Hi chuck68516. Ford Credit's current base lease rate and residual value for a 24-month lease of a 2013 Explorer Limited 4WD in your area with 10,500 miles per year are 3.0% and 65%, respectively.

The numbers for an otherwise identical 36-month lease are 4.5% and 56%.

    Hello Car Man,

Can you please tell me the current lease rate and residual for the 2013 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD for 36 months, 12,000 miles per year. I live in Queens, New York and my zip is 11360.

The dealer was talking with his manager and saying how the 2013 lease programs are not good and high at 4% and need to come down "2 points" to get me to the number i want to be at. I was looking for a sign and drive ( 1st month/transfer NYC plates) and looking to lease around mid $550s for a 2012 /2013Realistic/Unrealstic if they come down to 2%?

    Thanks so much,

    Hello,

Does anybody know the current lease rate for a 2013 explorer xlt? My dealer first quoted me 1% for 3 yrs, 15k miles then said it is 2.5%. I haven't signed yet and wanted to check on here first.

    Thanks
  • I received the following quote from my local dealer in NJ:

    2012 Ford Explorer XLT 4wd msrp $38,451
    X-plan price of $36,416
    money factor 2%
    Residual 55%

    12k a year

    $2000 down
    $433.00 a month includes tax & fees

    or 15k per year
    $2000 down
    $455 a month includes tax % fees

Seem like a good deal? $

I don't see this as being "good." You could buy that same Explorer for about $580 a month including tax. I wouldn't lease one to save $125 or less. Might as well buy. Buying gives you additional rebate(s) not available to leasing. Buy it or negotiate a better lease.

    Hi Car Man, others:

Got a "deal" on an XLT Ecoboost my wife and I are considering:

    MSRP 37755
Trade 4000 (03 Windstar 123K miles with some minor body issues and a few things not working)

39 mos lease 12K miles per year
money factor 3.25 (seems too high???)
    residual .55
    zip code 17331
    $642 due at signing
    Payment $460/mt

    Thoughts? Thanks!

    Hi Car Man,

I am looking for the money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of an Explorer XLT and Explorer Limited. Both for 12k miles/yr.

    Thanks!
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Posts: 38,515
Hi rpm813. Ford Credit's current base lease rate and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 Explorer XLT AWD with 12,000 miles per year are 2.0% and 55%, respectively.

The lease rate for a '12 Explorer Limited AWD would be the same, but its residual value would be 53%.

When negotiating your deal on this truck, make sure to take advantage of the $500 cash incentive that is currently available on leases of it through Ford Credit.

    Hey car man,
The 24mo leases look most attractive. Whats the rate/residual
for a 2wd XLT in northern california. Is the lease rates regionally priced
    on this vehicle?
    Thanks for any input

Hey zapman12. Ford's June lease program is only scheduled to run through today. It is supposed to introduce its new July numbers some time tomorrow. Please post a reminder for me in a day or two and I'll be happy to fill you in on what I have been able to find out about the new program. Thanks.

    Car_Man,

I too am in the market for an Explorer this month. Have you heard what the new incentives for July are today?

    Thanks!
