I am not sure why I got a different technical service bulletin when they updated my software last month. The original TSB was dated 12/05/05. I wonder if I have the update to the 12/05/05 TSB?
The mp3 disk we tried works fine in my in-house DVD players, so I expected it to work in the Pac. If anyone is successfully playing MP3 disks, can you tell me how you set it up when you burned it? I simply have the whole list of files in the root directory of the CD (ie, no folders). The disk, regardless if i try it in the single-cd slot or in the dvd-changer, just results in "error" being displayed.

Good Luck. Keep us posted.
Most modern DVD players will play such a disc. Can anyone confirm if the Pac DVD (or CD) player can play an MP3 disc?

I use music match and other programs to record mp3's. Check the way that you recorded the disc.

What is excessive?
However, having said that, if the oil consumption continues to drop as the miles accrue, that's maybe not such a good sign.

I have a 1999 Intrepid with the 3.2L engine (baby brother of the 3.5L). Purchased new and synthetic oil since 3000 miles every 3000 miles. Early on (approx 15k miles) I noticed about 1/3 to 1/2 quart of oil consumption every 3000 miles. However this has not changed in the 70000 miles the car has been driven.
Real synthetic oil is manufactured (Synthesized) to have certain physical properties. When compared to "regular"oil distilled from crude oil these include:
Greater heat stability.
Tighter viscosity range.
Better film forming.
Lower volatility.
Better lubricity.
I do not think that anyone would tell you that real synthetic oils are not better than "dyno" oils. The question is: is the additional cost worth it to you?
Also, make sure that you are buying a real synthetic oil if you are paying the extra $. To the best of my understanding Castrol Syntec is not synthetic oil. There was a law suit several years ago by Mobil against Castrol about what classified as synthetic oil and the result was that if you say it is synthetic oil it is synthetic oil.

thank you for any support- fellow frustrated PAC owner, no one is listening and i need out of this unsafe/unreliable car. i won't even drive this car with the Black recorder Box on it.
When I price a 2006 AWD Pacifica with the U package on edmunds and configure it on the chrysler website I get an MSRP of 34,375, but the dealer has one with a sticker on it for 34,175. I have cross checked but can't find a difference and the dealer is pretending he doesn't know why, of course. Any help?
We had the same thing happen when we bought our '05. The dealer had 3 exactly identicle ones sitting there, one was about $150 cheaper than the other 2 for no apparent reason. The dealer didn't know why until I pointed out the one was built several months before the others.

I was successful when I pushed the service advisor inside the car, closed the door, electrically locked the car (with the remote), and then yelled at her:
"Now get out !"
Then they fixed it.
If still they don't fix yours, and if it's hot outside, perhaps you could leave the service rep for some time in the car ...
I don't know, you would think they would make a greater effort to keep the customer happy. Now I have to go back, show them again, only for them to say..."we have to order the part". More expense on the part of Chrysler cuz you know I'm going to get a rental again @ $40/day. Waste of money on the manufacturer end if you ask me. I tell you, I really feel for these drivers w. problem Pacs. If they can't diagnose bad door switches, we are all screwed.
God, I hope they send me a survey for this one. I am eager to rip them a new orifice.
Good luck... The failing grade survey does nothing!!! Sometime it makes me think that it goes directly from the mail clerk to the shredder machine.
Before you send the survey in, make a photocopy, then personally hang it in to the service manager and politely explain to him why you are doing it... It works. For some of the problems I have, instead of NFF (No Fault or No Code Found) the service manager invited me to take him for a ride when I pick up my car. The result: He discovered the problem that the technician missed and the car returned back to the shop.
You could do it my way OR rodut's way (doors lock). Make sure out side is 110 degree then DO IT!!!
So I do believe that a 5 star dealership does take a hit when the parent co. gets negative feedback. We will see how this particular dealership responds IF I get a survey.
Regarding the lock problem. I guess I have to stick around and make sure the service manager sees the problem switch when I bring it in again. I guess I expected too much from them.
There is just one bottom line here. PASSION is missing. All of them are doing it for a paycheck. The car is nice, I still like it, but it isn't and it will never be perfect, because perfection is the logical result of passion. Which is missing ...
I mean come on ... in the 21st century manufacturing a perfectly silent front end is a problem for DaimlerChrysler ?!?! There is no other possible explanation for this.
I hope your car gets fixed but try to enjoy it anyway.
The fit an finish of the interior is excellent and we love the wood and suede seats. The Sirius and Bluetooth are terrific and I use them much more than I thought. My one complaint is that the controls on the steering wheel are not lit at night. I suspect the lights are in there but just aren't wired. I have had many luxury cars including BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Q45 (great car), Audi, Lincoln etc. This vehicle compares very favorably to any of these. The dealer has been really fine both in sales and service. So I have no complaints..at this point. If it continues this way I would consider another lease in two years. I just think it is a terrific and interesting vehicle.
More will appear over time, but the first stuff being moved out is to the new Chrysler Pacifica: Starting/Stalling Problems discussion.
Just curious ... why you bought another Chrysler, if your 99 Intrepid was so bad ?
The Pac seemed to meet all my needs in what I was looking for. Roomy, very safe planted road feel. Very refined. Nice firm brake feel. Hopefully, I will be able to say that 5 years from now.
God forbid this one turns out to be a problem. I might have to buy...........buy............I can't say it.............a.....TOYOTA. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHH
Were you the one with the front end noises? Did you ever read this:
http://www.edmunds.com/news/column/letters/101557/article.html
Regards.
Also I don't have "cracking" sound, but a "clunking" sound (coming from the front, right side wheel). They already tried 4 times to fix it. After the 4th attempt they accepted to write on the service papers that it was still clunking. Obviously they can't fix it. There is no lemon law in Canada.
It's a pity because it's the nicest car I ever drove. Even if I would succeed to get rid of it, I really don't know what I could like, after driving the Pacifica.
