In keeping with not divulging specific info on here, my advice is:

Know what the invoice price is: available online plus MACO and training fee = $560 in S. Ca.

MF is 0.00185 on a 36 mo lease and resid is 56% for 15K miles, 58% for 12K miles and 59% for 10K miles. Use a lease calculator (available online). You cannot go wrong. Look at the dealer websites to find the color combo you want as you may have better luck going directly to them rather than getting another dealer to trade for that car or ordering. Good luck!

    Dear Car_man,

The information you provide here is very helpful. I was able to figure out/calculate excatly the current (March) lease offer on 528i posted on www.bmwusa.com. Details as follows:
    - $549*/month for 36 months
    - 10,000 miles per year

While the residual (61%) and MF (0.00190) you provided are key elements, buyers must realize that the dealer contribution ($1,525) and lease credit ($1,500) must be taken into account. These are not mentioned on the BMW website, a dealer happened to mention it in their lease offer page.

If the buyer is not aware of this, then the dealer may use it to its advantage.

I will surely keep an eye on your posts so I can head out to the dealer well prepared.

As a follow on to this trail, does anyone know if residual values are the same across the entire BMW line up? I'm getting 59% on a 2012 550i. Sound right? 10K miles/year.

    thanks in advance

I was able to get a salesman to agree to a selling price of $500 over invoice for a 2012 528Xi with tech package ($1685), premium package ($2050), sat radio w/ 1 year ($350), cold weather ($1320) and destination ($895).

The selling price was invoice ($51,535) plus $500 or $52,035. Is this a good deal? I struck this deal on Saturday the 17th in northern NJ.

    Was this a good deal?
  • zoombie99zoombie99 Member Posts: 320
Sounds like a good deal to me. When I pull the trigger on my car, I hope to get it for no more than 500 over invoice. I am in north jersey also.

I am about to turn in a 328 convertible. 2yr old in great condition. I was told to call around to dealers to see if someone wanted it for their used car fleet, and they may give us money to turn it in to them. Has any one heard of this? The 1st dealer sounded insulted.

Hey poykayil. Through April 2nd, BMW Financial Services' buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 535xi with 12,000 miles per year are .00185 and 58%.

The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a 2012 550xi are .00190 and 58%.

BMW is providing a $1,500 cash incentive on leases of these cars through BMW FS.

Hey comohombre. This is a national lease program. The dealer that quoted you the higher factor is marking it up in an attempt to add additional hidden, back-end profit to your deal. See if you can get them or another dealer to use the buy rate to work up your lease.

Hi zoombie99. It's difficult to say what BMW's lease programs will be like a couple of months from now. Last year its program for the 5-Series did not really change between March and April.

Hi akeyes. There's nothing wrong with getting out of your current lease early to lease a new 5 because BMW is running an official early lease termination program on it right now that will waive up to three remaining payments for free. The dealer doesn't have to pay anything to get you out of your deal early.

It would be easier for me to evaluate this deal for you if you provided me with this car's MSRP and approximate selling price. The selling prices of leased vehicles are negotiable, just as if you were paying cash for or financing them. Without this number it is more difficult to tell how large a dealer discount you are being given and in turn if there is any room left to negotiate. Let us know what these numbers are and I'm sure that either myself or another helpful community member will let you know what they think.

Also during your negotiations, keep in mind as a returning 5 customer you are eligible for a special .00060 money factor reduction from BMW's normal .00190 on this car.

Excellent point, ech7. The selling prices of leased vehicles are negotiable, just as if one was paying cash for or financing them. This is a very important thing to keep in mind when leasing.

Hi bmwfansf. the residual value that you were quoted is correct for a 36-month lease of a 2012 550i with 10,000 miles per year.

    Hi All,
After reading and lurking, it appears the questions cycle over and over (sorry) - I tracked my car from Bimmerheaven on the vessel Topeka until it pulled into NJ - my dealer says it should be ready for me April 5 - my prior lease isn't up till May - as the lease offers appear to continue the $1,500 rebate I'll probably pick up at end of April - do we know if the MF and Residual is the same as last month?
and while shooting for the moon, any predictions about May? I hate to lose the $1,500 - but the incentives otherwise did not look as appealing as they did until early January. Thanks!
  • zoombie99zoombie99 Member Posts: 320
It appears on the surface to be the same, still 669 for the 535xi base (as per the webt site) so it would appear the residuals and money factors haven't changed. Have you considered posting MSDs to lower your rate?

    Hello,

Can someone please post the lease rates for 2012 528i, in 10K, 12K and 15K, for month of April (MF, Residual, Incentives, etc.)

Another thing, can some one please post the BMWFS credit tiers?

    Thanks,

thanks Zoombie - i'm seriously considering MSDs - i presently have a Z4 that i'm keeping that has the maximum MSDs bringing the monthly payment down to ridiculously low levels - my dealer didn't suggest for hte 528ix but I will when it's time to pick up - still, i'd love to know the MF and residual for april for the 528ix 10k miles, please.
  • ckfernckfern Member Posts: 2
I got offered a 2012 535xi w 6500 miles. The msrp is $61,925 but he lowered it to $53,700. The sales person also said that if leased there would be an incentive of $1,500. Does this sound like a good deal? How does it work w demos, how can I find the best deal? What kind of payment would I be looking at? TIA!

I recently made an inquiry to the dealer and they have provided me with the credit tier categories. I think this info would be helpful for those considering a lease with BMWFS

    Super Elite/Elite/Standard: 675+ FICO

    Standard Plus: 640-674 FICO

    Progressive: 601-639 FICO

Progressive Plus: 600 or less FICO

They also quoted me for a 10K lease of 2012 528i with MF of 0.0019 and residual of 61%. $1,500 rebate is also available.

The MF are based on 675+ credit

ech7, this is a rebate IN ADDITION to the 1,500.00 credit. It is a post sale rebate (not a sales/lease reduction) but not everyone will get the pop up. It's random on Edmunds. It only applies to the 528 models.

FWIW I tracked my 528i x's ship from bimmheaven (the Topeka) and actually saw it in port when i was on the turnpike (glad i didn't get into an accident)
BMWusa still shows my car as having finishing touches, though I got an email from my advisor and saw it at the dealership yesterday - sweet. i'm waiting till near the end of the month (i picked up a Z4 and still have my old lease going back in may that is way under miles)
    1) does anyone have any more info about the pop-up coupon?
    2) any thoughts or suggestions about MSD?
    3) any predictions on the may program? i doubt it will be as good as this month.
    Thanks for any thoughts!
  • zoombie99zoombie99 Member Posts: 320
    1) the coupon only applies to dealer stock
    2) MSD are great and it is better than having the money in the bank earning less than one percent
    3) no one knows but you may lose the lease credit of 1,500

Upgrading from a 3 series to a 535i. Is this a good deal for a new lease?

535i with Premium and Tech packages, White exterior, heated seats
    36 months, 10K/year
    Top tier credit
"Minimum drive off" $1350 (includes DMV fees, etc.) I assume this is taking into account the $1500 lease credit?
$685 plus CA sales tax per month.
I think this is based on MF of 0.00185. Would I qualify for anything better given loyalty, top credit score, etc.?

    Thanks for any help!

    Zoombie and CarMan,

    OK, here's the exact quote:

535i with Premium and Tech Packages, Heated Seats and Blue Metallic Exterior
    MSRP with Destination $58295
    Selling Price $53215

    36 months 10K/year
    MF 0.00185
    RF 59%

With $725 bank fees Total Cap Cost $53940

Cap Reduction $1508 mostly offset by the $1500 Lease Rebate

Total Due At Signing (essentially DMV, 1st month, Cap Reduction Tax and Doc Fee) is $1351

    Monthly Payment $662 + $58 CA sales tax = $720

    Is this a reasonable deal?

    Thanks

    Hi Car Man,

You helped me out 3 years ago with an X5 and I'm looking for you excellent advise again, this time, on a 528xi.

Please let me know if this is a good deal or not for someone living in Long Island NY. I am an existing BMW customer and my dealer is offering to “buy out” the 3 remaining months lease on my X5 and is giving me the following quote:

    BMX 528xi
    1. Space grey metallic paint - $550
    2. Cold Weather Package - $ 1450
    3. Premium Package - $2250
    4. Technology Package - $ 1580
    5. 1 year Satellite Radio $350
    6. Destination - $895
    Total = $ 56545

    Now for the “Deal”
    1. Selling Price - $53115
    2. Residual – 62%
    3. Money Factor - .00190
    4. Monthly Payment $599
    5. Included in the deal is $1500 spring cash rebate
    6. Down payment $3700
    7. Lease will be for 3 years @ !0,000 mile per year

    Is this a good deal?
Should I wait the 3 months out (assuming I will get a better deal)?
    What question should I ask?

    Thank you so much!

Hi all (and of course, car_man),
I ordered my shiny new 528ix, and tracked it all the way from bimmerheaven to my dealer - i'm picking it up next week.
Not being one to wait, during that time I took over a lease (through BMWFS) of a shiny yellow Z4 - loving it.
Here's the kicker - do I now qualify for the reduction in the MF I had seen for BMW loyalty - or was that only if you were getting out of a BMW into another? I don't fully trust my dealership - BMWFS had a "young kid" answering the phone - he basically said ALL incentives, even nationally advertised, are subject to each dealership's policies - don't know how accurate that is.
thanks for any help or guidance!
  • zoombie99zoombie99 Member Posts: 320
It seems like a good deal to me. If you put down MSD, the MF will be lower and you can lower your monthly payment.

Its the same as it was in March, just look at the prior posts. No one knows the numbers for May. (I would just avoid dealers In Ramsey). I got my 328x a few years ago in Tenafly (on the last day of the month) and they beat everyone's montly lease payment by $50.00. In my opinion, the best deals are at the end of the month and only with the dealers that have a large inventory (provided you select from stock). I am thinking about getting a 535xi but I may wait until the next model year. I did get quotes and the lowest ones were at BMW of Manhattan and BMW of Tenafly. I didn't get a quote from Spring Valley but they have a lot of 535s on the lot. While BMW has the $1,5000.00 credit now, who knows if it will be around in May. If you are going with a 528, there is an additional $1,500.00 rebate that some people are finding on this site.
