I have tried rain x, but I found you have to reapply it way too often. It "works" for a couple months but the quality of the effect degrades very quickly and doesn't do much after a couple weeks. I found some stuff called Water Armour (www.waterarmour.ca) and it works wonders! It does a lot more things than just bead water, too. It also protects from scratches, UV light damage to the interior, and some other stuff. It lasts for like a year, too. I would highly recommend it over rain x.

I just got some on my paint and it dissolved the clear coat and made the undercoat bubble up 5/6/2013.

    Hi all,

I just hit the side of the curb with slow speed. And there are some small damages to my right front tire. Curb chopped a small piece off, but it did not go through and the tire did not reshape. Before the hit my tires are in good condition (my car only has 20k miles on it). I attached several pic links for details (How to attach pics btw?). My question is do I need to change my tires? Any input will be much appreciated!

    Hi crichris,

You seem to be in the wrong topic here...this is about RainX products....but I'm going to direct you over to TIRES TIRES TIRES.

Just cut and paste your post and re-post it there. We'll see you over there to answer your question!

I have also been using Rain-X for many years and really like not having to use wipers when driving at any speed over about 35MPH.
But, something changed about a year ago and the 'new' Rain-X doesn't work worth [non-permissible content removed]. It seems to wipe right off when applied and doesn't last much more than a couple of weeks. Numerous emails to Rain-X asking what they did to the formula and whether I could buy the 'original' anywhere went unanswered so I assume they don't really care what the consumer thinks anymore. Bummer too, it WAS a good product... I don't buy it anymore. : (
