That 2 door 1961 DeSoto is one to have. Only 911 built.
And, curb feelers! Great help in the big cities.

I wonder what the chances are that the buggy is a Studebaker product?

Red Volvo 544 on the far left and a ‘50s Vauxhall (Victor?) to the left of the Caddy on the right.

In LA just beside and behind the Toyota looks like a 62 Mercury wagon, pretty rare today (just like the Mark II).

You know, that just doesn't look like a Volvo 544 to me. The 544 tail lights aren't viewable (although that could be a trick of light), but also the callouts on the trunk aren't there. Could it be a 444?

Red car is definitely a Volvo, if not a 544 then a 444.

I believe the 1957 Ford on the right is a Town Sedan, Fairlane 500. It has posts, carefully narrowed and hidden by chrome covers looking like it could be a hardtop.

The hardtop 4-door was a Town Victoria and has the reverse wedge at the C-pillar on the door.

Although designed by Ferrari and made by them at Maranello they were never branded or badged as Ferraris. Technically it's simply called a "Dino 246GT". There were also contemporary Fiat Dinos that used the same 2.4 liter V6.

With a road as straight and clear as that one why would anyone want to park that A40 Devon head first into that bush?

I think the nearest car on the road is a GM product - probably immediately pre-war.

Beyond the Devon that is a 49(?) Ford

I like the wheels/hubcaps/trim rings on that Jag, a nice alternative to wire wheels.

I remember visiting Maine as a kid with my parents in the 1960s and the place was overrun with shoe factories, now all gone. This one, in Old Town, ME, just outside of Bangor, is one I don't recall. The Ford dealer in town (Sullivan Ford back then) seemed to do very well.

The building still exists and has been renovated into senior's apartments.

Ford was very well represented in that pic. I see a 62 Ford next to the 64 Ford and Mercury to the left.

The XK-120 was the world's fastest production car when it was introduced in 1948. i suspect that's an early
    1950s version.
I think the sedan parked into the bush (?) is a Morris Oxford but the A40 was similar if apparently unrelated.

I like the hubcaps too but I noticed the the front is chromed but the rear is painted red (??).

I think the black coupe with white walls is a circa '47-8 Ford or Merc not a GM car.

Car nearest the camera on the street is a 37-38 Ford (I am leaning towards a 38 based on hood details). Correct on the car across the street. I wonder if someone in the Jag worked for a British car dealer, with the Devon nearby.

Looks like a couple of '55 Chevys sandwiching a cigar Bird further back.

The car at the curb is a 58 Rambler; smaller than a Checker but roughly the same shape.

I will never forget the whine of those trackless trollies. They made sense for Seattle though. Most of the power for the state was generated hydroelectrically and was cheap as dirt. Boy those were the days.

We had something similar here except for the hydroelectricity. But the trolleys were run by the electric utility at the time so perhaps it made some sense to them. These were on the roads until 1970 when the utility got out of the transit business and the city took it over, using new GM fishbowl diesels.

One of my earliest shopping memories with my mom is of those trolley buses with the wires overhead, they disappeared very shortly thereafter, maybe 1960 or so, in Cincinnati. edit - they finally shut down in 1965.
