Head over to the Honda Accord Group. Since you didn't mention what year the car was, you'll need to choose the appropriate maintenance & repair discussion that you'll find there.

Is it possible to lock your key in the trunk of the 750 LI?
  • patpat Member Posts: 10,421
Did you do that?? :surprise: Hope not!

Check with other 7-Series owners in the BMW 7-Series group and see what they say.
  • recierecie Member Posts: 2
I didn't but a friend did. The were told when they bought the car that your keys could not be locked inside. They had locked their car and when they closed the trunk remembered that the keys were in his jacket...in the trunk. The car stayed locked.
  • patpat Member Posts: 10,421
That happened to me one time - I was with some friends on a weekend trip and the driver, forgetting that her keys were in her pocket, threw her coat in the back of the car and slammed the trunk shut. The rest of the car was locked. We were there for three hours waiting for a locksmith.

Do come by the 7-Series group and talk to other 7-Series owners!!

I was wondering how dealers figure the pricing for a lease. Is there a general formula they use?

Distributor cap rotor on 1997 Nissan Sentra is frozen. Securing screw is removed, but rotor will not pull off. Don't want to get frustrated at such a simple thing and try to pry or hit it and create damage. Will heating up the engine entirely be of help? Any other tricks because this is ridiculous?
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
Hey Jorgec, hope you are getting some help in the synthetic oil discussion. I don't see a Riviera discussion - you may want to try the Electronic Gremlins: Electrical Problems That Are Driving You Crazy discussion in case there's a wiring or sensor problem.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
Try the Got a Quick, Technical Question? discussion.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
I'm thinking the same Got a Quick, Technical Question? discussion for the frozen cap; try a search over in Nissan Sentra too, in case it's a recurring problem.

You could ask Sentra owner and host Pf_Flyer for help, but he tends to grab the BIG hammer. ;)

177,000 miles, bought it used in March 06' Do not know if it has ever had a trans flush, nor do I know if it has had a timing belt replaced... Here is the problem, when It is shifting it seems to hesitate, then it will almost jerk, then go into the next gear and will continue to run fine as long as I'm driving, but if I have to stop, and then resume it will do that each time it has to shift gears??? Help!!

    Hi- Does anyone have a PDF manual for a 1993 Rodeo 3.2L V6 4x4?

I want to change the timing chain on my "new" used vehicle. If not a pdf file how about a schematic of the front and removal/installation guidelines for the timing belt? Any help would be appreciated.

I need information on how to install a 93 Ford Escort radiator. Here are the complications/problems that most auto part store can't give me answers to my 93ford radiator installation:

    1. the connector 'from the fan/motor' on the radiator is missing.

    2. I do not know where "radiator fan/motor should be connected to 'on the engine or other area'(it looks like the previous owner 'jigger' a wire to the battery to run the fan on the radiator).

    3. there is a open '6 (small)hole/female" connection with nothing connected to it..on the 'passenger side' of the 'front' right side of the engine.

    4. the dealer (not much help either)that there are 3 different types of ways the radiator can be connected to a 93 ford escort! a. above the back left(drv side) ? >>not sure on the other 2.

My car has a garetts T25 Turbo and a heavy duty clutch on it. It is 3 years old. Whenever I floor it(or really get on) the gas, around 3.5 rpm where the turbo kicks in, my car briefly looses power in a big THUD that shakes the car. It does it in 2, 3, and 4th the most. Does anyone have an idea if its the clutch or turbo?

My 2003 Expedition power adjustable foot pedals don't move anymore. Since the fuse that controls it controls the seat, and the seat moves, I'm thinking a relay. Any suggestions on how to find the problem. I can hear the click when I push the button, but no movement
  • patpat Member Posts: 10,421
Have a look at the Ford Expedition group. You can post in the Expedition Maintenance and Repair discussion, or you can create your own if you'd like. The Add Discussion link is on the right just over the discussion list.

    Hi,

I was not sure where to post this message. We are buying a Honda Odyssey and got a great price quoted. Everything seems okay with the deal (the price is about 1K under invoice). Anyway, the dealer called today and asked if I was worried about the mileage on the car when we picked it up. He says it should have less than 150 miles on it and the reason is because he has to drive it over from another dealership. He said the new car warranty would extend the extra 150 miles (36,0000 plus the mileage when we picked it up). I am also worried the driver might abuse the car on the trip. Does this sould right? Should we worry? What is the maximum mileage for a car to be considered new?

We actually have to drive to the Bay Area (about 3-1/2 hours) to pick up the vehicle. And this is a rather expensive purchase!
  • tidestertidester Member Posts: 10,059
You can discuss that with other Odyssey owners in Honda Odyssey 2005+.

Our local Toyota dealer did some repairs. Now they say we need additional repairs, etc.

I'd like to post a specific question because I need some help negotiating with the dealer to bring down the repair costs. Where do I post it? Thanks.

Also, if it helps, it is mostly about the power steering system, but also involves the valve cover gaskets, timing belts, etc.

Sorry, I saw this after already posting in a forum, but...

Where might I get help finding a what a reasonable (or unreasonable offer) for a used car would be, namely a BMW 325i or Acura TSX. Looking through the "price and experiences" threads seem geared toward new cars.

    Thanks!

We have a couple of experts in used car values there. Once you know what a dealer has in the car, you can extrapolate a fair price to pay.

I have noticed that frequently (especially when first starting to drive) my display will indicate that I am either charging the battery or just using the battery. However, instead of reading 99MPG it shows a low number corresponding to what it would be if running just on the gas engine. I don't see this as much after a while. Is the display wrong and the gas engine is actually running or is this a software error on the MPG reading? If a software error, then the average MPG readings may be way off if you mostly do short drives (to/from work) and are mostly running on battery. Any comments on this?
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
Since you didn't mention what car you are driving, try going to the Browse By Vehicle search box on the left sidebar, and enter your make/model in the form and hit Go. All the discussions relating to your car will be listed.

Pick a likely discussion and post your MPG display question there.

My husband's truck started to make a howling noise rececently upon going 30 mph and above. He thought it was the transmission, so it had the fluid changed. Still noisy. Since we've done may repairs to keep this old truck going, we're afraid it's more serious this time. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

That's a puzzle - I'd go to the Ranger Group and look through one of the discussions listed there - there's a transmission and general problems discussion that would be places to start.

We are looking at trading our 1992 15 passanger van for this 1991 Ford F150 Lariot-Our Van needs a starter[70.00] and the dealer says he will tow it up and take 500.00 off the Ford Lariot for the Van.Plus he wants 850.00 for the truck.Asking price is 1395.It`s a bit beat up-of course for year and price but we are looking for a double seater 4x4 w/cab for secondary truck..
Problem? The check engine light is on,dealer said he drove it 200 miles from where he JUST bought it in a package deal and had no problems but really doesn`t KNOW the vehicle.
It also staulled out 3 times during the two test drives we gave it.But other then that it seems to run good.85,000 miles
It has 2 gas tanks and they don`t know if first one works or not but it doesn`t have a gas cap-so COULD that be a problem with the CEL?He said they only put gas in second tank but will switch tanks and put gas in it to check if I want?
Don`t want to pass a deal but is this something to walk away from or work with?
We are going to PA where they have emmissions check.

I have a 98 ranger, 2.5 engine, 5 speed. For the past year I have been fighting a problem with my idle. When outside temperature rises above 50 degrees my idle jumps way up when I come to a stop. Sometimes, when I'm driving through a parking lot I can travel 35mph without touching the accelerator. I have changed my IAC valve twice and cleaned my throttle body and intake.
    Any suggestions?
