The vehicle is a 4 cylinder standard. I think there may be an issue recognizing the clucth is in or the vehicle is in neutral. I tried to disconnect the battery to see if it was a computer issue that could be reset but that did not work. The fuses seem fine as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
This has happened several times. After driving the car, shutting it off and trying to start again sometimes it starts and sometimes not. had the error code checked and no code showed up. pulled several of the main fuses to see if there was a drain no luck. Checking the battery voltage when it wouldn't start and it is about 10.5v. When the car starts normally and you drive it you never know if it will start even after being shut off for only five minutes. (too short of time to drain the battery) Could this be caused by the BCM and can a dealer actually pinpoint the cause if it is the BCM? all ideas welcome. Car is 2008 vue with 17100 miles on it

I went down to the Chevy dealer( former Saturn dealer) and talked to service writer and he stated that it was most likely the on board computer box as did two others that were standing there and listening. He told me it would be $155 to check it out $400 for the part and $165 to program it plus tax. I told him I had never had a problem with the Vue since I purchased it new and only had about 86,000 miles on it. He said "It's 7 years old what do you expect". That kind of ticked me off because I had bought 4 Saturns, 2 new and 2 used, and a used S-10 pickup from them when they were a Saturn dealer.
I came home and looked up for a cause that we may have been able to fix and ran across this tread and than realized I was not the only one having the same problem.
Right now I have a Vue sitting in my driveway that I can't use and another 2008 that my wife drives that I'm worried that may end up doing the same thing. Do to the cancer that my son is being treated for, we can't afford to get it fixed. This seems, according to this blog, to be a major problem.
If we can follow up with the dealership on your behalf, we would be happy to do so. We would get a Customer Assistance case established, as well. Please send us an email message with the following information: your name/username, contact information (phone and address), the last 8 digits of your VIN and current mileage, and the name of your current dealership and a description of any visits you have made there (including the one mentioned in this post) for this concern.

I took my car to a Chevrolet service center once before and will never go back there again. I don't know what to do or where to go to fix my vehicle. It's practically new with less than 22,000 miles on it and its worthless to me as I can't drive it. Please help!!
Please send us an email with more information, including a description of your experience at the Chevrolet dealership you alluded to in your post, the last 8 digits of your VIN, and your name/username and contact information (phone and address).

Changed the battery, had the alternator checked, and it was good. Now when I try to cut the car on, it may or may not stay running. I am terrified to go anywhere, thinking that it may not cut back on and leave me stranded somewhere.
So So depressed!!
I wanted to thank you for contributing to this discussion, and to let you know that I have made a note of this thread for GM. I can't present any guarantees as to what this will do, as I am far removed from the discussions on these types of things.
If we can assist, as always, we're available to you by email.

We are also haveing problems with batteries on a 2007 Vue with the 4 cyl engine. The car is now on it's 3rd battery!
The battery is dead after the car sets 3-4 days. The car has a bettery drain when put a test light between the battery and fuse block. I have pulled all of the fused and relays to test for the drain. I can not be the test light to go out.
My wife is now afraid to drive the car. She is concerned that she will become stranded when the battery dies.
Can you offer any assistance?

There may be helpful information on the electrical system in your owner's manual, starting on page 5-74 (includes information on fuses), or this may be a result of the Electric Power Management (or EPM, information begins on 3-14) trying to work with a high electrical load. This occurs when
several of the following are on, such as: headlamps, high beams, fog lamps, rear window defogger, climate control fan at high speed, heated seats, engine cooling fans, trailer loads, and loads plugged into
accessory power outlets. The EPM works to prevent excessive discharge of the battery by balancing the generator’s output and the vehicle’s electrical needs. One of the things that can occur is a temporary reduction of the power demands of some accessories. Normally, these actions occur in
steps or levels, without being noticeable. In rare cases at the
highest levels of corrective action, this action may be noticeable to the
driver. If so, a Driver Information Center (DIC) message might be
displayed, such as BATTERY SAVER ACTIVE, BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW, or LOW BATTERY. If this message is displayed, it is recommended that the driver reduce the electrical loads as much as
possible.
If you've visited your dealership for a diagnosis on this, we're available to follow up with them to see what they found, or to assist in any way we can.

the 10 amp circuit breaker that controls the running lights on the left rear running lamp keeps blowing ... there is a neighbor that has the same vehical with the same issue... neither of us have done any cutting or modifing of the stock electrical system... the car only has 38k miles on it .... is this a common problem and is there a common repair for it... and yes I have confirmed the fuse is blowing (it is in the engine compartment) and have replaced the rear tail lamp to make sure it was not that ...
please help
If you haven't checked out fuses already, there is a section in the owner's manual beginning on page 5-95 on the electrical system of your vehicle (includes fuse diagrams).

Now when I start my car after it has been sitting awhile it will making a repeated fast clicking sound and dashboard lights flicker just before it turns over. Also last week my cruise stopped working (it has always had a problem of occasionally turning off by itself before, but was always able to restart it)
I don't understand what hillybillysupra did, but going to research it a little more to see if that will fix my problem. Don't want to take into dealership... just spent a year trying to get torque converter problem dealt with - and sorry Sarah, but GM was no help at all in getting my issue resolved. I think I would have been better dealing with the dealer myself.
Have you had any luck on finding a resolution for these electrical matters on your Vue?
Best,
Sarah

I just started to have almost the same issues with my 2002 VUE. Did you get the problem diagnosed and solved? How much did it cost?
Thanks!
The whole process took almost 3 weeks and at the beginning I think was difficult to diagnose because it was so intermittent and it wouldn't do it for the first 2 mechanics. Even when the other symptoms weren't present, switching the headlights in different modes would make the interior lights flicker and that seemed to be the key to my husband that may have helped point to wiring problem sooner. It got to the point where random dashboard lights were always flashing by the time my husband took over. It had already cost a lot more with the added cost to tow it to the 2nd mechanic because I was afraid to drive it because the steering wheel would lock up intermittently. And even if you know exactly what is wrong and what needs to be fixed, if you are a woman, I hate to say this but you might have better luck if you have a man take it in :-( good luck!
