2005 Silver EX-L with XM Manual Tran & added protection package sedan
OTD is 23000 so it brings actual sale price to about 211XX. I live in Southern Cal and tax here is about 7.75%
What do you guys think? Should I play with this more or walk away?
Thanks
Looking for a no-nonsense straight up type of dealer (if there is such a thing).
Willing to travel outside the area for a great deal/service.
Thanks in advance.
Looking at an '06 Accord coupe EX 4-cyl/auto in graphite. Dealer is quoting $500 over invoice (which is about $21,500) plus destination, 5% MD tax, tags. I'm getting body side molding, mud guards, pin stripe and wheel locks added. Price out-the-door is just over $23,900 (which is the actual MSRP on the sticker).
I was hoping to get the car for a little closer to invoice. Maybe just $100-200 over. And I haven't even contemplated an extended warranty yet. I really can't see spending nearly $25,000 total for this car.
Thoughts?
I will check them out!
That's for an 06 Accord EX-V6 Sedan Auto/non-navi.....
Hope it helps.
PT.
Since $23,500 is not a listed MSRP for any version of a 2005 Accord EX, it's impossible to answer your question without you providing more information.
Are you buying an EX sedan or coupe?
Are you buying an EX with four or six cylinder engine?
Are you buying an EX with a manual or automatic transmission?
Are you buying an EX with a cloth or leather interior?
She is not sure what to expect when she goes to the dealership to return the car.
Is there anyone here with some personal knowledge of turning in a lease car that might be able to give some tips? She is concerned that the dealership will try to charge her bogus fees etc...
Your input is greatly apprectiated. Thank you.

Also now that the 05s are not the latest accord models - would a price of $17, 900 justify buying an older model? My friend bought the same config for $17, 300 a month back but I can't get that price any longer.
All the price are pre-tax and pre-fees
Thanks
First time young buyer
Here's how I look at it- the '06 Accord is significantly different looking than the '05. Technically, though they're both brand new, the '05 is really a year old. If you tried to sell or trade in two years from now, the '05 would be three years old and the '06 two years old. The '06 would be worth significantly more money both because it's a year newer and it's a "refreshed" look.
You should be able to get an '06 LX AT for $19,000 or a little less. That's about $1000 more than the '05 you mentioned.
If you're going to keep the car four years or more, I'd say go with whichever car you like better. The difference in payment will only be about $25 a month. If you don't think you'll keep it that long, go with the '06. Another plus for the '06 is that you'll be able to get it in any color they offer as opposed to just what they have left (if that matters to you).
Good luck shopping!
Could you elaborate - '06 Accord is significantly different looking than the '05? I just recently started researching cars and the only difference I noticed was the redesigned rear lights in the 06.
Also if you have a link to the comparison article - please post it.
Thanks

I can't recall where I read that article, but I'll keep looking for it. I don't remember if it was online or in a magazine. If I find it in the next few days, I will post a link for you.
I found the following on the honda website and now I am leaning towards the 06 unless I get a better price on the 05 than 17,900.

more Power train warranty
better styling

Thanks!
Best price I've been quoted so far was $25,395 including destination. But I was also told afterward that they have some room (of course...)
Thanks!
Anyone else?
Even I need to know some good dealers in Florida...Am looking for a 2006 Honda Accord LX-SE. Please help me out here...
Thanks
The best OTD prices I got are $19,000 for '05 and $21,000 for '06.
The other differences between 2005 and 2006 include: tail light looks ( I personally like 2005 much better! ), engine ( 06 gains 6 hp more than 2005), and daytime running light ( for 06 ).
That's what I know for their differences. Hope it helps!
$18,995 (=MSRP)
Is this a good price? The dealer refuses to go down. Do you folks know of others that paid closer to invoice for 2006 models?
2) Sales tax in our state is 8.8% but this dealer is charging 10.8% citing "state auto tax add-on". Does this sound reasonable to you?
I got a quote of $19,409 from Carsdirect.com for 2006 Accord LX/AT/4-Door Sedan.
Most dealerships that are not dealing with Cardirect.com are quoting about $500 more. Being a first-time buyer, I am wondering if the dealership which Carsdirect.com points me to, for the above price, will make up for the seemingly lower price on Service Agreement, i.e. post-purchase maintenance.
So, I wanted to ask the experts, what is a reasonable service agreement? Any pointers? What is a reasonable price to pay for such maintenance?
I ask, since, the price that Carsdirect.com is promising will cover only Price+Tax+Vehicle Registration + Documentation + Inspection. It will not say anything about after-purchase service.
I have no idea what is reasonable. Please help. Thanks a lot for your time.
Tunku.
My post may have been unclear on that.
Thanks a lot.
2) "state auto tax add-on"? BS in my opinion
What I did was to get the dealer to agree to a final price before tax, including all fees that they charge, before even heading over to see the car. After negotiating the price, I persisted and got them to waive all other fees. All I paid was registration & tax on my price of $17,400 for my '05 LX AT and I told them up front that would be no deal if I had to pay a penny over. It doesn't hurt to imply that you have other options or that another dealership is matching their offer. In my case I did have another dealer who had offered the same in another state so I was negotiating from a position of strength but was relieved that the local place matched it as then I didn't have to make a trip to get the car.
