I had it pegged as a Fiat 850 Spider. Am I wrong?

    G'day

Well I got that wrong! When I went and looked at some images of the 850 convertible, the line which I thought was an odd headlight bulge, was clearly a reflection line.

    Cheers

Did anybody name the Oldsmobile? That's a '58, I believe and without looking it up, I think it's a 98.

And the blue and white '56 Ford in the background of the red convertible.

    @imidazol97, the green Olds is a '58 Super 88.

You guys are good. Gonna have to start taking pics of the big honking RVs in the campsites and forget the easy cars. :)

Yup, that most certainly is a Fiat 850 Spider. The headlights indicate a late series car ('68-'71).

Pre-1968 cars had a different design featuring faired-in headlights w a much lower profile but revised safety regs for '68 led to the revised headlight profile, the same thing happened to the Jag E-Types which ruined the looks of a startlingly beautiful car.

The little Fiat was less beautiful (not to mention a lot slower but an interesting design nonetheless.

    Here's the original design seen on a 1967 Spider>

Styling was by Bertone and was based on a famous concept car, the Bertone Testudo>

Funny but I was just walking down Pitt Street in Sydney behind a girl wearing high white boots. Maybe its my age or origins but that only means one thing to Australians; not a chance you'd see a nice girl wearing white boots!

    Cheers

    1951 Kaiser DeLuxe Two-Door Sedan?

  • berriberri Posts: 4,694

Sounds about right to me. I always found it interesting how Kaiser and Ford of that era seemed to use 4 door glass for the rear passengers in 2 doors.

That's why it's a two-door sedan. The "Club Coupe" has single-pane rear windows.

    Go figure...

  • berriberri Posts: 4,694

Hmm, just like the 49-51 Ford's!

Volvo XC90 - it better be good it it's going to soldier on for 15 years like the previous one.

  • andys120andys120 Loudon NHPosts: 16,972

Yup that's the 2016 Volvo XC-90. A step backward IMO. Volvo wagons and CUVs have been getting sleeker but this re-design looks boxier than the old version. :o

I think that was part of the plan - returning to their heritage a bit.

    And boxy is good, lol.

Yes it did have a slightly different number, you're looking at a 1953 Volvo PV445.
