    I agree with your point about not making it seem like you're really excited about the car. He knows I want the color, transmission, and options but at the same time, I'm not sprinting in there until he fixes his quote. I told this last dealer I want below invoice as it's a car that's not in particularly high demand, still has some inventory left, and is a 2006 model. He tried to get me to come into the dealership but I told him unless he gives me some kind of quote to think over, there's no reason I need to be in the dealership to receive numbers. Post some pictures of your car once you get it!
  • Unfortunately there will be no car.

    I went to the dealer tonight (after giving a phone deposit on saturday) to sign the buyers order and was informed that the sales guy at my dealer did not put a hold in for the car at the other dealer until today, at which point it had been sold.

    I'm SO angry right now...and have just about had it...that was the last car in my area, so unless something lands on my doorstep thats too good to pass up, I'm done for now.

    Oh geeze, you seem to be having terrible luck with purchasing the S60R...maybe it just wasn't meant to be? I'm thinking the same thing for myself as I just got lease payments from a new dealer that are still high at $600 per month. I think I'm going to stick with the G35X as the payments are much lower.

    I e-mailed a few dealers in my area and was wondering what the breakdown for the current lease incentives were for leasing through an outside bank. im hoping to get invoice minus 11,000 on an S60R. Just want to get to the dealer with the correct information.
  • If you read up the last 5-10 posts, you will see most of us have been breaking down the deals we were getting. Volvo is currently offering 11,000 incentives for leasing through an independent bank. The best way to get the best deal is to negotiate your deal as if there were no incentives, and then have them apply the incentive. As far as lease rates go though, you could be getting any number since its at the dealers discretion what bank they use. Sometimes it'll be USBank or Wells Fargo, othertimes it will be a big popular local bank.

    If a dealer is quoting you anything other then invoice price and then taking off the incentives, you can do better because it means that we will be making more profit. Also remember you're at the end of the model year- he is not gonna wanna be stuck with an '07 car (even if it is discontinued for next year)

    Thank you, so the deal that you had posted earlier was based on a 41,200 price before the incentives? is this invoice for the car? IM hoping its possible to get the sale price in the 30's although all of the other factors can bring the payment up, ideally id like to be at/under 400/month.

    Any idea what kind of incentives are on the T5 model?
  • The deal I had posted never went through, but yes the few deals I had were based on either Invoice pricing or below- all that information can be found by pricing out the car you are looking at on the edmunds front page.

    Depending on what your car lists for, what its invoice is, and what your negotiated lease price is before money down, you should be able to get it below 400/month with money down.

    What are the current lease incentives on the 2.5T and T5? I keep hearing about the $8000 incentive when leasing through an independent bank. Are there other lease incentives (e.g., dealer cash) that this can be combined with? I'm guessing there are because I see these cars advertised for lease with a cap cost more than $8000 under invoice. I would just like to know exactly what they are so I'm armed with all the info when I go to a dealership. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
  • I didn't want to jinx anything and post the details of the deal, until I was sure the car was mine...but today I picked up my 2007 S60 R AWD!!!

    I agree.. it's crazy..

    I wonder if there is some sort of chargeback, if you try to buy the lease out in the first few months? If not, it seems that leasing, then buying, would be cheaper than purchasing outright...

  • The residual on it is absolutely stupidly low...something like $17k. My feeling is if the car is trouble free, I'll buy it out at the end of the lease. It's just so much car for the money. interesting lil tidbit from when I was signing the the lease agreement with the independent bank, they had a stipulation in there that says as long as you pay your monthly payment on time, they will cover any excess wear and tear on the car up to a cost of $2000.

    Anyway, as long as it stays trouble free I'll be happy. The deal was really painless too.

    oh, absolutely. And that's exactly what I've been telling people on these S60s for quite some time now. There is just too much trunk money on a lease to NOT take advantage.

    How'd you get the dealer to go about 2K below invoice (in addition to the lease incentives)? It seems to me that their selling price cut out most, if not all of the profit from the holdback?

    Thanks. I am negotiating with a dealer on a similar car and they want a bit OVER invoice on an R with a few more options.
  • They had been sitting on the car for a while now, and didn't want to dealer trade it out. So they were very agressive with their pricing.

    Either way, I'm lovin the car!

    Do you mind telling me what area you are in? Also, how far below invoice was the car sold for? Working backwards with your numbers, It looks like they sold you the car at about 1500 or more below invoice...

    I believe I posted all my numbers further up as far as sale price and everything....but 1500 sounds right.

    Hi tonyt1. Through September 4th, Volvo is providing a $3,500 cash incentive on leases of the '07 S60 through Volvo Finance. If you opt to lease this car through an independent bank, Volvo is providing a total of $9,000 in cash incentives on the '07 S60 2.5T and a total of $10,250 on the '07 S60 2.5T 2WD. These offers are not compatible with the $4,500 dealer cash that Volvo is providing on cash purchases of this car.
