Not a Daihatsu. The make is still sold in North America.

    Subaru Justy.

I was used to seeing white ones with cladding, the base model threw me off.
  • lemkolemko Posts: 15,276
    That's it! It's a 1990 Subaru Justy.

The tiny little econoboxes of that era all looked the same.

Put a Spark in a time machine and every one back then would freak out. :D

I think a lot of the cladded ones were 4WD. I knew someone in high school who had a 4WD 4 door model - very rare car, today. My brother looked all over for a decent one awhile ago, no luck.

Hmm...surroundings give me a German vibe, but maybe not.

    G'day

There were many French microcars after war. Is this one of them?

    Cheers

Its small and German so my first thought was a Kleinschnittger?
  • magnettemagnette London UKPosts: 2,020
Actually having answered his earlier today, it dawned on me as I drove home from work just now that this is a Champion - something like a Champion 250 or 275 - anyway, not a Kleinschnittger

Yes! It is a Champion 250 ca. 1950-51, the first product of a small company located in Paderborn, West Germany.

The Champion 250 was essentially a four wheeled motorcycle lackiong even an electric starter.

Now what the hell is a Klienschnittger?

Looks to be twice as good as a BMW since it's got a double kidney grille!

Looks a bit like an Ambassador but it's not, nor is it any other variant of the Morris Oxford.

    Buick Electra?

    1965?

You're a bit off on the year Stickguy. That black beauty is a 1962 Buick Electra 225 Sport Coupe. IMO the big Buicks never looked better than they did in '62. Those wheels are the optional Magnum 500 style chromed steel wheels (not alloys) seen on many different 1960s cars.

Wheels are right, but the centers are wrong. Those centers didn't appear until the 1970s. I had those same wheels on my 1979 Buick Park Avenue.

I wasn't that hot at the time - due to the time difference I was actually dozing off and heading for bed when I posted that reply - because most of you are in the US I'm generally around when you guys are still asleep if I post from work, and its only when I am home like now that I am on the same wavelength.

I have a model of a similar Moskvitch, but a single colour 503 rather than the more up market 507.

Based on the "truck testicles" I'm going to guess 1973 Redneck 2000 XL??

It's got a Vega/Capri vibe but can't tell what it is.

It has a Ford vibe to it...
