Hello - I understand that you have had issues with rust on the undercarriage of your GM vehicle?

I own a 2013 Chevy Silverado and a 2013 GMC Terrain. I have always been a fan of GM products, until now. My 2013 Silverado has just over 20,000 miles and just over 1.5 years old. The frame has SEVERE rust issues. The area in which I am particularly concerned about is the rust on the inner member (tube from left/right frame). The inner diameter of the tube is completely rusted over.

I contacted the dealership from which I purchased the truck and they have graciously agreed to pay for reworking the frame and re-applying the factory protectant. I don't believe this is a satisfactory solution. I asked them specifically how they would rework the inner member tube, and they couldn't offer an good answer. They simply said "well they can scrap the rust out with a pole or long rod and re-apply the protectant". This doesn't solve the problem.

What has your experience been on this issue?
