Hi vasco. It looks like you're at a little over $1,000 over invoice on this truck. That's not bad. The payments that you listed look about right to me as well...though I would go with as close to zero down as possible on a lease.

Thanks for your response carman , do you know what the new lease numbers on LR4 are for November (12K and 36, 39 or 48 month terms) for me to compare and make a more educated decision?
  • vascovasco Member Posts: 18
Here is another deal that I was offered for a USED (service loaner)
    2012 LR4 HSE
    7 Seat Package
    Cold Climate Package
    DIG & SAT radio.
    ~5700 miles
    MSRP $56,325
    INV $ $51,941
    Selling Price $48,000
    $2K driveoff
    48 months $688 includes tax

I am not sure if $3k discount is enough for a service vechile that is at 5700 miles but if so the numbers are attractive enought for me to get it, what do you think CARMAN?

    Thanks for your input!

Hi - can anyone please explain to me why different dealerships give us different residual values and money factors for exactly the same car (2012 Land Rover LR4 HSE) for someone with excellent credit? Today, I was quoted by two different dealerships just outside of Philadelphia, PA, the following numbers for 36 months lease and 10,000 miles per year?

    1) Residual value of 52% with a money factor of 0.0032.
    2) Residual value of 51% with a money factor of 0.00077.

Which one is accurate? What is the current money factor and residual value for the vehicle described above, assuming excellent credit, 36 months lease, 10,000 miles per year?

    Thank you.

Hi Saaber - would you mind sharing the contact information of the sales person that you worked with for your 2012 Land Rover LR4?

You're very welcome vasco. Chase's November buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 LR4 HSE with 12,000 miles per year are .00020 and 48% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

The 39 month numbers are .00034 and 46%.

The 48 month numbers are .00064 and 38%.

Always leverage these posts in thinking about new car so thought I would post my recent experience if if helps others out as well. Lease 2012 LR4 yesterday:

    Dealer: Prestige Paramus NJ
Packages: HSE; Climate Comfort; Sirius; Black Metallic Paint
    MSRP: $56,700
    Invoice: $51,763
    Selling Price: $49,193
    Term: 36 Months
    Mileage: 10K / Yr
    Residual 49%
    MF: .0002
    Bank Fee: $795
    Doc Fee: $195

Monthly payment worked out $608 / month W/$0 cap reduction. I put down additional $3,975 for cap cost reduction so actual monthly payment $499.

From what I read there is a manufacturer incentive of $2,000 currently offered to dealers on '12 model LR4's. That coupled with dealers' desire to move out '12 inventory prompted dealer to get aggressive with pricing.

    Hope this helps.

I just received the following intial lease offer on a 2012 LR4 HSE LUX. Any thoughts? Is anyone getting more than the $2000 discount which it seems is the current manufacturer's incentive?

    MSRP = $66,756
    Less $2000 discount
    Less $4552.71 net trade allowance
    Price = $60203.29

    Option 1 - 12K miles
    Cash Down: $0.00 $1995 $2995 $3995
    36 mth @ .00120 $1080.68 $1021.14 $991.30 $961.46
    39 mth @ .00134 $1049.99 $994.67 $966.95 $939.23
    42 mth @ .00145 $1022.29 $970.60 $944.67 $918.77

    Option 2 - 10K miles
    Cash Down: $0.00 $1995 $2995 $3995

    Car Man,

What are the December buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36, 39, 42 and 48-month lease of a 2012 LR4 HSE with 12,000 and 10,000 miles per year?

    Thanks!

Here you go dchamp72. Chase's December buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 Land Rover LR4 HSE with 12,000 miles per year are .00020 and 48% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

    The 39-month numbers are .00034 and 46%.

    The 42-month numbers are .00045 and 43%.

    The 42-month numbers are .00064 and 38%.

The residual values for leases with only 10,000 miles per year would be 1% higher.

    Thanks,

Hi Mark. Chase's May buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2013 LR4 HSE with 15,000 miles per year are .00204 and 54% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

The numbers for an otherwise identical 39-month lease are .00205 and 51%.

Any updates on the lease rates for Late July 2013 on LR4 HSE LUX with 15k miles a year and top credit?

Chase and US bank appear to be the most common options for my dealers involved on a lease.

    Thanks in advance

For other retail researching customers after shopping for a few weeks in Texas, a 2013 LR4 HSE LUX with:

    Black design pack & 19" wheels $1500-$1600
    Sat radio
    Heavy Duty Pkg

This so far has drive out price of $60,320 for reference. Invoice of $57,745 and MSRP 62,861. Dealers are certainly less inclined to work on a price than my previous Lexus buys.

Does anyone have any updates on the current residuals and money factors for an LR4 HSE w / 15000 miles p.a. on a 36 month lease. Dealer is telling me 53% and 0.00280, and that these are set by Land Rover and they will not move on them - does that sound right?

I have never leased a car before.

One more question MF x 2400 = interest rate - but is that's the total interest rate over the life of the lease right - not an APR?. Is this how the math on leasing works:

    price = 55,000, residual is 53%, therefore 55,000 x 47% = leasing costs = 25,850
    MF = 0.00280 x 2400 = 6.72% interest
    25,850 x 1.0672 = 27,587 total leasing cost w/ interest
    SO

monthly lease price should be 27,587/36 = $766? Make sense?

thanks in advance for your help
    cheers
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 234,725
It's almost impossible to change the MF to the equivalent APR, and then calculate the lease..... I'll just say that your calculations aren't really accurate..

    The calculation?

(CAP cost minus Depreciation) / lease term = Monthly depreciation

(CAP cost plus Depreciation) X money factor = monthly finance charge

Monthly Finance Charge + Monthly Depreciation = Monthly payment (pretax)

A few other things to keep in mind.... The residual percentage is figured on the MSRP, but the CAP cost is your selling price plus fees (minus downpayment, if any)

You can see a How-to for calculating here:

Land Rover has no subvented leases on the 2014 LR4 for March. All of the numbers are just listed as "standard". I think you can infer that to mean "expensive".

They do have 2013 LR4 numbers, if you need them.

We've got 'em .. and it doesn't look good. All trim levels for the 2014 LR4 say "standard" for residual and "standard" for MF.

I think that translates to 'it's gonna be expensive, mate'.

No 2015 numbers for LR4 with the August data.

The only specific numbers we have for Land Rover this month are on the Evoque.

Everything else shows "standard", which generally means, "no lease support"

This forum was instrumental in negotiating two of my past three leases (last one I did without Edmunds and paid too much in my opinion). Now, we're looking at a short list of vehicles, the LR4 included. Can you share May MF and residual at this time? Below is the vehicle we're researching. I'm sending inquiries/interest out to Dallas, TX area dealers soon.

    2015 Land Rover LR4 HSE
    10,000 miles / 12,000 miles

    Thank you.
