I read somewhere that dealerships are prohibited from increasing the interest rate by more than 1% (i.e., .0004). Is that true? (I read that here (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146090), but that's for BMW. I think the Audi dealership said they can't go more than .5% (i.e., .0002).)

I have "A" credit rating. I was quoted a 3.4% interest rate on a 2014 Audi A4, Quattro, Premium Plus, with MMI Navigation and some extras on a 42-month lease. Assuming they are inflating by 1%, does that mean that the manufacturer's base rate is 2.4% on that car or maybe even 2.9% (if they can inflate by only .5%)? That seems high.

Also, I'm confused; the talk in here suggests that the interest rate depends on your credit rating. If that's true, then I guess my first assumption (i.e., can't raise by more than 1%) must be false, right? If your credit rating is a D, then surely the dealership must be able to raise by more than 1%, right?

The .0004 is a BMW thing... I'm not sure of Audi's rules, as far as markups..

One thing to lessen confusion.. if you are looking strictly at a lease, don't try to convert it to an APR... You just have to convert it back to do the lease calculations..

The base rate for top tier on 2014 A4 Quattro Premium Plus for a 42 month lease is .00096. If you drop to a 36 month term, the base rate is .00076

What money factor were you quoted? Because, Audi doesn't use APRs on their leases..

I was actually quoted 3.4% APR. They didn't mention the money factor, but my calculations shows that it is .0015. My credit rating is 800+.

The finance guy at the dealership also said that Audi does not allow an increase in the APR by more than .5%, which I find highly suspect.

Car: 2014 A4, AWD, Premium Plus, MMN Navigation, Metallic Paint, Grill Strips, Wood Inlay, All-Weather mats, First Aid Kit
    MSRP: $44,620
    Negotiated price: $42,500
    Lease Term: 42 months
    Down payment: Approximately $1,000

I picked up an A4 P+ a couple of weeks ago at the base rate of .00076 (1.82%). If you are being quoted 3.4%, and have 800 FICO, you need to find a different dealership as the one you're currently talking to lacks integrity if they are saying 3.4% is the base rate.
  • eyc908eyc908 Member Posts: 15
Yea, I thought something didn't sound right. When I grilled him about it, he said that Chicago is unique and has higher APRs. Is there any merit to that statement? He also told me that Audi does not allow the dealership to raise the APR by more than .5%. Any merit to that, as well? Or is this guy full of it?
  • kmurkmur Member Posts: 36
I guess it possible that there are regional variations, but the gap between 1.8% and 3.4% is simply too large to be explained away by regional differences.

I have superb credit. What is the current money factor for a 2014 Audi A4 Sedan?
What is a good selling price?
What is a good residual for Northern NJ?
    Are there any incentives?
Premium Plus, MMI Nav, Audi Side Assist, Cold Weather Pkg included, 36 months, 15K mileage
  • eyc908eyc908 Member Posts: 15
True. The difference is huge. Then again, there are some base rates for certain 2014 Audi vehicles that seem just as high (see: http://www.ridewithg.com/index.php/2013/09/2013-14-audi-lease-rates-september-20- 13/). Someone also told me that the MF/APR can be different for the same car depending on the term of the lease. Who knows. This is all very mysterious to me.

Are there any incentives on leasing this vehicle? I found a conquest incentive that pays if you are coming from a BMW or Mercedes, but I am coming from an infiniti so I don't think that applies
  • areyes1010areyes1010 Member Posts: 20
Yes, Quattro. I may also add Nav Plus, Side Assist, and maybe B&O sound. If so, will that change the money factor and residual?

They quoted me 56% residual and .00086 money factor without knowing my credit which is stellar.

    Your thoughts

Use the DIY Dealer Report from Inside Car Buying. The report calculates everything for you so car companies/dealers are unable to hide anything. The dealer I went to have me a very hard time. I had Inside Car Buying broker the deal for me. Bottom line, inside Car Buying is a wealth of information. The owner is very helpful and he saved me over $1,500.00 after factoring in his fees. My payment dropped about $50.00 per month in NJ.

    Hi Everyone.

I'm debating on whether or not to take on either of these leases for the same car. I feel like I can do better on Cap Cost:

    2014 Audi A4 Quattro Premium
    S-Line Package
    Side Assist
    B&A Sound
    Exterior: Phantom Black Pearl
    Interior: Black
    MSRP: $41,840.00
    Cap Cost: $39,705.00

Lease 1: All tax, title, tag, fees rolled into payments.
$0 Money down out the door
    36mo 12k/yr
    $610/mo

Lease 2: $1759 for TTT, and 1st payment
    36mo 12k/yr
    $537/mo

    Money Factor: 0.00057, 55% res

Which should I take, if any?
Should I try to negotiate Cap Cost lower?

P.S: This is my 1st lease ever.

    A4 2.0T QUATTRO TIPTRONIC - WHITE
    PREMIUM PLUS PACKAGE
    AUDI MMI NAVIGATION PLUS PACKAGE
    Bang & olufsen Sound System
Audi Guard all weather floor mats
    Cargo net

10k miles per year for 36 months

    MSRP: $44,345
Offered $42,738 (w/ $3923 at signing and $498 Monthly before tax)

    Now Negotiated: $41,000

    Residual 56%
MF (he told me a little above 1% APR, he didn't tell me the MF)

Due at signing $1850 (that's $0 down, just fees only? Isn't that high)?

    Monthly payment $501 before tax

    Is this a good deal?

Anyone have better deal? I have 800+ credit

    Thanks for any input
  • kcc13kcc13 Member Posts: 4
I think that's an amazing deal... definitely beats mine (right above yours).
With Audi Financial, I think a credit score of 740+ qualifies you for the best rates (in FL at least). Not sure about the $1850 due at signing, but it does look pretty competitive to me.
  • kcc13kcc13 Member Posts: 4
Alright...so I ended up turning both of these leases down and signing for this one with another dealer:

    2014 Audi Quattro Premium Plus
    36 months 12k/yr
    Sport Package
    S-Line Package
MMI Navigation Plus with Audi Connect
    B&O Sound
    Moonlight Blue Metallic
    MSRP: $44,685.00
$0 Cash due at Signing (All taxes and fees rolled into lease)
Monthly payment: $601 with Audi Care
    Money factor: 0.00058

I think I did pretty well for my first lease.

    kcc113,

Do you mind posting your residual, as well as lease duration and mileage allowance?
    What state are you in?

    Thank you!
  • kcc13kcc13 Member Posts: 4
    Sure,
Audicare added 1% residual, so 56%.
Lease duration is 36 months and allowance is 12,000/year.
    State: Florida
I think the dealer was trying to get rid of this car because it was manual. According to truecar, I got it right between 'great price' and 'unusually low'

    Hi All,

Was offered this deal at a NYC dealership.

    2014 Audi A4
    Quattro Prem Plus (no navigation)
    42 Months
    MSRP: 40,295
    Capital Cost: 36,932
    Money Factor: .00078
    Residual: 51%

    Monthly Payment is $435.

Total due at signing is 2,636 which includes the below:
    Acquisition fee: 695
    Fees & Insurance: 170
    Taxes: 1,771.45 (8.875%)

    Is this a good deal?

I think I will ask them to change the lease term to 36 months and maybe knock off the $170 fee.

    Thanks!

Need MF and Residual for A4 Premium Plus + 15K + 36 month lease.

Went to a dealer in Houston and was quoted $669.00 for Premium Plus + Navi + Side Assist.

When I asked how much is the MF, the salesperson said he's not sure but it's what Audi gace them, which of course is BS.

In TX - how much should be monthly payment for 15K + Premium Plus with Navi. Thanks.

Can we shop in other states and drive the car back to Texas of we get a good deal?

Sorry about the Q5 typo in the previous post. We're shopping for both Q5/A4 and trying to compare the rates. Since this is the A4 thread, let me stick to A4 info.

    Thanks kyfdx.

Are these residuals and MF's same across states or can these numbers be changed/manipulated by the dealers?

$669.00 for 2014 A4 + Navi + Side Assist seems way out of the norm.

What should I target for 2014 A4 + Navi + Side Assist in Texas per month for a 36 month lease?
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 236,830
Audi dealers can mark up the money factor for extra profit, and many do.. The residuals are set by the finance company and can't be changed..

Audi lease programs aren't that great to start with, and if the deal isn't a great one, they can get really expensive..

    The numbers are national..

Thinking about getting a 2014 Audi A4 FWD Prem Plus, Nav, Audi Side Assist. I'm in So Cal. This is what I was quoted:

    MRSP: $41,745.00
    Invoice: $39,603.59
    Your ePrice: $38, 103.59
    With $1,700 out of pocket
    10,000 miles @ 36 months
    Monthly: $495.63 (including tax)
    Residual 54%: $22,542.30
    Money Factor: 0.00037

Is this a good deal? Thanks for any help!

    Assuming tax is about 8.5%?

Base money factor and over 8% off MSRP... looks good to me... the numbers look correct..

The lease program is nothing to write home about, but I think you did as well as you could with the variable numbers..

I been talking to the sales guy at Audi about getting a 2014 A4 Allroad Prem Plus, the car they wants to sell me has the following options: B&O Audio, Audi Connect, ipod cable, PNY MMI nav system and Prem Plus Package, and free Audi Maint Care...

They said my current 2009 A4 Q Prem Plus Sedan with 40k miles on it is worth $17,000.00 in near perfect condition, seems low?

    Credit applied to lease
    Audi Incentive of $1000.00
    Total rebates of $1,495.00
    Trade in net trade $3,000.00
    ------------------------------------
    MRSP: $48,595.00
    Selling Price: $44,859.00
    With $2000 out of pocket
    12,000 miles 42 months
    Monthly: $495.40 (including tax)
    Residual .53%: $25,755.00
    Rate/Money Factor: 1.25
    Doc Fee: $80.00
    Acquistion Fee $695.00
Maint 820.00 ( they said this was free if it's audi maint care? )
    Lic Fee $402.04
    Cap Fees $23.75
    Cap Taxes 416.04
    Gross Cap Cost $45,703.05
    -----------------------------------
    Net Cap Cost 41,364.30

So what I don't see in any of this is the 1000.00 audi incentive cash, and if the Maint care is free why the 820.00 fee and I am not sure about the other fee's in line or not?

Much Thanks for any input on this deal, just seems a little whack with a 4 year and the other stuff going on here..

I am curious if the lease I negotiated is a good deal:

    2014 a4 premium 2.0 with s-line package.

    $2000 out of pocket
    Purchase price: $31,575
    42 months
    10,000 miles/year
    Residual 50%
    Money factor .057
    Monthly payment $321 plus tax

    Any input greatly appreciated!

I wanted to know if the deal I got is good.
I have Friends and family certificate which makes the deal at Invoice + $300 + Tax and fees.

    MSRP: $44,525.00
    Invoice: $41,892.15
    Down: $3500.00

    10k miles/year for 42months

Trade-In: $1500 negative equity but rolled in the above price

The dealer doesn't want to provide me RV and MF but when I ran through my credit with them, it was Tier A

Monthly Payment $547.00 incl. tax and fees and all negative equity I have on my current car.

Thanks in advance for your input on this deals.
