99 Alero flooding?

I have owned this car for 4 years and it has always had its problems. Now, it seems to have started flooding? It will start fine when it is cold but once warm it has a hard time starting. It cranks fine but just has a hard time til you floor the car and then it spits out fuel smoke. Once started it idles rough and acts like it wants to die sometimes and you have to gas it to keep it running. Once on the road and driving it is fine until you stop again and you are at idle. It is also losing water somewhere and the leak cannot be found. Anyone have any ideas what i can check so i can get this thing running right again? Thanks.

Sounds like you have an internal coolant leak. That would explain all of your symptoms. It may not be "flooding" as you think, but coolant in the cylinders that is causing it to run rough at times or die out. If this is the case then your going to destroy the engine if it's leaking internally that bad.
