i'm about to lease 2013 jetta se, 39 months, 12K mi/year. dealer has told me maintenance covers 36 months (3 years). my question: is this standard across the board for vw? what happens during the last 3 months of the lease if something needs repair - should i be concerned that the maintenance period falls short of the lease period?
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hey bart_a. VW Credit's May buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2013 Jetta SportWagen TDI with 15,000 miles per year are .00131 and 53% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

15,000 miles per year is the highest mileage allowance that VW Credit publishes residual values for. If you need to drive more than that, you will have to purchase additional miles on a per-mile basis. It is less expensive to do so at lease signing than it is to wait until lease-end and have to pay an excess mileage penalty.

Hey meyerovb. VW Credit's May buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 39-month lease of a 2013 Jetta S auto base with 10,000 miles per year are .00017 and 52% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

Volkswagen is only waiving the first month's payment on 39 and 48 month leases of this car. The mileage allowance doesn't matter. There is a $1,250 cash incentive on leases of it for any term.

    msrp - 30995
    cap- 28900
    residual value -15172
    down payment - 3000

    residual % : 49 %
monthly payment on there calculations is 379.08
    is this a good deal?
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi vdubz. Yes, this appears to be a good deal for this car to me. Both the selling price and the money factor that you mentioned look good. Just eliminate the $3,000 down payment (the payment will be higher, but it's the better way to go) and you're in business.

    Hi--

What's the current MF, residual on the Sportwagon S manual? 10k/yr, 39 mo?

Also, are there any incentives for June? loyalty, cash back, etc? Also, it seems there also may be a lease fee. Can you confirm?

    Thx!

Hi marvelm. Volkswagen Credit's June buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 39-month lease of a 2013 Jetta SportWagen TDI with 12,000 miles per year are .00131 and 54% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

39-months is the way to go because VW is waiving the first month's payment on leases of that length. Don't go with a 36-month lease because you won't get the free payment.

Hi. I've a 2010 Jetta on a lease which is up in Oct. Some s.o.b. keyed me across both driver side doors and the rear panel. Also someone hit the car in the parking lot which messed up the rear bumper enough to need replacing. A good repair place will fix all for $1200 plus tax. If I just return the car to VW at the end of the lease, how do they handle this situation in general? Or is it best to get the car repaired before bringing it in? In all likelyhood, I will lease another VW.
  • bvdj84bvdj84 Member Posts: 1,724
I would advise that you get it fixed. If they fix it, then they will do it at their cost which more than likely will be much higher than finding the best quote for yourself.
  • bvdj84bvdj84 Member Posts: 1,724
I am seeking information on a new lease for the Jetta. I am thinking that I should be able to get into a Jetta SEL for around $300 a month, $0 down.

Is this what I should expect?

So there would be no hope they would eat the damage to get my further business?

I am looking into the VW Jetta S lease deal they have going right now of $199/mo and $0 down. Is this a good deal or should I wait? Also, should I take this lease as is, or should I negotiate add ons or lower price?

    Thanks.

    2013 Jetta GLI Autobahn w/nav

    With Spoiler, rubber matts

    $0 down (just DMV fees)

    12,000 miles

39 months (sign and drive, first month paid for by VW)

  • bvdj84bvdj84 Member Posts: 1,724
What was your final sale price?

I am looking at a SEL for my next VW. I will probably be a little lower than your payment. However, now there are many variations of the SEL. They top out around $27,000.
  • rss723rss723 Member Posts: 4
    Final price was: $27,127
  • rte_hgrte_hg Member Posts: 1
I just mentioned to my dealer about your quote as it seemed better than mine overall.

I got $359 a month with just taxes and DMV down for a:

GLI autobahn w/o Nav and a 15k mile lease. All else is the same as yours.

Did you get the manual or automatic with paddle shifters? I got the automatic but I'm thinking of changing to the manual. Gonna test drive later today.

Nice! I got the manual - it was a great drive!

Hi rte_hg...could u share a few more details of ur lease numbers (purchase price, residual, etc.). Was the car M/T or A/T DSG? My dealer is quoting me 367 p/month which I feel is a little high (for a 12k mile)...but he just gave me a rough estimate... hoping to make use of recent college grad offer program as well..
    thanks.

If anyone has the current money factor on a 2013 Jetta SE I would really appreciate it; thinking about leasing! Thank you folks!
  • buyrlbuyrl Member Posts: 7
    I am with you:)
36K/3yr, 2013 SE with AT. MF and residuals higly appreciated as well as incentives ($1250 nd recent college grad, if there is any other...)
  • buyrlbuyrl Member Posts: 7
I could be able to get these numbers from a dealer in Ohio.

This is for a 36K/3yr, 2013 SE AT with Convenience package.

The money factor is .00015 residual 52%
    Msrp 22495
    Lease Sale Price 20000
    Acq fee is 625
    Doc and plates 325.5
    Tax is 726.31

$275 when signing, $275 for 35 months. So it is around $255+plus tax.

Let me know what you think...
  • buyrlbuyrl Member Posts: 7
This is for a 36K/3yr, 2013 SE AT with Convenience package. Location is Northeast Ohio.

    MF .00015
    Residual 52%
    Msrp $22495
    Lease Sale Price $19490.58
    Acq fee $625
    Doc fee $250
    Title and plates $75.5
    Tax 7.75%

Everything rolled out to 36 equal payments: $267 when signing, $267 for 35 months. So it is around $247.80+ tax. If you are a student recently graduated (or will graduate in coming months) VW is paying for your first payment, so in my case they paid $267.

Although VW cars have generally mediocre residuals, I think I got a good deal here. Tell me what you think...

Nice deal!! See I knew that when the dealer mentioned to me that it would be around $400 a month on an SE, it was outrageous!

I am currently paying $350 a month flat for a 2011 Jetta SE with roof. 12k a year and it was $0 down. It was a 4 year lease. I am needing to think about trading early due to my mileage getting so high. Its been a tough year.

I think that even $350 for the car is a little high. This payment does have some negative equity from a G6 lease before. This time around I should be in a better position than the G6. I am thinking that I should be able to lower payment and keep the same model car.

What do you think? Any advice would be awesome!!

I am looking at an Jetta SE or another VW that is leasing well. Next time I am leasing with more built in mileage. Everyone on here is getting decent deals and on trims higher than mine!! I might even be able to get an SEL for the same price, but I want a lower payment now.

    Thank you!! :)

    Hello,
I would very much appreciate hearing what the money factor and residual value is for a 2013 Jetta, 10000 miles/year, either 36 or a 39 month lease.

I am considering both the S and the SE (although the Sedan SE PZEV shows up as most available, and I am unable to find out the exact difference between the SE and the SE PZEV).

I live in Columbus, OH and would either lease later in August or very early in September.

Thank you very much in advance!

I am about to lease a Jetta GLI autobahn with navigation- sticker price is 29865
    2000 down
    36 months
    12000 miles per year
    800 credit score-

I was quoted at 356/month - out the door. Is there still room to negotiate or does this look good?

Whats the best price I can get on a Jetta SE with 0 down, excellent credit, 36 mo. lease?
  • dmc88dmc88 Member Posts: 1
It is possible to get a lower price. I leased my 2011 jetta SEL 15,000K miles for $289.00 with taxes with $0 down. It all depends on how much hardball you want to play with them. I am in Charlotte, NC, you should try to do even better than $300.00. Find out if there are any specials/rebates as well.

Can anyone tell me the buy rate lease money factor and residual on a 2014 GLI Autobahn in manual? I've been quoted two separate numbers in the past 2 days and am a little confused - one was .00141 / 58% and the other .00241 / 60% for the same car. MSRP is $27,925. Also, the quoted price without tax/tags/fees etc was $26,240 but I know VW is offering $1250 dealer cash right now so I'm wondering if that's a decent price ($500 below invoice). Thanks!

    Just purchased mine today:

    2014 GLI Autobahn w/Nav
    12k miles/year
$0 down all taxes rolled in
    36 month lease

    paying $393/month

    .00141 and 58% for 36mo, 15K/yr..

It's possible your other quote was for 12K mi./yr, and a marked up MF, or maybe they assume a lower tier of credit..?

    Hi CarMan,

I'm looking to lease a 2013 or 2014 Jetta Sportwagen, and am wondering what the current money factor and residual values are for each. I'm interested in the SE with sunroof (I am currently leasing that car--a 2011--and have been very happy with it), or a TDI with sunroof and possibly navigation. I need 15,000 miles a year and would consider a 36 or 39 month lease. I'm open to a 2013 to save money, but am finding that many of the dealers in my area (NYC) are running low on 2013s.

    Thanks!
