Sorry, they are hosing you big time.... I live on the Big Island and I ended up ordering a car from the LA area. Even though I had to pay $1200 to ship it here, I saved a ton over the Hawaii dealers. If I was you... I would contact Greg at Pacific BMW and see if they can work something out for you. On a side note....do NOT put down 4k on a lease. If you want to save money, use multiple security deposits. For each MSD, you reduce the money factor by .0007. In my case I save exactly $40 per month on my payment.

thanks for the feedback on this.... though once the lease is done, do you have to ship it back to them?

what do you pay for your model?

what in your opinion would be a "fair" price for the model i want?

sorry for all the questions but it is truly appreciated.

thanks for the feedback! do you think that if it dropped by $25.00 per month, that it would be a "good" deal for what i am getting?

just seeking other opinions... thank you!

Sorry.. it's hard for me to keep up with the market on each individual make, unless I'm actively shopping for it..

Other members are probably a better resource for what is a good deal.

    Hey guys,

I am interested in leasing a BMW. I am a returning customer, so I apply for the loyalty cash. This is the offer I got. I previously financed a 2008 328i using these forums as a resource to get as close to what I thought was a great deal as possible.

    Cash due at signing: $5,599

This includes $2750 downpayment, 1st month payment, acquisition fees, MV fees, Doc fees, taxes.

Monthly payment of $315 for 36 months (10k miles)

This is information on the car:

2013 BMW 320xi Mineral Grey Metallic with black dakota leather. It has heated front seats and premium package which includes moonroof, power seats comfort access and satellite radio. MSRP $41,175 selling price $35,000.

Now... What is everyone's opinion? I apologize if I seem novice, but this is a new venture for me (Leasing).

We are taking delivery of a custom order 2014 328i xDrive Gran Turismo in about a week and are wondering if October lease rates have been released yet? Our term will be 36 months and 12k miles/yr.

Thanks for any help CarMan or others can provide!

    2013 328xi Sedan 24m, 10K/yr lease
    .00125 MF and 65% residual...

The coupe has the same money factor and a 69% residual.

The 36 month residuals are just 6% lower, and a much better deal..

You can return the car to any BMW dealer. My cap cost on the lease was 35212.00 on MSRP 39200, I believe invoice was 36000. My payment is 340 per month, with about $1500 drive off, plus 2450 for MSD's. I am going to write off my shipping costs as moving expenses, since I moved to another island.

On a fair price, if you are ordering custom, I would shoot for $1200 over invoice, with base money factor and $725 Acquisition fee. I don't know your exact build, but you should be able to go online and price it out. I also see they padded the cost with a $199 doc fee, pure profit for them. Also, definitely use the MSD's, I found that the guys in Hawaii really aren't all that educated about them. For example, when subtracting the .00049 from the money factor takes the payment to say $495, then it is $3500 for the 7 msd's. It is a really good return on your money, totally refundable after the lease, even if the car gets stolen or totaled, you still get your MSD's back.

You should never put cash down to lower the cap cost on a leased vehicle. If something happens to the car, you have lost all of that money, plus you will be taxed on any "down payment" you make. I can not tell it the deal is any good since you have left out all of the pertinent information. What is the invoice for the car? What incentives do you quality for? What is the money factor they are giving you? The base fee is .00125. What are the other fees, Acquisition fee, base fee is $725, dmv, doc and any other charges they try to add into the deal.

Finally, put down MSD's, multiple security deposits, instead of a down payment. You can put down 7 MSD's, which each one reduces the money factor by .0007 for a total of .00049, which lowers the payment $30-40 dollars a month and is totally refundable to you at the end of the lease. Plus if something happens to the car, it is still refundable.

I'm not sure if you want to start a separate thread for the 4 series.

What is the MF (good credit) and RV for a 2014 BMW 435i with M sport package, 15K/year.

Hi, looking for the BMW FS money factors (lease rates) and residuals for either 36, 39 or 42 month leases at 15k miles per year on:

    2013 328i RWD sedan; and

    2014 328i RWD sedan

Thank you in advance. I'm in Southern California if that matters.

    Hello,

I am looking for the October money factor and residual for a 36 month lease, 10K miles per year, for a 2014 335i XDrive M Sport.

Also would like to confirm incentives. I've seen $750 option allowance and $500 loyalty -- is there an additional $500 "turn-key payment credit" towards first month's payment?

    Thank you!

This is the quote I got from the dealer (in San Diego)

    Car With Options:

    Manual Transmission
Mojave Mettalic or Mineral grey metallic
    Sport Line
    Black SensaTec/Red Highlight
    High-Gloss Black Trim
    Technology Package
    Driver Assistance Package
    Harman Kardon surround system

    Term: 36 months, 10K/year miles
    MSRP: $46250
    SP: $42, 870
    Total Capitalized Cost: $43, 795(SP + $925 Bank Fee)
    Money Factor: 0.00125
    Residual: 61%
    Capital Reduction: ($542.85)
    Rebate: $500
    License & Registration: $374.75
    Doc Fee: $80
    Drive off: $500
    Due at signing: $0

    Monthly payment: $581.70 (inc. tax)

The agent tells me this price is based on invoice + $500 (invoice: $43, 210) and includes a $750 option discount.

The cap reduction & rebate basically negates my first month payment + license/registration + doc fee...meaning $0 due at signing.

Is this a good deal? Why is the cap cost reduction negative (is he giving me a credit?). Is the $500 rebate what he is alluding to as option discount?

I know reading the forums that the base acquisition fee is $725, I guess that is the bank fee in the quote?

According to true car, the factory invoice with these options is $42, 955. Do I still have room to negotiate?

Can I still pay multiple security deposits and bring the monthly payment down?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to make an informed decision!

your numbers are not adding up correctly in my lease calculator. I am coming up with about 499 per month tax included for California. I think there is something they have added into the deal. Also, a clearer picture of all the fees would help. If you have the info there are plenty of lease calculators out there. Finally, all deals with BMW you can use MSD's, it is a great return on your deposit. I would recommend you send your build to Greg Poland at Pacific BMW and get a quote from him.

Thanks for your prompt feedback. I got a excel lease calculator from a friend (not sure about the original source), and when I feed in the numbers above, the monthly payments exactly match (to the cents) to what I was quoted.

What other information is needed to take any uncertainty out of the calculations?

I will surely get a quote from Greg, thanks for the pointer.

I'm finalizing the deal for a new lease which will have to be custom ordered and arrive in Nov/December. As this is my first trip down this leasing path I was hoping for some input:

2014 custom order 328i Sport line, mineral grey metallic
    Leather seat upgrade
    Lighting package
    Driver assistance package

    MSRP $44,575
Selling Price $40,080 + Lease acquisition Fee $925= 41,005 Capitalized Cost (8% off MSRP)...this includes the $750 October options credit.
MF .00125 base rate, 60% residual for 36mo 12k per year
Monthly payment $480.80 per month before state sales tax

Drive off first months payment and $487 fees+insurance ($331 DMV reg, $80 doc fee, $7 tire fee, $20 county fee, $29 electronic filing, $20 smog abatement fee)

This actually seems like a really good deal and I'm quite tempted but thought I would post and hopefully get some of the valuable wisdom from the internet to be sure I'm not making any mistakes since this is my first lease.

Finally...I'm applying for the college grad $1000 rebate, hoping for an increase in incentives on the order of $250 (usually $1000 holiday cash hor the 328i historically) for Nov/Dec when the car gets ordered, and putting down 7MSDs for a total monthly payment $411.93 +$4480 drive off (largely the deposit...not cap cost reduction)

    Any thoughts?

hmmm... I re ran your numbers thru the edumunds lease calculator. using a LA zip code and it comes up to 551. However, are you sure that there is not any money coming from you. I don't know how they can do a cap cost reduction without money from you, other than rebates or incentives. Also, how is the first payment being made? Is there some other rebate or incentive that you are getting? I am using only $500 out of pocket from you. Do you have the dealer worksheet? If I was you, being that LA is so close, send your build to Greg Poland at Pacific BMW and obtain an comparison quote.

    Msrp: $61,775
    Sale price: $58,500

    36 months / 12,000 miles per year

I actually show $1250 in incentives.. $750 option credit cash and $500 loyalty.. What we don't know, is if he figured those credits into the CAP cost...

Your numbers would imply a payment of about $715 + tax... Does $749 include the tax? If so, then depending on your tax rate, it looks like the incentives may have already been taken into account.

Startups? That can mean almost anything the dealer wants it to.... but, you've got $750 1st payment, $725 acquisition, title/license fees ($100-$500), and maybe a dealer or doc fee.. So, $2200 might have a little padding, or it might be about right..

I have a $1000 certificate from the BMW ultimate driving event burning a hole in my pocket. It expires 10/31/13 so must take delivery by then.

Can I get MF/Residual on lowest mileage lease available for the 320i. For 13 or 14 model year. for 24 month lease.

Also, what is excess mileage charge for BMW? I was reading on a forum from an "expert" in the field that he always recommends leasing with the lowest mileage available, even if you plan on driving more than that. He had numerous rationale but the main one that stuck with me was that you can sell the car for more than the residual in most cases and avoid paying the excess mileage fees. I drive about 18K miles per year. I mean if you drive 30k miles per year I don't think his rationale is going to hold up, but I find it interesting and would have to do the math. Does anyone have any input into this? Does BMW charge a fee for selling the vehicle...I understand some leasing companies do charge a fee so it would make this less plausible.

    2013 320i 36mo, 15K/yr lease
.00125 MF and 54% residual $2000 build out cash and $500 loyalty/conquest cash.

    2014 320i 36mo, 15K/yr lease
.00125 MF and 60% residual $500 option credit cash and $500 loyalty cash

I quoted 15K/yr, because the higher mileage tiers are the cheapest miles you can buy, and you said you drive 18K/yr... BMWFS charges $0.20/mi overage, last I checked... Up until 6 months to go on your lease, you can buy extra miles from BMWFS for $0.16/mi. Extra miles (over 15K) are $0.15 each upfront.

Always take the highest mileage tier that you know that you will use.. Because BMWFS allows you to buy extra miles later in the lease at a discount, I woudn't purchase any extra, upfront..

If you have a really cheap lease, it usually means the residual is unrealistically high, so the chances of selling the car for more than the residual becomes less likely.. (this is the kind of lease you want). Assuming that you'll be able to sell a lease for more than they payoff is a gamble, and leasing companies keep making it harder to flip your car before the lease is up.

It might work out the way your "expert" says it will... but, it might not. On a $35K car, the extra 15K miles you get from going from 10K/yr to 15K/yr will cost you $1050 (3% of the MSRP in extra depreciation) That is only $0.07/mi.. If you don't take the 15K/yr allowance at lease inception, you can't change it later..

great explanation to clarify the picture! would you happen to know how much the residual value is adjusted (for a 2013 328i)when we purchase miles during the lease period & 6 or more months prior to the lease end? Is it $ for $ or some % of MSRP? Thanks!

Can anyone confirm if you can do MSDs in New York? I was told previously that you cannot. Thanks.

$0.15/mile over 15K/yr, if you buy upfront... $0.16/mi., if you purchase through BMWFS prior to 6 months from expiration (they will even pro-rate the mileage charge over your remaining payments).. or, $0.20/mile at lease end..

Higher priced models may have differing per mile charges..

    You can not.. in NY..

But, many NY leasers say they've leased from NJ dealerships, and have had no issues with MSDs..

The problem with leasing (or buying) from NJ or CT dealerships is that doc fees aren't capped like in NY. So just beware of the bottom line;)

thanks but I was asking about how the residual value is adjusted (for eg for lease end buy out purposes). In my case for 15k/yr for 3 years it was set at 62% of MSRP so if I buy 5000 miles @$.17/mile does is go down by the exact same amount i.e LBO=62%*MSRP - (5000*0.17) or some other calculation was what I was wondering about - any chance thats published somewhere? thx
