a done deal when we spoke to the sales guy and his manager, but when the manager came back after talking to the higher ups.. they said they couldn't do it. So we walked and parted ways. But im wondering if the sales people was ready to sign but the higher ups said no... that tells me they are still making a good profit margin.. and after reading a couple posters here.. some of you are paying 44k even before taxes.. prices are so different.. sigh.. so confused.. :confuse:

Purchased a 2011 4runner Trail with running boards. It did not include kdds or nav. The msrp was 37,300, got it down to 34, 800 with a trade-in of 12,800 for a 2005 4runner sport(91k).
Total cost was 22,000 plus 2,300 for ttl.

I just purchased an SR5 w/3rd row in one of the standard option package configurations for the NE region (FE, EC, DJ, PE, SR, TH, 3T, 5A, E5, MF).
MSRP was $36,083 and the selling price was $33,000 (invoice) with $349 for documentation/fees.
And in all honesty the buying experience was actually a pleasure (Toyota of Nashua NH). There were several other dealerships I worked with initially that were really less than straightforward (to be polite).
  • Just purchased a Gray 2011 SR5 4x4 MSRP $34,565, for $30,877 +TTL and $120 doc fee in Texas. Accessories were:

    -50 state emissions
    -Sport Fabric-Trimmed 8-Way Power
    -Window Tint
    -XM Satellite Radio
    -Carpet Mat Set
    -3m Paint Protection Film
    -Vehicle Shield Pacage
    -Cargo Cross Bars

Ok, so we are looking at base SR5, 4x2 (it's for my wife, I have a Wrangler for 4x4ing) with Katzkin added Leather.

Price out the door is $29,963 (that's $300 for state tax, and I think another $500 for admin fee, etc)

They are willing to give us $3500 for a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport with 120k miles, which is over kbb.

Any thoughts? It seems like a pretty good deal, I have a comparable deal on a Grand Cherokee as well, so we are trying to decide between the two.

Hi. Did you find a 3rd row sr5? I've also been having trouble.
  • jtinerjtiner Posts: 4
    edited June 2011
Yes, I found a 3rd row SR5 in magnetic gray metallic at Toyota of Nashua (NH). I don't know if you're located in New England, but there are one or two in N.H., none at all in Maine, eight or ten in MA, and a couple in RI.
The local dealers' "locate" prices were $2200 and $1200 more than what I was quoted at the originating dealerships.
I was fortunate to find one in NH, since sales tax and temp. plates can be problematic. There's no NH sales tax, so it was simple to purchase, drive home with the manufacturer's certificate of origin, and then pay taxes/title here in Maine.

Finally purchased a 2011 SR5 4x4 in Black for $35,200 (IncludedTax, Doc fee, DMV).

    Car specs:
Convenience Package Exhaust Tip, Cargo Cross Bars, Wheel Locks
    50 State Emissions
Anti-Theft Alarm System with Engine Immobilizer
    Power Tilt/Slide Moonroof with Sunshade
    Fabric-Trimmed 50/50 Split Fold-Flat Third-Row Seating and Sliding Second-Row with Passenger-Side One-Touch Walk-In Function and 3rd Row Curtain Shield Airbags
    Running Boards

So what do you guys think? :confuse:
