What are some of the items / issues you thought would have been covered under Honda Care but are not? Looking for small print or undisclosed pitfalls....

Also, when you have a problem with your car that has Honda Care, how easy is it to use or get service?

Anyone on here have Honda Care and never had to use it? I had an Acura Integra for 15 years which only needed maintenance; no other problems. Still debating whether an extended warranty it is a good buy for a Honda. The fact that it covers replacement tires from flats/blowouts, may sell me on it...

    I had a 6-year, 100K HondaCare warranty on my '02 CR-V... Paid $1000.

6.5 years and 106K miles when I sold it... not one claim..

You have to pay up from tear down or diagnostics. You may or may not get reimburse. My car is sitting right now in the dealer with a major engine issue. It has 58 k on it and motor is blowen. Honda said replace motor but I am 4 months out of factory warranty. So my Honda care is all I have.they take a different approach they want engine torn down and have an inspector to look at car. They are looking for a reason not to pay essentially is how I feel. It looks good on first glance but read the fine print.

I live in SoCal. I emailed 3 pages of Honda dealers listed on the Honda site near me for a quote on my late model Accord. One of the sorriest experiences I've had on trying to spending this much cash.

I either didn't get an answer, got a canned automated message about selling me a car, or they tried to get my number and ask me to come into dealer. I received only a few quotes from local dealers via email and they were $300-$400 more than what I purchased from Saccucci.

Here is the quote from Saccucci:

•Vehicles with 12,001 miles up to 24,000 miles on odometer. Please add a $50 surcharge.
•Vehicles with 24,001 miles up to 36,000 miles on odometer. Please add a $100 surcharge.

These plans start on contract purchase date(additional time), and 0 miles on odometer.
Example: A G38 plan will expire 3 years from contract purchase date, or when the odometer hits 80,000 miles.

    Hello all,

Just wanted to share the price I paid for the 2013 CRV EX-L FWD. Not sure if it is a great deal but it definitely was a good buying experience @ Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos, CA. Thanks to the sales rep Susanne Y.

Sale Price: $25,998 (including destination fee)
Flex Cash: -$500 (through Honda financing)
Didn't qualify for the conquest discount of $500 as I didn't own the qualifying brands
    +TTL & Doc fee

Ask for Susanne Y (Sales rep)

Hopefully this data helps some prospective buyer.

Just a follow on to this long blog. I just purchased a 2014 Honda Accord Coupe and I live in Florida. The Florida dealer wanted to sell me a third party warranty (including dent/leather coverage) for north of $2,800.00 - 5 years, 100,000 miles. I declined. I started looking for Honda Care and found many places out of FL that sell it online and at a super price - i.e. less than $970.00 for a 8 year, 120,000 mile coverage.

I was almost talked into forking over the money to one of the out of state dealers mentioned in this blog and I decided to call Honda Care to make sure if I bought it out of FL (using a relatives CO address) would they accept it.

Honda told me that once a car is registered in FL - then you ONLY have the option of purchasing Honda Care through a FL dealer. They will NOT accept an application if you try to go around Florida's insurance laws and if you were to somehow get by the first gate and they find out later - they could decline coverage.

I ended up buying the Honda Care through a Delray Acura Dealer for $2080.00 plus tax - same plan (8 yrs/120,000) less a rebate check of $135.00.

    Best!

Seems like this forum has been last updated in september 2014 but nonetheless I'll ask a question.
This question pertains to Honda Care and UBER, does using my car for services like Uber void my honda care or not? I recently purchased a Honda Accord Hybrid and got a 7 year 100,000 miles warranty, would be a shame if Honda voided my warranty for using my car for Uber ridesharing which here in NY is considered commercial business, where we gotta get commercial FHV license, TLC license plate and get commercial insurance. Anyone here has honda care and was still able to get warranty coverage after using your car for services like Uber and Lyft?

I am the owner of a brand anew 2016 Pilot with Honda Sensing. I am interested in getting Honda Care 8yrs/120K mls with 0 Deductables, but have a few questions. Honda Care don't want to talk to me because I am NOT YET a customer.

Does anyone know if Honda Care covers breakdown because the part is simply old ? For example, if the water pump of the windshield stops working because it is 6 years old, will Honda Care cover? Anyone has ever filed such a claim?

Does Honda Care cover all components of Honda Sensing? Again, anyone has ever filed a claim?

Is Sentinel Services that supposed to cover oil and filter change worth it? The contract it cover up to only $45 per oil change for 0 weight oil. Doesn't oil and filter cost more than that these days? Anyone cane share experience?

    Thank you in advance

I was just looking over the Honda Sentinel stuff - you get some other benefits besides oil changes, like roadside assistance and road hazard on the tires. But most people never take advantage of that kind of stuff.

My sister pre-paid for maintenance a few months back on her new Subaru. First mailing she got from the dealer was a 50% off coupon on an oil change.

So I'm a bit dubious about the value of Sentinel.

Any owners with HondaCare out there?

oh, congrats on the new Pilot!

Hi, will Honda Care cover replacing the timing belt, tensioner and water pump (or is that considered maintenance and you have to pay)? If they don't and you own a J series engine with a belt, that warranty for $1200 almost doubles with what it costs to do a timing belt kit replacement.

Thanks, I figured that. Wish they would switch to a chain, after my lease is over instead of buying the car, I'll switch to the i4, just too bad that don't offer a touring trim level for the 4 cylinder models.

Really? Is paying 800.00 or so once every 100,000 enough of a deal to switch from a V-6 to a 4 cylinder?

If you do go with the 4 cylinder I think you'll find it to be more than adequate as far as power!
