He cam back with his "best offer" which was, in fact identical to his $230 p/month with $600 down for a 24 month lease on 13 Elantra - preferred. I told him its the same offer and to stop wasting my time. After two days of emailing back and forth, if he doesn't go down after that, at least I can concentrate elsewhere. Thanks for your comments everyone.

According to my contract, the only fee added to the cap cost was the acquisition fee of $595. The total that was due at signing was to be $723.70. It lists $500 as cap cost reduction, $133.70 first months payment, $60 for title fees and $30.00 tax on cap cost reduction. They used a $500 rebate to cover the cap cost which left a balance of $223.70, which is what we wrote a check for at delivery.
Has the dealer you're working with provided you with a selling price? Don't talk payment, just selling price. Once you have that, you can use a lease calculator to figure out what your payments should be. Also, don't wait on one particular dealer. Start emailing several asking for price quotes.
Even though I think you said you were in Florida, here is a link to an ad running in the Cincinnati area papers. It used to say $125 a month a couple weeks ago.
    Good luck!

These offers are crazy. There is nothing like it here in Fla. The deal you got is a new record. Thanks for working out the details, its a lot of help. I stopped my negotiation with the $230 p/m guy and now I'm looking into others. He had a good initial offer but would not take it down. I will keep on working and hope for better deals in April.

    Thanks!

I went to a hyundai dealer this morning in NJ by my math I should have been at 137 a month with first payment down. They were at 171.

    msrp 19825
    dealer price 18560
    Rebates 1900 (motozuma, college, competitive)
    NJ 7%tax
    Fees 850
    money factor .00074
    Residual 76%
    12k miles a year
I should be at mid 130s they were at 171.

Going back tonight will have the deal done by middle of next week but on my terms. ( I am in the biz)
  • driverone2driverone2 Member Posts: 13
Man, whatever I figure, they are baffled by it. I mean I've been writing emails for three days now and so far, the best I have is $209 total with only first payment down. What is bad thoguh is I have to drive 80 miles to get the papers signed. How much would a delivery be, can that be negotiated in the price? Good lick anyway.
  • sebzx79sebzx79 Member Posts: 53
    Its all done...
    19845 was the sticker.
I used Hyundai Circle price 18603.
    Rebates I used.
    College
    Motozuma
    compatative
    200 down 149 a month.
NJ has some stupid fees that you cant get around.

Read the previous post on leasing and have a question!

Negotiated hard yesterday for Elantra GT Manual with Touch and Go for $18,400 base model. But for a lease, they insist on increasing the cost of $19,800, with down of $2500, $500 discount, payments of $222 with tax for 3 years, residual $12,400 (not sure what Money Factor # is). Seems like this is not such a great deal. But they claim no negotiating on all this. Any advice for a newbie would be appreciated. Tempted to go ahead and purchase, which with a $7500 down would be $219.

The current lease "deal" in Bay Area on GT is $179 for 24 months--this seemed to have changed since yesterday when they told me $189 for 36 months. But in the color I want, only one available has the Touch & Go, and with that they are increasing payment substantially to $220 (before tax and $500).

One of the dealers I talked about my 2013 elantra lease asked me to send him a scanned copy of my insurance and d. license so he can complete the paperwork. Is this a standard practice? Any suggestion or experiences with this? We were talking about the delivery to my house and he said it would be free and asked if we could wrap up the deal. His offer was:

    $219 + tax 6% with $600 down - 24 month 15000 mile 2013 black/beige w preferred package.

How would contract signing even work on distance, any experiences, suggestions?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I got my Elantra and thought I'd share my numbers. My head was spinning so much with these numbers, I did the best I could at negotiating, not as good as others here but I only got 1 rebate, here goes
    GLS with preferred package

    MSRP 19750
    Sale price 18825
Fees are: bank fee/acq fee 595
    Doc fees 540
    1st month payment 199
    NJ tax 7%
    I used competitive rebate 500
I gave them 400 out of pocket and payments are 199 for 24 months
    12000 miles a year/money factor .00074/76%residual

Hi cali92. Hyundai Finance's March buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2013 Elantra GLS with 15,000 miles per year are .00098 and 61% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

Hyundai is not offering 24-month leases on this car right now.

They do and its 76% res with a .00074 money factor on a 12k 24 month lease with top credit.
  • dylrexdylrex Member Posts: 111
I was already excited about the deal I got on my Elantra and it just got even better. I went to the mailbox a couple of days ago and inside was an envelope from the dealership. Inside that envelope was a $500 check for the Auto Show cash that was available. I couldn't believe it. I thought they used any and all incentives to work the deal that I received. What a pleasant surprise!
  • seb7seb7 Member Posts: 7
    Hi Car_man,

Could you provide MF and residual for Elantra GT with Touch and Go package please?
Lease 24 months, 12k or 15k miles. Do they provide any extra incentives (beside those on their website)?
    I live in Chicago, IL.

    Thanks!
  • dowzamp2dowzamp2 Member Posts: 2
Car_man, could I ask you also include 36 months in your response?

    Many thanks
  • dowzampdowzamp Member Posts: 9
I'm currently talking to a dealer about a GT AT with Touch & Go MRSP and a MSRP of approx $21,650 - they have discounted it by $1600 and then told me that because I'm leasing I can't take advantage of any of the incentives such as the $750 "Valued Owner" - is this really true?

I don't know the all the details yet as its like gettig blood out of a stone but 36/1200 with $1000 at signing is comming out at $239 per month with all taxes in TN

    Views/advice?

    thanks in advance
  • driverone2driverone2 Member Posts: 13
I had the same situation and they always include all the discounts and bonuses if you are purchasing. Leasing, however, does not qualify for other than a competitive bonus/discount, whatever they call it. I also had trouble getting straight information and I suggest you just keep talking to various dealers persistently. That way after a while you'll surely learn all the details and be ready for a visit. They are just fishing for that, a big pain man. They do get scrambling near the end of the month. Good luck.
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Interesting, dylrex, I guess that they are. I haven't seen anything on that. I'll ask around. Thanks.

Hi Car_man, sorry for hunting you down throughout the forums (big day ahead of me - need all the numbers I can pull!). Do you have MF and residual for a 2013 Elantra GT with A/T trans, 45k mile allowance and 36mo lease?

    Thanks!
  • dowzampdowzamp Member Posts: 9
This is thw deal I have on the table - any views, I'm thinking it is OK

MSRP 21,675 (GT, auto, Touch & Go, Auto Dimming and mats)
    Sales pricde 20,025
Gross Capital 21,280.38 (595 Acq fee, 598 doc, tax)
    63% residual
    .00120 MF

$1,750 at signing covering the first month, $1,000 down and tags, reg, title etc)
35 month of $232 inc alll TN taxes (7%)

The $1,750 at signing would be covered by $750 loyalty rebate, $500 cash matched by Motorzuma with $500 rebate

So in effect this is $500 out the door followed by 35 months at $232 - total 3 year cost to me of $8,620

    Thoughts?

Just entered into a 24 month/ 24k mile lease on a 2013 GLS. Auto, popular equipment, spoiler, mats, splash guards, first aid kit and wheel locks. Sticker right around 20k.

    $500 down
    $159/month including the 9% taxes.

Thought this was a decent deal.
  • brainlessbrainless Member Posts: 1
That's sounds like a great deal. Where was that? I would lease one.

Just left the dealer and got this:
Elantra Limited White w/ Black interior
    Tech Package

    Floor Mats

    239.49 a month 36/12k
    MSRP 24,504
    63% Residual (15,438)
    $1,500 Down

    What does everyone think?

    Was told that:
Limited Money Factor: .00136 and Residual 63%
GLS Money Factor: .00121 Residual 66%
    Lease from Hyundai Financial

Got if from Hyundai of Orlando from Jason Nuss real awesome straight forward guy.
Said if interested in any Hyundai call him 321-689-9494 and use Coupon Code:DUCA to get the best deal!!!!!
  • salesguyjaysalesguyjay Member Posts: 22
MF is .00118 and Residual is 75/73% depending on miles.

    :)
  • fhd444fhd444 Member Posts: 2
It is not clear from your post if the 239.49 includes the sales tax. If it does include sale tax this is an excellent deal. I just got a limited w tech package for 201/month including tax with 2650 down but most of the down was in the form of a credit for lease return 1650 and rebates of 750 and 163 in cash. I am blown away how good my deal was. Given the high residual value of an Elantra of 63% for a 36 month lease you cannot go wrong with leasing an elantra.

Elantra GLS with preferred package, 12k a year for 24months. $0 down $179/month including taxes (sales 6.25%), registration, everything.
  • duca1222duca1222 Member Posts: 3
239.49 is tax in. Where did you get yours? What was your MSRP? That deal is crazy good. I put 1500 down cash and got 1150 in rebates. So we basically put the same money down but a $40 dollar a month difference.
  • duca1222duca1222 Member Posts: 3
    Did you have any rebates?
  • seb7seb7 Member Posts: 7
    Thanks!

    Touch&go:

    MRSP: $21800
    Sale: 19700 (before rebate)
    Rebate: 750
    MF: .00118
    Res 12k: 75%

IL DuPage county 7% tax. Illinois charges tax for entire car value, not payments!

$251/mo taxes included with 0 down for 24 months.
  • driverone2driverone2 Member Posts: 13
So, 2013 Elantra GLS automatic (black diamond/beige) with preferred package is the car.

    MSRP 19,520
    SELLING PRICE 18,565
    DOWN PAYMENT $2,000
    MONEY FACTOR .00074
    RESIDUAL .76
    CAP COST 17,630.41
    BUY OUT 14,835
PAYMENT INCLUDING SALES TAX $149PM/24 MONTHS

I would like to know what all of you think about the offer? Please let me know if you see any hidden fees in this offer.

Also, I have used an anonymous email and a fake name to negotiate since I contacted them before in March this year. Back then the best offer was $239 with taxes and another internet sales manager was working with me.

    Thank for your help!

Hey danyc1. Hyundai Finance's May buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24-month lease of a 2013 Elantra Limited with 12,000 miles per year are .00112 to .00136 and 72% to 73% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier. The exact program varies depending upon how the car that you want is equipped.

The numbers for an otherwise identical 36-month lease are .00153 and 63%, regardless of equipment.

Thanks Car Man, my quotes matched yours (63% residual and .00153 money factor), although back on may 8th I was quoted 66% and .00141 but think dealer was just switching numbers around.

I was quoted the following for the Elantra limited without tech package:
    Adjusted cap cost: $22,282
    $0 due at signing
    RV: 63%
    Money factor: 0.00153
$286/month (includes all inception fees, but not state taxes)

Last week he quoted me $286/month net of all fees AND taxes, and said then adjusted cap cost was $22,434 wi 66% RV and MF of 0.00141.

I've since gone back for an explanation of inception fees because he's claiming the above includes a $1,500 discount off MSRP whih I find hard to believe. Thoughts?
