FYI, I also looked at purchasing in Indiana. Kennedy Mazda in Valporaiso offered to sell me a 6S with only auto for just under 18K. MSRP was 22,765. Also note that there were two price increases over the year. So that can effect the price by as much as 500. With only auto MSRP could be 22,765 or 22,945 or 23,245 for the exact same car depending on the build date.
A search of Mazdausa.com showed a car pretty close to your desire at cascade mazda. 23,345 is MSRP. Steel gray S with power seat and auto. If they give invoice that is a pretty good deal.
MSRP was 23,065.
Subtract 2150 dealer discount, 2750 Texas rebate 1000 MAC financing rebate, 500 college grad rebate. 6400 total discount.
Total paid was 16,665. Out the door was about 17,900. Bought at Jeff Haas Mazda in Houston.
Exterior color is silver with black interior.
Price of the vehicle $20,740 (incl. destination charge)
Doc fees: $50
Smooth transaction and no pressure to buy any extras!! Did not buy extended warranty. Wonderful salesperson. Financed thru my credit union for 2.99% APR, dealer could not beat the price, the lowest they could get was 3.48%
So total rebate amount was around $7,000 off MSRP. Got couple of free oil changes and few service discount coupons
Thanks for the info. The car I looking to purchase had a MSRP of $22,945, dealer invoice was $21,430 and dealer quoted me $18,200. (invoice less $3,000 rebate and another $230)
I would have bought if the car was new, but the car was a demo and had 3,500 miles on it and I thought that it needed to be discounted more with that kind of mileage.
Try to find the exact invoice price of the car thru edmunds with all the installed options. There is a rebate upto $4000 on this car. So try get it for a price less than or equal to invoice - $4K.
I got my wagon few weeks back for $4.5K less than invoice, refer to my posting #881.
Good Luck!
I am negotiating a deal right now for $500 off invoice. This car is a manual, bose, side airbags, roof rack, moonroof and the homelink with compass. Total price after the $4000 rebate in california will be $19750 plus tax/liscense.
I test drove a Saab, Subaru, and an Audi. For the money, the Mazda is far better..
For someone who does not care about the leather package, they are advertising a total cost of $16799 for an automatic. That's a good deal.
My thinking regarding that person and the dealer demo, way overpriced when you can get a new one with 50 miles for less money!!
Happy hunting,
jc
Sounds like a good, if not great, price to me. Please keep us informed about your purchase and dealer experience. I'm 5 mi. away & interested in a 6s.
I looked at used MPV's last yr. & ended up in Raleigh buying new. Good price & good dealer. Cary turned me off with their price negotiations, but that was then.
Maybe I'll see you there before the end of the month.

I'm interested in a 2003 M6i 4-door sedan from an Internet Auto Dealer in Reno, NV. The car is silver, automatic, ABS, basic power options. The mileage is 18,000. The dealer says retail is about $18500 and they bought it wholesale for $15,700. I'm thinking this is pretty steep for a 2003 model with 18,000 miles. I was thinking about offering $13,500 to start. Is this too low for a car like this, and if so, what should I think about spending for an M6i with these specs.
Thanks.
looking at the invoice price of the car at about $17,500, with about $3000 in rebates - FOR A NEW ONE - I would say that you shouldn't pay over the $13,000 you are initially going to offer. I am sure you could get a new one for about $14,500.
s Grand Touring 4dr Sport Wagon at 100 below invoice.
Casey Mazda in Newport News, VA.
Dealt with old Sales Manager who is now GM.
This was before rebates of 2,000.
Armed with Edmunds invoice price, he took out invoice, and beat it by $ 100.
Awesome deal, awesome dealership.
Tell him I sent you from Virginia Beach!
Great Car. Was in and out of Dealership within 1 Hour.
Best dealership experience in my life, and this car handles like my neighbors BMW
If anyone knows where to find it, that would be great. I have asked one dealer that I have been corresponding with - but I haven't heard anything back yet.
This is for the Sedan. May be more for the Wagon.
>$2,250 rebate + $750 dealer cash + $1000 rebate if financed through MAC. This is only $250 more than last month for this area.
Is this incentives for 04 or 05?
Thinking trading my 03 Accord for a 05 Mazda6s when the price is right.
Thanks
It has:
Luxury Package
Bose system and changer
Moonroof
Side Airbags
Wheel Locks
Everything I wanted except for factory roof rack rails and crossbars.
why would you choose an 05 over an 04? just curious to know if there is something better on the 05 than the 04....except for the automatic....that I understand.
Is the 05 incentive $1500 cash plus $1000 MAC? or just $1500 cash?
I am thinking of buying in 04' (Raleigh, NC) anyone out there know of a good place that has good prices? I was looking at new 04s at Capital Mazda but they were running over 20K for a 6s
If I were purchasing an automatic, I would probably pay the extra for an 05. - but that's just me.
what sort of options are you looking to have on the car?
Also, looking at the consul, I think I would be tough to add my own stereo to it. Anyone else have this problem??
As far as the stereo is concerned, I have been told it is nearly impossible to add a different stereo. Things like - keeping the car for a month to create a special fiberglass console came up. However, I read some other people's messages that have said that the stock stereo is really good, and you can add different speakers to the system and it sounds really good. If I were to get one with the stock stereo, I would get a 5 Channel Amp (or similar) and add my own Sub and run all the speakers through that thing and It would sound really good. However, I don't think there are any RCA's on the back of the stereo.
As far as the price is concerned, you got me - I think various regions have different costs. Where I am at, I have basically told them I won't discuss anything over Invoice pricing, and they have quickly come down. The rebates sound right though. You should ask them if they have the $1000 MAC rebate too. Right now if you finance through Mazda you get an extra $1000 - but, that ins't nationwide.
No BS- He shows you invoice, all the rebates,
Incredible deal, we bought 6S, my daughter test drove the Accord, and Camry, and like dthe 6S the best.
Great dealership, wish I could mention the GM name!!!!!!
Hall Mazda in Virginia Beach- Complete opposite-
They even tried to put in "Window Etching", and
Pin stripping for additional $500.
Casey was a 35 minute drive to save thousands, with none of this despicable sales tactics like Hall.
04 Mazda6 Sedan 6 series
Automatic
This car has a rear wing spoiler even though it isn't on the options and the price anywhere.
They made a mistake on their webpage offering a rebate (2750) that expired on Jan 3 saying they will honor it (rebate now is 2250).
The car has 1600 miles which they are knocking off $300 for. I have no idea if that's a good deal.
The deal was for Invoice + $300 which is $21,472 according to the invoice sheet he showed me and about right with Edmunds.
So $21,472 - $300 (miles) - $2750 (rebate) - $1000 (MAC rebate hopefully I can get) - $500 (grad rebate) = $16,922
The doc fee and other fees seem right.
So any thoughts on this deal? The car looks great and sounds good with the breaks I'm getting, just worried about the mileage (first time buyer).
Rebate is now 500 (2250)less in gulf states, but there is 750 dealer incentive. Other regions have 3000 rebate with no dealer incentives. In general I'd say that invoice minus all rebates and dealer incentives is a fair deal on an 04.
16K sound like a good deal to me BTW
There are about 4 different cars I am looking at, and the base price is different on the cars. When I say Base price - I mean the price without any options.
The base price on some is 22,045, and the base price on another one is 22,345.
The issue to me is - I like the one that is for 22,345 more (because of the options), but $300+ interest is 2 plane tickets back home, so, if there isn't a real valid reason why the base price is more, then I am not sure why I would need to pay that price.
Anyone know what/why?
I am comparing 2 sedans.
But thanks.
- MSRP $28,565
- Dealer Invoice $25,969 (which includes $520 destination & $200 advertisement fee)
- $ 4,000 Mazda incentive
- $ 21,969 total price (not including tax etc...)
- $ 6,596 discount from MSRP
When asked the dealer said the best negotiated price they could give was about 500 more than the S plan (this do not include any hard negotiations on my part). A quick review of internet prices for a similar model and options showed a MSRP discount of the same amount - about 6500 dollars. My concern is at this time of year I should probably be able to negotiate a better price on a 04 than the S plan; others in this forum recently seem to be getting better relative discounts from MSRP. Any thoughts? Thanks

I got the price by having dealers match Dallas prices. I started by searching the internet for Texas dealers with good prices. Try freemanmazda.net and and townnorthmazda.com. Both are dallas dealers. I also went to mazdausa.com to verify that they had similar cars as those in Houston. I started at Jay Marks and told them that townnorth was giving 2000 of all 6's. They agreed to match. I told them that anybody will match. Give me 2500 off and I will buy today. They said they couldn't do that. I knew 2500 was high but they didn't have the exact car I wanted so I added 200. The next day I went to Jeff Haas. I told them that Jay Marks would do 2000, and at 2300 I would buy today. They countered at 2150 and I accepted.
Also note prices at ingrampark.com. A San Antonio dealer. Super low prices, but one only, rather than all cars. I have no idea if they will really honor this price at ingrampark. I didn't try and get a dealer to match, because I hadn't seen the ad at the time.
Lastly. I spoke with the internet manager at Jeff Haas. I have had issues with this dealer. The internet manager is the best guy there, but I have issues with the sales manager. Essentially a scratch was noticed after paperwork but before delivery. I refused delivery and they reluctantly took it back after arguing. They fixed the car. When car was picked up it was 8pm. Too dark to see, so they said take it home and call if problems. Called at 10 am to report that there was a second scrath. Salesman said it bring it in. Brought it in and manger refused to fix the scratch. After a lot of arguing and threatining to write Mazda they fixed the car. Talked to Gillman also. They are willing to deal. I'd go to Gillman or Jay Marks.
I am in the progress of trading in my 03 Accord 4DRs LX auto to 05 Mazda6s Auto. It is good to hear that you have no regret on the trade. I am just a little concern on the reliability on the Mazda. My 03 Accord has no problem in 23 months of ownership, and consumer report now not recommand Mazda6.
Thanks
I will look into the web sites you mentioned. I have a feeling I can get a better rate at my credit union - even a used rate. ANyone know if there is a minimum time the car must be financed through MAC to completely pay it off?
