I was hoping to do the same for my new Matrix, which I indeed now own and will be my daily driver (the Integra and the Escort SW died in rapid succession).
To get back on subject...try these if you didn't find them yourself: www.toyotapart.com and
www.toyota-parts.com. I don't think either is as good as HandAparts, they sure don't have anyone like Trevor giving out free advice! Be sure to post any others you come across.
Problem is, the Matrix is still so new there isn't much aftermarket stuff yet.
When I bought the car, I just wanted to get it off the lot and home before they changed their mind on the price (just under invoice), I didn't ask about accessories and neither did they. When I went in today to give them the loan check, I asked the parts dept. what they wanted for the mats, and they quoted me over MSRP ($106 vs my best internet price so far of $68)!
It was also a week-and-a-half special order for red touch-up-paint (got a chip on the way home, pre-Zaino ).
(I deleted my tire size post, because I finally noticed the typo)
Shouldn't we be referring to the color as 'RR'? Is ti the matrix equivalent of GG?;-)
You're right, RR it is!
I'll post a link to this place if everything works out.
Mats were very heavy and fit perfectly (as they should). Only carpet now visible is on the center 'hump'. They might not have been up to Weathertech standards, but between price and shipping, they were $40-$50 cheaper for the set.
The bumper protector came with alignment templates and detailed instructions. Had to improvise a little, as I didn't have the 3M prep solution (?) or a hard roller to press it in. Used alcohol to remove the Zaino and get to the painted surface and applied pressure with both hands (using the palm of one hand to sub for the roller and dragging it across the protector with the other) to adhere it to the surface. Only time will tell if it worked, but it seems to be good and stuck and properly aligned.
Now I gotta go re-zaino the edges;-).
thanks
Thanks!
But what you can do is check the air filter numbers between the engines of the Corolla and the Matrix XR to see if they are similar. If they are, you can use the TRD Filter for the Corolla
thanks!
My toyota dealer had the regular floor mats for 46 bucks and the all weather (not needed here in sunny southern cali) for 78. I guess it just depends on the dealer eh?!
As far as auto door locks...on my honda I went to best buy had them install an alarm system and the auto door lock/unlock feature was only 12 dollars extra per door plus 50 dollars for labor. So it was less than 100 dollars to add it. I know that it was cheaper than letting honda do it for 500 bucks plus labor.
And as far as my toyota corolla s...it came with floor mats and the cargo trunk mat for free??
Thanks
if you want to, please email me. leedav@ohsu.edu
looks like OEM reflectors too. on the front left and right, u can stick some on this two mudflap type of plastic in front of the tires. also look OEM and looks sharp!
just thought i'd share my cheap upgrade!
___I have not seen anyone post in regards to finding original 03 Corolla LE aluminum wheel style that were initially available but appear to have been changed as of ~ July, 2002 on forward. You can see the older and more desirable IMO aluminum wheels here:
http://www.toyota.com/html/shop/vehicles/corolla/index.html
with the latest offerings in the options and accessories section here:
http://www.toyota.com/html/shop/vehicles/corolla/options/corolla_options.html
___I am interested in possibly purchasing 4 of the older aluminum wheels for my 03 LE but cannot find them as of this writing.
___Thanks in advance

As for the others on the 2nd link that kind of sqiggle (shown on the phantom grey/moondust corolla) those are the upgradeable rims. They are a bigger size as my dealer explained to me. Maybe in your area they automatically come with the 2nd style and u have to pay for them. Personally I like the original ones myself. Very nice and stylish.
So to answer your questions they still come with those...my car was made after July 2002 and I have them.
the mags on the first link looks nicer.
just to let you know, lots of corolla 03' parts are out of stock! there's a memo that went out from toyota saying that they cannot manufacture enough 03' corolla's to meet the demand! they are the 2nd best seller right now in the toyota line-up, along with echo. not sure what is number one best seller.
so if you want 03' OEM corolla parts, be prepared to pay a premium price for it and be prepared to wait a long time!
And I had to order the cargo net also. I got dealer price on it (30 bucks) and that will be UPSed to me by thurs for free. I guess maybe you just need to hobnob with your dealer to get a better price and get it faster.
I guess maybe all the corollas are coming to california. All the dealers I went to had at least 10-20 on their lot but mostly in black, white, silver and that phantom/moondust metalic color. They don't make as many of the red and blue so those are more rare. Thats why I bought my from the production line...so I would get blue. Of course most of the cars were sold with downs but every other day they get more in.
They are both the same size.
And no, LE does not come standard with alloys, they have to be optioned in.
You can still get both of the alloys in xcel's links from Toyota.
2014 Mini Cooper (stick shift of course), 2016 Camry hybrid, 2009 Outback Sport 5-spd (keeping the stick alive)
The standard steering wheel on my Corolla is sooo boring and I'd like to know what others here may have done to address this problem with their Corollas! Any ideas?
your dealer may be correct when he said S steering wont fit on your car. i could be wrong though.
if you dont care about the airbag, then you can pick up a nice MOMO steering wheel. they normally cost an arm and a leg though!
Surely the S steering wheel will fit on the same model year cars...

those of you buying used cars that have airbags, make sure you have them!
we've had reports on tv about re-built cars being sold without airbags! they just stuff cloth or something inside to make it feel like you have an airbag! and of course when you're involved in an accident, nothing deploys!
so if you buy a used car, have your airbag checked to make sure its there!
i assume they would look under your dash and maybe remove the steering - i really dont have a clue.
You can get all of these accessories put on when you buy the vibe new. The supercharger will give the matrix/vibe welcomed low end torque. If anyone puts one on please start a new discussion and share your experience.
lots of info for toyota vehicles.
i got lots of tips from there and they have a DIY section as well.
if you shave off the "toyota, corolla, CE, LE" on the trunk of your car, it will give you a very nice clean look!
i removed mine and except the toyota logo, it looks really nice and clean. also, you don't have to worry about wax and dirt in between those letters!
Also, does anyone know how to remove the dealer crap stickers without damaging the paint (very delicate in 2003 I hear)?
after the emblem is off, i just used my fingers to rub off the remaining tape. once done, wax it and wow, clean look and no scratches!
to remove the dealer stickers, use a hair dryer. heat up the stickers and use your fingers to peel the stickers off. when done, use wax to remove the remaining tape! done!
