    4WD?

EX-L 53%. Subtract 1% for RES and 2% for NAV

    Touring - 49%

MF is .00037 and $1500 lease cash this month

The residual for 36mo, 15K/yr is 55%. I don't have the money factor information, but it is likely around .00160

Thanks Michelle . Also my dealer is saying there is $500 increase in MSRP. Have you heard anything about it. Also what will be good monthly lease price if I am not doing anything down except fees etc.

We would need both the MSRP and the negotiated selling price to model a payment.

    2015 Pilot EX-L 2WD 36/10 - 58% and .00113 MF. $1000 lease cash.

60 month leases are not good at all, and we don't recommend them.

Hello - I am about to lease a 2015 Pilot EX-L 4x4 with NAV for a 3/36 term. Would you please let me know what the money factor and residual should be? Also, I have talked the dealer down to $35,565 - is this a good price?

    Thank you!!!

    PURCHASE
    MSRP - $37,800.00
    INVOICE - $33,795.37
SALE PRICE - $31,545.00 (INVOICE MINUS THE $2250 REBATE)
    FREIGHT - $830.00
    DEALER PROCESSING - $300.00
    MD SALES TAX - $1,960.50
    TAG/TITLING - $331.00

TOTAL ON THE ROAD - $34,966.50

    LEASE
SALE PRICE - $31,545.00 (SAME AS THE PURCHASE PRICE)
    RESIDUAL - 53% FOR 15K OR 55% FOR A 12K

I confirm the MF and residual numbers for the Pilot EX-L AWD. However, when I plug in the MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $371.33/mo for 36 months.

Maryland, unfortunately, is one of a handful of states that taxes the entire purchase price on a lease. So, x% of the $31,545 amount is added in - that might account for the extra $100 or so that your dealer is quoting.

I'm getting $432.42/mo pre-tax with your numbers; 9% sales tax takes the payment to $471.34. Are there any adjustments to the price you've provided that might account for the difference? (it's about $450-500)

The $1000 you are giving them up front does not cover all the fees, which total over $1000, and the first payment of $483, so my guess is the balance is being added into the cap cost, thus increasing your payment.

I am shopping for a 2015 LX AWD in St. Louis Missouri and have collected both lease and purchase offers. The best purchase price I received is 27K + TTL and the best lease is $1999 (not including first month) and $250 + TTL a month for 36/12k miles. Total Monthly payment comes to $294. Wondering if the lease is a good deal considering the option to purchase at $27,000.

Hi, I'm new to the forum, not nearly as knowledgeable, please bear with me. Trying to make sure we're getting a good deal. We were going to buy a 2013 Pilot Touring 4WD with NAV & RES, but can lease a new one (2015) for pretty much the same price, and buy at the end. I can write off significantly more on a lease because of my business, so it's an attractive option; we will probably buy it at lease-end. However, we've never leased before, and I need some help deciding if this is a good offer, or if I should negotiate more. The end of the month is almost here, so we need to make a decision by Saturday. Your expertise is appreciated! Also, if you've leased recently, let me know what you paid :)

    36mo/12000mi
Money Factor .00100 (2.4% interest correct?)
Processing Fee: $219 (can I get this waived?)
    Plate Transfer/DMV: $114
Monthly Payments with NO money down: $489
Monthly Payments INCL Tax with No $ down: $516
    Residual: $21,675
    *Cap Cost: 39,279

    *RE: CAP COST
I calculated this myself, tell me if I'm wrong. 489 (pymt less taxes)*36mo=17604+21675 residual = $39,279
True Car says Target Price for a new Touring 4WD with RES/NAV is $39,313, so we're under that, unless I'm calculating this wrong. The sales person told me my Cap Cost was the $846 due at signing (1st mo pymt+fees). I think she misunderstood my question. I wanted to ask some questions here, before I call her again for clarification. I've been dealing with internet sales and told them to make me their best offer. It's a NO HAGGLE dealership, so I'm not sure how much wiggle room there will be.

Now, we are putting money down. Somewhere between $2500 and $4500, not sure yet. So the payments will be less. Our state only taxes the monthly payments @ 5.5%, so tax should go down a bit, as well.

What do I need to know? Good deal or bad deal? THANK YOU!

oh - also, she said Honda now includes Roadside Assistance, standard, in all leases. Is this true, or am I going to find a hidden fee in the contract?

Let's start with a couple of important numbers .. the money factor is indeed .00100 and the 36/12 residual on the Pilot Touring is 51%.

We do not recommend putting money down on a lease - it doesn't change your total cash outlay, and if the car is stolen or totaled during the lease, you lose that money.

Next, negotiate the best selling price you can .. there is both a Pilot Lease discussion and a Pilot Prices Paid discussion here at Edmunds. Read through the last few pages of both to see what others are paying. The lower the selling price you can negotiate, the lower the payment will be.

I've worked with no haggle dealerships in the past; there is very little, if any, room to bring down their price. Your best bet is to contact multiple Honda dealerships in your area and play them off against one another for the lowest price.

One other thing to consider .. the Touring trim level has the lowest residual of any Pilot. Could you live with an EX-L with RES (54% residual) or EX-L with NAV (53% residual) - lower transaction price and higher residual equates to a lower payment.

Thanks for the info! Some good points to consider, appreciate it. Overall, do you think the payments quoted (as is) are about right, or too high? I'll call some other dealerships, as well.

I've been looking for those discussions, but the one I found seemed to focus on 2014 leases. Can you link the threads for me?

Disregard the discussion title .. we'll be happy to answer questions about the 2015 model year as well.

If the MSRP is $42,500 and the selling price is $39,279, I get a pre-tax payment of $549.95. Of course, my calculations assume $0 cap cost reduction (down payment). Every $1000 down reduces your payment by about $28/mo.

Okay! So assuming nothing down, I am getting a pretty good deal? They offered me $489/mo pre-tax, which totals $2,194.20 less total than it would be at $549.95...

Did I calculate the offered selling price correctly? Should I post this in the lease forum for other insights?

THANK YOU! You've been very helpful!

Is the $2750 dealer cash incentive available nation wide on the 2015 Pilot? Can someone tell me about all the rebates/incentives available in Feb? I'm new to leasing. Thank you!

Okay, now I'm wondering if they were taking the dealer cash incentive into account as a down payment, if I'm correct in discovering that's the incentive for Feb. I'll have to negotiate a better selling price. That makes sense with the numbers as-is..

    The lease cash is nationwide.

Use the "Car Research" tab at the top of the page to link to the customer incentives.

The available lease cash can either be used to reduce the selling price (use it like a rebate) or it can help offset the upfront costs of a lease (first payment, acquisition fee, tags/license, etc.).

Can I take it as cash? I'm thinking it would be better to hold onto the cash and use it for monthly payments. Your point about not putting cash down in case of loss was great. Or is cash back only an offer if you purchase? Must be applied to cap cost/payments on a lease?

thanks. I have learned so much in the forums,  the last couple of days!
