I calculated an approximate lease of 763.18/mo. with zero down and zero discounts. Also one thing that may help is going to the Lincoln website, build a vehicle near the same price you negotiated (or build one to MSRP and then deduct down to the negotiated price) and calculate the lease at the end of the build process.

I am planning to lease a 2011 Lincoln MKX around Christmas this year. I'm pretty sure Lincoln will do their annual Winter Sales Event around then. I know I could get a 2012, but I might get a better deal seeing as the two models years do not differ too much and dealers will be trying to reduce 2011 inventory. I wanted to know if anybody got a good lease rate for the event last year. Also has anybody gotten a 24 month lease. I've seen these lease offers on the Lincoln website, but I was unsure how often people get them. What are the pros and cons to 24 months VS 36 or 39 months other than pricing?
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi joshcs1. While there is exceptions to this rule from time to time, generally speaking 36 and 39 month leases have lower payments than 24 month leases do.

Can someone help me out. I am looking to lease a base fwd for 36 months or 24 months with 15 k a year. What are the numbers? 2011 still leasing or is 2012 a better residual?
  • discount80discount80 Member Posts: 27
I got the following offer. MSRP of 41,575 selling price of $37887

just first month tag and title out of pocket

    39 months 15k 529 plus tax

    Seems high to me?
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi discount80. Ford Credit's September base lease rate for a 24 month lease of a 2012 Lincoln MKX AWD is anywhere from 2.5% to 4.0%, depending upon what region you are in. The lease rates for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are 3.75% to 6.0%.

This truck's residual values for leases with 15,000 miles per year are 64% for 24 months and 55%.

    The numbers for the 2011 model are 0.5% / 50% for 24 months and 2.0% - 2.75% / 51% for 36 months.

    Can someone help me out?

I am looking to lease a base MKX AWD for either 27 or 36 months with 19.5 k a year (Michigan).

Can someone tell me the factors and residuals for these lease terms?

    Also I can get a new 2011. Is a new 2012 a better deal w/regards to a residual?

    Thanks

    Dear Car Man,

I just posted in regard to an Edge Limited. Also interested in an MKX FWD, 2011 or 2012 (I'm assuming that since the 2012 had no updates I would have the most leverage in negotiating a cap cost reduction). Do you have the December MF and residuals for the Dallas, TX market?

I didn't post in my Ford inquiry, but I would entertain 10k or 12k miles.

    Thanks,

    JB

Hello engrgrad. According to the latest information that I have seen, Ford Credit;s current base lease rate and residual value for a 27-month lease of a 2012 Lincoln MKX AWD with 19,500 miles per year in your area are 3.5% and 60%, respectively.

The numbers for an otherwise identical 36-month lease are 3.25% and 52%.

You can still lease a new 2011 model if you want. The numbers for it would be 2.0% / 57% and 2.0% and 49%.

Please post current lease information for the MKX FWD. Looking at 36 month lease with 15k or 18k a year. Thanks!
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi cwa318. Ford Credit's current base lease rate and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 Lincoln MKX FWD with 15,000 miles per year are 1.5% and 51%, respectively.

The residual value for a lease with 18,000 miles per year is 2% lower.

Ford is currently providing a $500 cash incentive on leases of this truck.

    Hi hadi0116,
    Just received best quote yet.
    36mos/15K
$529 mos w/tax, and, tire and rim warranty ( not sure if I really need... Never a problem w/current 20" wheels, but...) $517 w/out warranty. Had best quote from heavy volume dealer. Goal now is $500mos.

Notice there is a $971 dealer holdback on this car.
  • hadi0116hadi0116 Member Posts: 9
    Hi hilltop3,

The last quote you received sounds great but do you have to put anything down? Is the deal sign & drive? Thanks for all the info, I will continue to shop to see if I can do better. Let's keep in touch.
  • hilltop3hilltop3 Member Posts: 33
Nothing down, drive off is 1st mos payment, doc, registration/transfer... $921. MF and RV appear consistent with everyone. Not sure how they finnagle. I have been asking everyone for their very best offer because I am shopping around. Told them that I am aware of what the invoice cost is, and want a good deal based on that. Then make sure you are getting tax included and rebates in the monthly they offer you (every dealership tells me I am getting $4600 in rebates. X-plan adds about $500 to invoice.) The last car I leased I went with a dealership that is an hour away. Will probably wait until the last week of the month to ask for a $500 mos payment offer. Hopefully they will have a quota to fill, and will make me the best offer.

I have been working with the Internet Manager at each dealership, saving me a lot of running around. Will only go in once I get pricing I want.
  • hadi0116hadi0116 Member Posts: 9
    Thanks hilltop3,

I'm doing the same, working online until I get closer to what I think is a good deal. Waiting for one more dealer to get back to me today or tomorrow, will keep you updated. When you pay the $921 to drive off you are adding to the true cost. Divide it into the 36 months so you see your true lease cost for the vehicle. In your case your net lease is $542 a month with out the tire and wheel package. The $564 I was quoted was 0 drive off ( sign and drive ) with a 7% tax rate. I would love to get 36 months instead of 39 and would like to be under $530 with tax on 15,000 miles and sign/drive. Thanks for the X-plan info, I will ask about it. My dealer is asking 2 points for the money factor on 39months, not sure how you got 1.75 on 36months.
  • hilltop3hilltop3 Member Posts: 33
    Hey Hadi0116,
The ($921) I expect to pay... First month payment, documentation fee, plate transfer. Otherwise too much additional $ to add to your monthly, and its being charged interest.

Just got best offer today @ $505mos. with taxes. Very excited. These guys are ready to deal!

X-plan is a discount you can get if you know Ford employee to get a PIN# from.

For 39 mos./15 K the 2% seems in line... 24m is .5 (.0002), 36m is 1.75 (.0007), so 39 mos @ 2% is probably what it is. Keep talking to dealerships and you will no doubt keep getting better prices.

Have been told tire and rim is something to get, but include it at the end afterball is written up, and bargain for it.

Look at website Leasesmart and plug in up front $921 (whatever it is) in Drive Off section. Pretty good idea of what to expect.

    Hi hilltop3,

Thanks so much for the all the info, $505 is very exciting! What was the MSRP on that deal? Was is it a 102a package? My local dealers are playing hardball. I got two other quotes back and they are both close to $600 with 7% tax. I will ask around to see if someone I know works for Ford or knows someone who works for Ford. What dose the X-Plan entail and how much are the incentives. Did you close that deal? Is it possible to get your dealer info, maybe I will contact them. I will post my email just incase you would like to send me more info on that dealer (ex. sales person). Maybe you can get a small kickback If I use you as a reference. My email is ([email protected])

What is the $2,500 cap reduction? Was that the trade in value?
  • hadi0116hadi0116 Member Posts: 9
    ubuntu1,

No trade in. Not sure what they used to reduce the cap cost by $2,500. I'm assuming they just discounted the car as much as possible to get the deal done. I was very aggressive with the negotiating and asked for extra accessories to be put in and they gave them to me on a WE OWE YOU CONTRACT (Tints, Cargo security shade, and sport pedals). I wrote up the deal on the last post on how it was listed on my contract. Good Luck.
  • ubuntu1ubuntu1 Member Posts: 13
hadi0116, that is a remarkable deal. Congrats!

Hi hilltop3. Ford Credit's April base lease rate and residual value for a 24-month lease of a 2013 MKX AWD with 15,000 miles per year are 0.5% and 62%. The numbers for a 36-month lease are 0.75% and 53%. The numbers for a 39-month lease are 1.0% and 51%.

Here's a brief description of the Ford X-Plan:

    https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerweb/jsp/howitworks/fordpartner_rules.htm

In short, it entitles you to a low selling price on the vehicle that you want without the need to have to haggle.

Appreciate your help, you negotiated a great deal! Am going in to dealership for numbers tomorrow, thanks again for any help you can provide. Have a great day and enjoy your new ride!

  • aaayronaaayron Member Posts: 1
It's a bad idea to lease anything from Lincoln. Did you know that at the end of your lincoln lease, if you want to trade in your lincoln to anyone else but Lincoln, they will not release the car to anyone but you (the lessee) or a Lincoln dealer. I found this out the hard way today when i went to trade my leased Lincoln in for a cadilac. The cadilac dealership was giving me a good price that would have covered the payoff and the last 3 payments on my lease, but they would not allow cadillac to buy the car. being over my mileage, I could have avoided the mileage fees, excess wear and the last 3 payments. Now i have to use half my down payment i set asside for the new cadillac just to get out of my lease. And an added bonus for Lincoln that they don't tell you about is if you want to exercise that purchase option at lease end, you will have sales tax and dealer fees, since Ford credit can only sell the car through a Lincoln dealer. SURPRISE. NEVER LEASE FROM LINCOLN.
