Check Engine Light

2005 Denali 6.0L K&N filter/intake.

Check engine light is sporadic. Comes on during long trips. Loss of power. Step on the gas and vehicle doesn't want to shift or Pull through the gears. Easy driving it shifts fine and accelerates up to 80 mph just fine. Worried about towing a trailer when I move. Any suggestions?

K & N filter has completely F.U.B.A.R.'d my vehicle with various different MAF fault codes. Having the MAF sensor cleaned and my Injector system flushed as we speak. Got a quote to replace my Air Intake system back to stock..... 281.00. Think I will look elsewhere. Only has 48,000 miles on the damn thing. Nothing but trouble these days.

Had an alphabet soup of Fault Codes related to the MAF sensor. Directly related to the K & N Cold Air Intake. Had a fuel injection clean/flush and MAF Sensor Cleaned.

281.00 w/ diagnostics.

269.00 quoted for new STOCK Air Intake System w/ Filter.

Hi Matt,
I have an 04 Yukon SLT with a voltec air intake system. For the past year I have dealt with the exact same issue as you.
My symtom seems be possible related to a vacuum but the symtoms you give might be correct.
Mine is very randomly and happens when drawing more power on long drives. AC, radio, DVD. I am in the same situaion and my mechanic shop says it might be the iginitaion swich. I have yet to take it to the main dealer as they charge an arm for a diag and I trust my shop but wondering if you got the issue resolved. I still have my orginal parts to the air filter.

I have really been impressed with my vehicle since the Mass Air Flow Sensor was addressed. The dealership did charge an awfull lot however, they did do exactly what they were hired to do! The sensor was soo dirty it fouled my fuel injection system because it was running too lean. Had an injector flush and MAF sensor cleaned and it is running great. Have put over 5500 miles on it so far and NO problems and increased pulling power, fuel milage and piece of mind.
