Lexus GS Side Mirrors do not stay set

I have a 2006 GS300. My side mirrors need to be set everytime I get into the car. Dealer informs me that each mirror must be replaced at a cost of $700 each. WOW! they are proud of these mirrors. I cannot believe a car only 3 years old would have a problem like this. Is anyone else experiencing a simular problem?

I had the same problem with my mirrors. One mirror was replaced under warranty but I stll had the same problem. Finally, it was determined that my key fob was malfunctioning thus causing the mirrors to move. Once this was determined and the fob was reprogrammed, everything started working fine. Hope this helps.

I also have a 2006 GS300. My left side mirror stopped working altogether one day. Luckily it was still under warranty. I'm not sure if this is related to your problem, but I have found that if my side mirrors are set to adjust pointing downward when placing the car in reverse (page 206 of the owner's manual), when the transmission is put into Drive, both mirrors usually do not go back into the exact original position. To prevent this from happening, I turn this function off. I don't really need the mirrors to adjust downward.

In most cases I would think this is caused by the memory settings being paired to the wrong key.
