I don't have historical data, but that residual is very high. Residuals do often go down as the model year progresses, but car companies will often make other changes to the lease program, to keep the car affordable.

The only reason I asked is because the residual can matter a lot if you are thinking about buying the car and trying to resell it at the end of the lease. I went back and checked the resale value of most of the luxury cars from 3 years ago and none of them were anywhere close to 66%. Most were in the 45%-55% range.

Therefore with a car that has such a high residual you probably should be planning to turn it back in right from the start.

I had my loaded 2011 G37 sedan with 33500 miles and perfect condition(According to Carmax) appraised last night. Even with what they considered to be an outstanding offer they were still almost $5000 short of the residual. That residual was only 62% after 39 months. I have to think that even as hot a car as the CLA is it won’t be worth anywhere near 66% of MSRP in 36 months.

Yeah.. the best way to turn a great lease deal into an average lease deal is to purchase the car at lease end. You want that high residual, to get a nice low payment for the lease term. After that, you give it back.

We also have a 2011 G37 lease.... and, when it's up in October, it's going back, too..

Hello, I'm in SoCal (Orange county) and am looking to lease a C63 (sedan or coupe). I've been getting some really weird numbers from different dealers on similarly priced cars.

First I'd like to ask if you know of any good salesman/dealers around and if you have the MF, residual, along with effectiveness of MSD and direct pay.

Looking to lease 10K / 36m, zero down with MSD.

    Thank you

  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 237,123

New lease program just came out, yesterday... It will be a few days before we get that information.

I will say that specialty vehicles (like the C63) usually have terrible lease programs... and, if you are looking at the Black Series, they'll be even worse. Also, dealers will assume that you aren't price sensitive, and may try to gouge you with mark-ups..

@kyfdx@Edmunds, Thank you for the information. Since the Black Series is sold out, none are available to lease.

I'm just looking for a standard C63 with LSD. Looking forward to seeing the numbers.

If you get the March numbers I would like to know what the 36 month 12k per year lease numbers are for the CLA250 with premium, sport, and multimedia(if that makes a difference).

Standard money factor and 57% residual. The standard money factor is usually .00195-.00225, but dealers may mark it up for extra profit.

kyfdx@Edmunds, Thank you for all the info.

Is the 57% residual for 15,000 miles / 36 months for C63? Dealer gave me money factor of .00195, but 59% residual on 10,000 miles / 36 months.

How would the numbers change if I go 7,500 miles a year for 24 month or 36 months?

Thanks again for all your help. =)

I show 57%. That's a pretty low volume vehicle... if they put out a special program on it, I'm not going to see that. 7.5K/yr lease residuals are 1% higher than 10K/yr.

I show 24 month residuals of 66%/65%, respectively for 7.5K/10K

    kyfdx,

Could you tell me what the MF and residual would be on a 2014 c300 sport with the sport, lighting, premium 1, multimedia, and lane tracking packages (msrp 50,970)?

Looking for information for a 10k/27mo and a 7500/27mo lease.

Also curious what term length you would suggest. Keep in mind I do not plan on purchasing the vehicle at the end of the lease so a higher residual would be ideal (if im understanding this correctly).

    Thanks in advance!

    .00120 MF and 70% residual for 27 mo, 10K/yr. 71% for 7.5K/yr.

27 months is the best term.... and, you are correct... higher residuals equal lower payments.

Don't put the money from your trade-in into the lease. Just take that money and invest it for the lease term instead. Or do MSDs instead.

That 27 month lease looks really good but I would roll everything into the lease and not put any money down on it. If the car gets totaled or stolen you will lose your down payment instantly. Not worth the risk to save a few bucks a month in interest.

Ask them what Money Factor they are charging you. Ask them for the buy rate or walk away.

If they are running a 27 month lease special, I don't have the info. The 36mo, 12K/yr residual is very good at 65%.

@mpgxsvcd that $5,000.00 difference have it on your side and tell your sales man you are interested in Multiple security deposits to lower you interested rate on the loan. If ANYTHING happens to your car, you get you $5000.00 back no questions asked. Its a no brainier. It could possibly cut your payments about $40 to $60 a month. Definitely something to look into plus what ever you save a month you get your $5000.00 back. so you saving about $5000.00 ++. Hope this helps, Let us know how this goes ! best of luck

.00103 MF and 63% residual. There is a special 27 month program on this model, with a residual of 71% (same money factor).

I'm not sure that Mercedes offers the MSD discount against subvented money factors (below the standard money factor).

Does anyone have the April MF and residual values for a c300 4matic? If so, please provide 27, 33, 36 month values for both 10K and 12k/year miles.

Also, is anyone aware of any incentives? I have heard of $2500 off, but am told that is for a coupe only.

I'll get more details about a deal in the works, but here is what I know so far. I would appreciate your comments.

    C300 4matic sport. MSRP 50500, 6000 discount. MF .0011. I know the residual is 70% for 27 months and 64% for 30 months.

    Questions:
    1) do you think I can get a better discount?
    2) The last time I leased, the residual was 1% higher/better as I took the pre-paid maintenance program (to which a residual also applies). Is that still in play now?

    Thanks

I don't think Mercedes will increase the residual for the maintenance plan, but you may be able to get it residualized, which would be a huge savings.

I show the money factor as .00120 for April on this model.

Add 2% to all residuals for 12K/yr. I don't have numbers for 27 months..

I was offered a $5,500 discount off MSRP on a 2014 C300 4matic with Premium 1, Sport plus and Becker Navi. I want to do a one pay based on MF of .00040 (.00120 - 0.00080 one pay discount), a residual value of 70% and 24 months term with 10K per year. Using my own lease calculator and including my state's 6% tax I came up with the following:

    MSRP: $45,925
    Dealer discount: $5,500
    Negotiated price: $40,425

    Monthly payment: $396.36 x 24 months + $795 acquisition fee = $10,307.64 total due at signing.

Can anyone confirm my calculations please?

    Thanks,
    Gene

    Got a quote from a CLA250 4matic MSRP $41395
Premium 1 and Multimedia package , sunroof , bi xenon headlight, spolier, luminated star, mountain grey

    36mths 10K miles
    0.00141 money factor, 66% residual

$475 monthly is their offer before tax/acquisition/bank charge

Good deal? Sure there is still room to bargain as he asked me to counteroffer so to keep me sign the car right the way.

I get the same that you do... But, the C300W4 has a special 27 month term, that uses the same terms as the 24 month lease... Go 27 months, and knock $40/mo. off...

But, I'm not sure that Mercedes will allow you the One-Pay discount, off of an already subvented money factor. They might... but, I doubt it.

Anyone has any luck to waive the destination and delivery fee?

Any quote you get should include destination... If it doesn't, then they are just playing with the numbers to make it seem cheaper.

How much of the $3K down is going to cap cost reduction? It's not a good idea to do that - if the car is stolen or totaled, then you are out that money.

MF is marked up a bit .. base MF for the C250 Coupe is .00103. If I use the base MF with your MSRP and selling price and the residual of 70%, I get a pre-tax payment of $533.83 with no money down. Adding in the $3K down would reduce your payment by over $100/mo.
