I have a 1981 Toyota SR5 manual, 4WD, long bed pickup. A family member bought it new and it has always been maintained. It had 250,000 on it and needed some work (oil change, oil leak, time to service manual transmission, cracks in windshield, trick doors that sometimes did not want to unlock) when I got a new vehicle. Unfortunately, neither cab door works now so you have can only get into the cab by climbing in through the opening in the rear window (ya gotta be kinda spry like!) I can't recall the criteria for used car ratings but I think it would be considered to be in "poor" condition. The truck has been sitting for over a year. I have all repair records. Obviously, it will need some work before it can run (if that's what someone wanted it to do). My question is, what price range can I expect if I sell it. I assume that the buyer would want it as a parts vehicle, although someone who had a love of old Toyotas, and could work on it themselves might attempt to make it operable again. Also how would I go about getting the best price? Truck trader, e bay, or? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
