I don't own a SRX yet but found this info for an '04. Not sure if it's what you are asking.

    Adding Keys Domestic

    Important
You may add up to 10 additional master keys or valet keys using this procedure when a learned master key is available.
This procedure adds keys only. The procedure does not erase previously learned keys.
The keys to be learned must duplicate the mechanical cut of the current key.
If more than one valet key is to be learned, immediately precede each valet key with a learned master key.

With a previously learned master key, turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Turn OFF the ignition and remove the key.
Within 10 seconds insert the key to be learned. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF. The vehicle has now learned the new key.
  • thanks for the info called dealership told the same thing but of course this smartkey is a pk3+ were all others are pk3 only if anyone has idea other than bringing it to dealer to have them program into the computer would like to know taking trip to see son who is a marine time is limited thanks

OK try this. I replaced the ECM in an '03 Envoy and had to use this procedure. You have to do 3 cycles to complete. Ensure your battery is good before beginning.

    30-Minute Relearn Procedure
Use this procedure after replacing any of the following components:

    The passkey III+ (PK3+) keys.
    The theft deterrent control module.
    The ECM, see important above.

    Important
This procedure is not available on vehicles equipped with EXPORT configured theft deterrent control modules.
When replacing a theft deterrent control module with a GM SPO Replacement Part, insure the procedure to setup a new theft deterrent control module is performed prior to the 30-minute relearn procedure.

With a master passkey III+ (PK3+) key, turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Observe the Security telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn off.
Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
Repeat steps 1-3 two more times for a total of 3 cycles or 30 minutes.

    Important
The vehicle learns the key transponder information and/or passwords on the ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.

With a master PK3+ key, start the vehicle. The vehicle has now learned the key transponder information and the ECM has now learned the fuel continue password.
If additional keys are required to be learned, refer to Adding Keys .
With a scan tool, clear any DTCs.
  • tried that but after completing cycle told if wanted to ad second key must put in ignition for 3 to 5 seconds switch to on position then remove.didnt work all it did is cancel the programing for both keys, had to go through the programing all over again.hate to do it looks like i have to go to a dealer to have them do it,thanks for help
