Or rather my Dad's truck. He died three years ago (quite unexpectedly) and since then my brother's been driving his 2000 Toyota Tacoma. My mother says that he's been bugging her to take it back, but even though the truck is still technically hers (she pays the insurance and has the title), she doesn't want it. She recently offered it to me. Golden opportunity, and I'm pretty sure that the truck is in great shape. Any tips for buying a truck from a family member? I don't want to start another world war, and I do intend to get everything in writing (condition, the monthly payments I'll make, etc) I looked the value up here on Edmunds and it's worth just under $9000.
I'm sure some of you here have bought vehicles from family members--how'd you handle it?
