    regarding the acceleration shutdown. It could be the fuel pump. Because of the relationship w/Ford the Jags may have the same fuel pump which has been known to shut down in the heat of the day with a tank low on fuel. I had that happen to a mid 90s Sable wagon w/3L 6cyl. And also to a 99 Mazda APV 4x4 van 3.0 6cyl with the same fuel pump. You have to keep the tank half full to keep the fuel pump submerged in fuel to prevent the problem. If it persists you have to change the pump. A very costly & nasty job because you have to remove the tank to get at the pump.
