We don't have front license plates in the Southeast.
IMO, honda needs to start getting some new technology ready. EG, an ipod interface. Maybe something similar to Ford's Sync. Push button start (the s2k has had it since 2000! ) and cooled seats seems like something to get into now while its somewhat fresh.

Here is the true insider info from the ride and drive.
2.4L 177 HP iVtec i4
2.4L 190 HP iVtec v6
3.5L 268 HP iVtec v6 w/ VCM (Sedan)
3.5L 268 HP iVtec v6 w/o VCM (Coupe)
Coupes aren't getting VCM. The navi will be a joystick navi with over 700 commands. No more touch screen. No DX model but 2 different lx models. LX-P adds power drivers seat, security systems, and other stuff. The Navi wont have traffic but will have bluetooth. The rumors for the full size class are true. The Rear seat will be the biggest in its class. More evolutionary then revolutionary. Hope this helps.

Just wondering if you can confirm whether or not the Sedan with the V6 will have a manual tranny?
Thanks.

In TSX, VTEC is applied at intake as well as exhaust sides. This has resulted in a broader torque curve, with over 90% of (higher) peak torque available from 2000 rpm to 7000 rpm.

In CR-V, VTEC is applied only at intake. It has a broad torque but not quite to the levels of TSX's. 90% or better of its peak torque is available from about 2200 rpm to about 6200 rpm.

Honda has offered multiple engine designs on same models quite a bit. Integra was a lower volume car, but offered with three variations of similar engines (although the third had more differences than the other two, they were all B-series).
And in Accord lineup, prior to MY1998 EX got VTEC while DX/LX didn't. 1998-2002 Accord had DX without VTEC, other two got it. 2003-2007 is the only generation to have all trims share a four cylinder engine.
that i knew.

that i didn't. i never gave the accord a second glance until the V6 6-speed came along.
thanks for the info.

The v6 sedan cant be ordered with a manual tranny. Only a 5 speed automatic transmission. The EX-L v6 coupe will have a manual transmission.
19/29 for the v6
Dont complain about the gas mileage. It's competitive with the competition. This car is using the 08 mileage ratings so it had to drop down a little.
Here are the numbers for the 2007 Accord, old and new standards, so you can make the comparisons to how the new one would fare under either test.
23 City 31 Hwy (2.4L 5MT)
21 City 31 Hwy (2.4L 5AT)
18 City 27 Hwy (3.0L 6MT)
18 City 26 Hwy (3.0L 5AT)
***
21 City (Even) 30 Hwy (-1)(2008 2.4L)
19 City (+1) 29 Hwy (+3)(2008 3.5L)
21/30 for the i4's
19/29 for the v6

For comparison here are the 2007 Accord New Gas ratings from the government's web-site.

4 cyl, 2.4 L, Man(5), Regular 23 city 31 hwy
4 cyl, 2.4 L, Auto(5), Regular 21 city 31 hwy
6 cyl, 3 L, Man(6), Regular 18 city 27 hwy
6 cyl, 3 L, Auto(5), Regular 18 city 26 hwy
It looks like the 4 cyl is about the same and the 6 has actually jumped up. That's great considering the extra horses the 6 will now have. Gotta love the Honda engineers.
The new standard has completely messed up my expectations. I simply add 10% to the new estimates to see what I might get under leadfooted driving. That means, the new Accord V6 should be good for 25 mpg in mixed driving (I get 24 mpg in my 06 TL). Very impressive.
This is one reason I think the V6 will be the 3.2, and not the 3.5. I will believe 3.5 when I see it. The Accord having a larger engine than the TL doesn't seem likely or necessary, to me.
One of the rumors earlier was that A-VTEC would be available...
I suppose efficiency could technically have gone up - given the greater weight and greater hp that the engine has to deal with, but the end result is no better gas mileage for the 4-cyl. So glad I bought the 07. Hopefully the diesel will remedy things.
With gas more than double what it was when the previous generation came out I wonder why so much emphasis on power, and status quo on mpg (with the exception of the V6 - which still uses more fuel than the I4)
Where's the proof? I need evidence!
The last specs I've heard...
3471 cc (3.5-liter), 273 HP @ 6200 rpm, 250 lb-ft @ 5000 rpm, 6800 rpm redline. I think this is a detuned version of the engine in Acura TL Type-S (to use regular grade gasoline), with VCM added.
I think Honda will reserve A-VTEC for another launch, and offer it in Accord with MMC or so. We may know more about it at Tokyo Motor Show.
Diesel might be a good option, but only for mileage. Performance it won't offer. So, it comes down to priorities.
