Good evening... new to the forum but I have read through the posts here and you are exceptionally helpful! I'm looking at my first lease on a 2015 SLE-2, 12k/year 24 months, minimum down.
I have a TrueCar guarantee price of $28,982 on an MSRP of $30,620 plus a dealer rebate of $1700. They quoted me 36 months (because they don't listen well) at 0.56 residual and a MF of 1.8... $355.57/month
I asked for the 24 month, and they came back with a 3.6 (?!) MF, 0.65 residual for $396.03

I'm not sure where to start back with negotiation... I have to roll some negative equity from my existing car in (about $2K) so i'm expecting about $100/month impact from that. I am good with up to $500/month. I'd like to get it closer to $450. Think I have any wiggle room anywhere (besides the trade-in)?

The GM numbers we have expire today; new numbers will be released tomorrow and we hope to have them as soon as possible.

For the Terrain, I'm showing a 24 month, 12K miles per year MF as 3.6% and 67% residual with $1000 lease cash. 65% is the 15K residual (guess they still aren't listening).

With your MSRP and selling price, I calculate a $0 down pre-tax payment of $360.20.

As you've pointed out, the negative equity of $2000 will add about $83/mo to your payment. Then there is sales tax; that is determined by what state you live in.

You can use the pricing tools at the top of the page to help you determine what a good selling price should be.

Also, check out the "Real World Trade in Values" discussion here at Edmunds; we have an expert with access to auction info that will give you a pretty good idea of what your trade is worth - you might find you have less negative equity than you think (or what the dealer is telling you!).

2015 numbers only - 1.70% and 68% for 24/12. Add 2% for 12K. $1500 lease cash.

Hi, just leased a 2015 SL1 in Sunrise FL. 24 mos./10k miles. $143/month with 0 down.

Gross Cap cost $26,438 ($25843 MSRP +595 Acquisition fee)
rebates/incentives $4,250 (turned Explorer that was at end of lease)
cap cost $22,188
residual $19,239
money factor = .0004545

i paid up front
$152.22 (incl tax) first month
$255 interest on $4,250 rebates/incentives
$350 tag/title (will get refund wont be $350..probably more like $250 based on explorer lease)
$649 doc fee
$60 Florida charge
$8.50 tire fees
$110 - Dealer admin fees

total fees were $1,634...I felt this was high, so I negotiated down to $1,450, but still felt like I was getting "fee'd" to death. The lease felt like a good deal (im sure because of the high residual, but I'm not going to argue - wont be buying at lease end), but did i pay too much in fees, or could i have done better overall??

It looks great... .why so much tax upfront? Is that tax on a rebate? Seems high, even for that?

It looks great... .why so much tax upfront? Is that tax on a rebate? Seems high, even for that?</blockbuster

What am I missing? I'm coming up with a payment of $277 using those numbers??

Looking to lease 2015 SLE1 AWD for 24 months 10k miles a year. Can you tell me what the residual and MF are on this car. Located in NY. What are the incentives this month? Any conquest cash?(2nd household lease is a Honda). I'm currently leasing a 2013 Chevy Traverse (with ally) and have 3 months left. Might be looking to get out of the lease early if the deals are great.

I am from NY and looking to get the 2015 GMC Terrain. Can you help provide the MF and RV from Ally and GM Financial for 24/36 month with 15k miles? I assume those do not change based on the trim level.
I ask for both because Ally has a $1300 lease cash incentive. Also I noticed there is conquest cash available, do you know if that is available if i use Ally financial?

All Terrain trim levels have the same numbers .. .00040 and 59% for 36/12. $1300 lease cash.

These are GM Financial numbers.

Hey all! Second post now, because I wanted to report back on the deal I ended up with! Dealerships are REALLY wanting to move these Terrain's right now!

I bought at dealership here in PA.

AWD SLT-1 in Iridium Metallic w/ Chrome Wheels and the Open Road Package. MSRP: $36,300.

$1000 down payment. I don't have the full breakdown, but tax here is 6%, other incentives were: Auto Show ($500), GM lease loyalty of $1500, Ally repeat lessee incentive ($250), and whatever else they put in there too.

Also, I had 5 payments left on my Buick Verano lease, and they waived all 5 at $258/mo.

All in, with tax, I am paying: $279 even a month, 39 month lease, 12,000 miles a year.

I think I did quite well! Another dealership came in at $4 less a month, but I went with the closer dealership at a couple bucks extra a month.

Thoughts on the deal? Also, I tried to include a pic, but for some reason it is loading upside down!

GM had a TV Ad for $199/mo Terrain SLE1 lease with only $239 due at signing but I can't find this offer online. Online it says $2529 due at signing. Anyone else see the Ad or know where to find it?

It was a very difficult process as the dealers try to bait and switch, mark up the money factors, differ on residuals, include secret add ons, etc. Luckily we have about 50 GM and Chevy dealers around here so I drove to an honest one that was really looking to move a car.

10,000 mi/ yr

It would have only reduced the residual by 2% to get 15,000 mi/yr but I just don't drive much.

Any idea where they got the money factor of 0.000876 from? They swore to me that they didn't mark it up, but you said it was either 0.00055 or 0.0007 (1.32% / 1.7%) with GM Financial.

We only have the GM Financial numbers, but the dealer is free to use other banks to write leases.

Oh, I see - looks like the dealer marked up the MF to .000876. Which they are allowed to do. Probably to offset some of those hefty discounts you qualified for.

Thank you. Every Single dealer insisted the residual for the Terrain was 70% and I didn't think they can change that? I also looked at the Equinox and Chevy dealers were 50/50 71% and 70%.

The internet sales manager and finance gentlemen both promised me that they did not mark up the money factor from the Tier 1 level.

Residual is set by the bank and cannot be modified by the dealer.
