Residual is 53% and MF is .00003, so with your MSRP and cost I get a pre-tax payment of $340.34.

    2014 fully loaded Maxima.
    Pirce = 37,087, discounted 2,575 = 34,512
    Residual = 52.6%
    12K miles, 39 months
    Not sure of MF
    434 month

    1) What should MF be?
    2) I think the discount of the car should be more, no?

SV Premium is 50% for 39/12 with a MF of .00003

Use the pricing tools at the top of the page to determine your target price. And, read back a page or two in this discussion to see what other folks are getting regarding discounts.

So I plan on going tomorrow to get a 2014 Nissan Maxima with the Sport & Tech package. I am curious what a good monthly payment would be with nothing down. This will be my first lease.

Okay, so I went to the dealer and the number I was given is $394/month(includes tax[in NY]) nothing down first month other then dmv bank and 1st month. I believe that equaled roughly $1,100. and it was 39/12.

    you're correct. I forgot a zero,

I got another deal from another dealer:

    - 2014 Maxima SV with Sport pkg
    - $1000 down
    - 12k/ year - 39 months
    - No idea what the MF or the residual are (done over the phone)
    - $325 a month
    - MSRP $36,280

    http://rothrocknissan.com/newnissancars/2014_Nissan_Maxima_Allentown_1N4AA5AP9EC442328.aspx

The salesman I spoke to was clueless. I am guessing that without knowing a whole lot about the MF and residual that they're good? What do you think?

Is this correct? Based on MSRP of $37,805 & a Cap Cost of $28,000 and no other fees, for a 39mo/15k payment with 6% tax = $259.02

    .00003 and 51% for 24/12 or 36/12. Subtract 1% for SV trim.

I believe the rebates will work with a lease ... we've seen some incredibly low lease payments for Maximas lately - the only way to get those is to get a hefty discount from sticker.

When you say incredibly low, what kind of monthly payments are you thinking of? What would you consider to be an incredibly low payment for an SV Sport with tech package on a 39/12K lease with no money down?

I ended up paying $399/month for 39/12k with nothing down the $399 includes the tax and tire and rim protection which is $15 a month of that payment. So it basically was $352/month before taxes.

IN THE $2999 DOWN MONEY, WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THAT AMOUNT THAT IF YOU DID NOT PUT DOWN MONEY WOULD STILL BE PAID AT SIGNING. FOR INSTANCE 1ST MONEY PAYMENT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT AMOUNT WOULD HAVE TO BE PUT BACK INTO THE FORMULA FOR EVALUATION.

It depends ... generally, the $2999 is considered "cap cost reduction" or down payment .. all of which is used to lower the monthly payment (about $83/mo on a 36 month lease).

There are other up front costs as well ... first payment, acquisition fee, tags or license, dealer fees.

I KNOW THAT THERE ARE OTHER ADDED COST AFTER THE 2999 DOWN BUT THE 2999 IS ALSO MADE UP OF 1ST MONTHS PAYMENT LEAVING 2730 TO BE ADDED BACK IN BUT THERE IS SOME OTHER PAYMENT(S) IN THE 2999 WHICH I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT SO THAT I CAN REFIGURE THE LEASE WITHOUT DOWN MONEY ACCEPT FOR 1ST PAYMENT, BANK ACQUISITION AND DEALER FEES. THAT IS ALL I EVER PUT DOWN AT SIGNING. WHEN I SOLD NISSAN THESE DOWN MONEY LEASES WERE NOT THE THING, BUT IT COULD BE SUGGESTED.

May I make a suggestion ... please disable the CAPS LOCK button. It looks like you are shouting.

Your dealer should be able to provide a complete breakdown of how the $2999 is applied - cap cost reduction, 1st payment, acquisition fee, etc. Some of these you can roll into the lease, others must be paid up front.

Hi - looking at a '14 maxima Sv sport with sport tech package to lease to help absorb some of my negative equity (value on my toyota TANKED) not sure it's a good idea. But willing to hear opinions. What are we looking at for a 48 month lease 10-12k a year?

Any my ideas on helping with my negative? I won't break even until just about I pay the car off

48 month lease is not competitive.

    39 month numbers are .00003 and 50% for 39/12.

The best way to address the negative equity is to find a car you can lease for a low cap cost relative to MSRP. You can get an Accord for under invoice, for example.

Every $1000 of negative equity will add about $28/mo on a 36 month lease.

I would recommend you check the "real World Trade in Values" discussion to see exactly how muh negative equity you have.

Thank you! I am a little ignorant toward the leasing; what exactly do you mean low cap cost toward the MSRP? I don't mind a higher payment to rid myself of this trap im in (within reason! Lol). I maintain about a 10k negative - As I pay my loan down my value goes down more. Can't even catch up.

The best way to get a low lease payment is to find a car with a high residual but a low selling price.

Lots of articles here at edmunds on the topic; use the "Car Research" tab to link to them.

Intrigued by the deals people are getting, I reached out to a couple of FL Nissan dealers. Two have come back essentially saying that the $4500 bonus cash is for purchase only, and that leases only have a $1950 incentive against them.

    Anyone else heard the same?

Intrigued by the deals people are getting, I reached out to a couple of FL Nissan dealers. Two have come back essentially saying that the $4500 bonus cash is for purchase only, and that leases only have a $1950 incentive against them.

    Anyone else heard the same?

We don't show any lease cash for Nissan .. use the "Car Research" tab at the top of the page to get the current incentives.
Ok, so this previous info (below) may not be correct, or maybe has just changed in the last couple of weeks?

To get to the $320-$350 number kyfdx referenced above, the sale price for a SV Sport + Tech has to be down around 31k for a 38.5k MSRP. The difference in what I'm getting back (~33.5k) and that 31k number is basically the difference in 4.5k bonus cash and the $1950 bonus cash they are saying is available.

Are the Customer Cash Rebate $4,000
Customer Bonus Cash* $500, applicable towards a LEASE? What are the MF and Residual for 24mo & 36mo and 12K miles?

    oops! S and SV models

I believe the rebates will work with a lease ... we've seen some incredibly low lease payments for Maximas lately - the only way to get those is to get a hefty discount from sticker.

Lease cash is factory to dealer incentives; the dealer can choose to pass it along to the customer. Rebates are factory to customer incentives that you are fully entitled to.

Can anyone give me a ball park of what lease payment I should expect for a Nissan Maxima SV with Premium and Tech Package, 12k miles/ 39 months, 0 down, Long Island has the worst dealers and I'm dreading this trip... Also does anyone have the MF and Residual for that trim?

Go to Legend Nissan in Syosset (I saw Joel) I had great success there. I don't know what the payment would be for that set up though its different then what I have.

Ok, so I think I'm getting there. Just not 100% sure I'm translating "lease cash" and "rebate" correctly to the language used in the Edmunds incentive research tab.

On the Incentives tab for the Maxima SV there is a "Customer $ Offer" and a "Leasing" incentive showing available. The "$ Offer" of $4500 is qualified with "available toward retail purchases". In this case, does that actually mean buy, not lease? Or is "$ Offer" a "rebate" that I'm entitled to regardless of purchase or lease?

If it's for purchase only, than the "Leasing" incentive of $1925 is the only incentive towards a Maxima SV lease?

available for retail purchases is the key phrase - that excludes leasing, in my opinion.
