Hi isingh. BMW's current advertised payment for the 2011 535i GT assumes a discount of $7,380, so I suspect that these cash incentives are indeed being taken into account. Having said that, most manufacturers' official advertised payments leave a little meat on the bone so to speak. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if you were able to negotiate a lower selling price than the one that was used to arrive at the advertised payment.

    MSRP $53,175
    Sale 51,000
    Paid 5k cash down
    Lease end value 30,841 (58%)
    (Premium package 1 and 2)

    36 month / 10k miles per year
    $745 a month including tax

Thoughts? This is my first lease I would appreciate any information.
  • chadmandelchadmandel Member Posts: 11
AWFUL! BMW.com is advertising $579/month for 10K miles with only $3200 down. Your sale price is 96% of MSRP--do your research on edmunds.com to find invoice pricing. That's what you should pay--especially when they're trying to get rid of last year's model.
  • cre8ivecre8ive Member Posts: 2
Hey Chad, thanks for the post... I do see that they have the 528i

    '$497 per month
    36 Months

MSRP $46,675 36months 10k miles per year. $3,950 cap cost reduction. Excludes first payment, bank fee of $925, dealer fee $689, tax, tag, title, & registration fees. All offers with approved credit.'

On my website. My MSRP was 53175...

I did research on edmunds and found the invoice price to be ~49k... and met them halfway at 51k.

I don't know enough about leasing to understand why the difference in price per month varies how it does in these two examples. I am heading back in there tomorrow and want to be as prepared as possible. Any other information would be appreciated from anyone. Thank you.

All my calculations show that I got a good deal given my numbers, but I might be doing something wrong, or maybe did something wrong along the way through negotiations.

10k enough for you a year? Y pay 5k in cash? Keep the cash flow next time, also should have negotiated 4k off or so on msrp
  • chadmandelchadmandel Member Posts: 11
You should be able to pick up a 2011 for invoice. They want to get rid of them! $2000 over invoice is a ripoff.

The deal you quoted above seems wrong. Check out this link:

Hi, first time poster. Can someone please chime in if I'm getting a good deal?

2011 535i with Act vent seats, Premium pack 1 and 2, BMW apps.

    MSRP with all options: $61025.00

    36month, 15K miles/year, 0 down, $750/month, 56% residual.

At signing, 1st month + acq fees.

Is this reasonable? Thanks to the leasing gurus!

    Update to this deal:

58% res and .00195 MF as new BMW customer

    Hi,

I am to pick up a lease during September. Here are my specs:
    (1) I have an elite rating
    (2) I am turning in my last lease - 328i and upgrading to the 535xi - so loyalty is applied
    (3) Car has Cold Weather Package, Preminum Package, Navigation Package, Graphite color, Smart Integration
    (4) MSRP - $59,125
    (5) Cash required on delivery is $4,000 (includes 1st month payment, Acquistion Fee, Upfront Taxes, Fess & Insurance)
    (6) 3 years 10K miles
    (7) BMW special kick back $1,700 approximately is applied

    Final monthly payment: $633.14

Is this a good / great deal on a 2011?

    Thanks,

    howiesr

just got an offer on a 2011 528i with cold weather pacakage, premium package, ipod, sat radio. MSRP: 49,175. Negotiated down to 44,732.75. Residual is .55

They need $3500 down for 659.61 a month lease payment.

Think I have any wiggle room there? Dont want to drop 3.5k at signing.

    Thanks.

No problem beemer550. BMW Financial Services' September buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 550xi Sedan for a non-returning customer with 15,000 miles per year are still .00195 and 59%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

I don't believe that BMW is currently providing any cash incentives on leases of this car.

Hello pitbull666. BMW Financial Services' September buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 528i with 15,000 miles per year are .00195 and 55%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a 2011 535i are .00195 and 56%.

If you are a loyal customer these cars' money factors are .00030 lower.

BMW is currently providing a $1,730 cash incentive on 528 and 535 models that have navigation and $1,000 on cars without it.

    General question:

    Looking at 2011 550i demo, 15,000 miles.

    selling 62,000 (?original MSRP)

    3500 DP, 10kmiles/yr

    $649 +taxes /month x 36 m.

    Warranty effectively 4 years/35,000 miles.

How much $ or percent off MSRP is reasonable with 15,000 miles on a loaner.?

    $649 + tax/ month reasonable for above?

with the 2012 coming out in October, can i expect better deals on the 2011s?

Why do you care about the warranty, if you are only driving it 30,000 more miles during the lease period? Won't it be under warranty the entire time?

Also, while we are on that subject... the time period on the warranty started when it was put in service... So, there isn't four years left on it..

Which might be something to check. If you are leasing for three years, make sure that demo isn't over a year old... then, you might have an issue.

There is no question i will go over 30,000 miles...
    hell, I'll probably do 50k ...
I'm deciding to either by more miles up front or wait...

At any rate, the chintzy 50k/4 year warranty reduced to 35k
will affect me (car is 2011)
(FWIW, MB and lexus, my recent cars, have 4-5 yr/100k)

More important to me is the question of a one time lease payment.

As per your prior response, i also believe BMW offers this option.

Yet, my salesguy says no - only up to 7 monthly security payments are allowed.

Could it be a dealer decision vs a USABMW policy?

Im collected all info ( Sticker price, asking price, packages, factor, residual)

to determine what discount is applied re: used /demo status.

    Your feedback is appreciated.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 236,681
The one-pay lease only makes sense if BMWFS is not offering a subsidized rate... as the discounted money factor is only from the standard rate..

Since BMWFS subsidizes rates on almost all models, then I wouldn't do a one-pay lease, and would take advantage of the Multiple Security Deposit program, instead..

If you are going to drive 12K or 15K per year, then it makes no sense to do a 10K lease... It is much cheaper to get the miles with the higher 15K/year program.. Also, if you are driving that much, the savings from leasing a demo may prove to be false, as you'll be out of warranty for a good portion of the lease.. If your driving fits the parameters of the 3yr/30K lease, then that demo might be a very good deal..

Another thing to keep in mind... The residual on a demo is reduced by (the current mileage - 500 miles) X $0.30/mile..

So, a vehicle with 14,500 miles would have a residual of $4200 less than a zero mile new model.

The issue of one time pay lease is not a choice for me.

Unfortunately, I have an issue with credit which will not be cleared up until end of year.

This situation precludes me from any monies loaned by BMW, or any other institution.

The one pay lease garantees BMW full payment - and costs me interest ...

My only criteria is that any monies not paid if the car is total loss (fire, theft, accident)

is returned...Effectively, its like pre-paid monthly payments x 36 months.

I will have more info on this since Im going to another BMW dealer this PM

    thx again

Can anyone confirm this additional allowance on remaining 2011 5 Series? I seem to think that it's a regional deal and perhaps only on 535ix? Either way, I'm not sure if it is there although AOL auto's says it is. Any thoughts? Thanks!

The best deal so far I got for 528i MSRP$50,525.00 (selling price $45,860.00 -- 36 Months Mileage 10,000/year Money Factor 1.85 Residual Factor 58% )

0 down with total drive off $2,099.94 (including first monthly payment; license; bank fee etc)
    Monthly Payment $598.93 Tax (8.75%) $52.41 Monthly Payment= $651.34

What do you think ? I think I can get better because some can get better MF.

CARMAN what is the MF and residual value for the above ? Thanks.

I have elite Credit. so i'm on .000185

so that makes my MF .000155
my question is that do i get $1000 off for loyal customer.

Either Or. or do i get both?

    Thanks

Guys - Appreciate your help in validating these numbers...

    MSRP: 68975
Agreed Upon Price: 59000 (remember 3500 build out cash and 1730 nav credit)
Tire Warranty: 1299 (am I overpaying?)
Trade In Credit: 3000 (car is actually worth 9000, shouldnt I use more of it to pay inceptions?)
Money Factor: 0.00185 (I'm top tier credit)
Actual Money Factor: 0.00136 (Am putting $4550 in security deposits)
    Taxes Up Front: 1566
    Acquisition: 725
Title: 236 (Should I be paying for title on a lease?)
Registration: 302.5 (I'm NJ - this number seems high)
    Doc Fee: 239.5
    NJ Tire: 6

    Monthly Payment: 640.83
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 236,681
Title fees: Even a leased car needs a title..

Registration: I think NJ charges for four years, upfront.. That would account for the size of the fee, if that is the case (don't take my word for it).

Upfront: Personally, I like to roll all of the inception charges into the lease.. I like the MSD program, but on my last lease, my due at signing was 1st payment plus MSDs only... (so, no.. don't put any more down or upfront).

Tire warranty: ACK!! $1300! I'd just put $1300 in the cookie jar and take my chances...

Other than that, it looks good from here (keep in mind, I don't know the base money factor...)

Hi all. Been following the thread for a while and learned a lot, thank you! My question is: I will be in the market to lease a 535i around November (Infiniti M35 lease ends in March, looking for BMW to buy out the last 3 months). My thoughts are that I would get a good deal on a 2011 in Nov/Dec. What do you professionals recommend? Will I get a better deal on the 2012? Will their be any 2011's left? Should I go for a 2011 earlier? I know the difference of the 2012 4-cyl engine, but don't really mind if I get a 2011 or 12, just looking for the best timing and best deal. I know their isnt any solid answer to my question, any suggestions? (I am a previouse BMW owner, so should qualify for the incentive)

    Thanks

    Eric

    kyfdx,

Thanks... My logic to putting all the inceptions upfront is that otherwise, I'm just paying interest on money when cashflow isnt the #1 issue for me. Am I missing something?

As for the tire warranty - is that price just entirely not what people are seeing or is it that the price of warranties isnt worth it, in your view?

Basy MF was 0.00185 and with the MSD's it became 0.00136

Lastly - is there any benefit to the dealer to listing the tire warranty as a cap-cost-reduction as opposed to calling it out in the agreement as a warranty? I find that to be a bit screwy.

Hi all, some quick questions regarding leasing 535 xi. Is the residual based on the cap cost or the MSRP? What additional costs does BMW charge? What I have figured is cap cost of 92% of MSRP based on AAA buying service, then I would apply the 1730 nav credit, 1500 regional credit and 1000 drive credit as money out of pocket. I get a payment of 725 including tax (7.75%)based on a MSRP of $63125, is this correct? I have a trade worth about 16k so I would get that up front back. If I apply that towards a purchase then I figure after tax I would be financing around 40k at 2.99 over 60 months I get almost the same payment . So the question is at 36 months am I more ahead with the lease or with the purchase and trade value vs loan balance?
