Honda CR-V Blown Engine?
Hello, I have a 2000 Honda V. It was overheating, so I put the car on a scanner and had no error codes. After checking the thermostat, radiator etc. and could find no problems. I decided to take the car to the local Honda dealer (used cars only). I live in Key Largo and have no other options. Anyway, they looked at the car and said that the engine is blown. Now I am no tech, but I drove the car there and it was running fine, in fact it did not overheat on the way there.
Anyone have any insight?
Thanks, Ben

Are you losing coolant?
Do you get white smoke in the exhaust?
Most likely what you have is a malfunctioning thermostat or cooling fan relay or fan itself.
If anyone ever added a non-Honda coolant there is a chance that the water pump has been ground down by the silicates in non-honda coolants.
