Where the heck are the 2011s?
I just read an article on edmunds posted last month about 2012 Mazda5s going up for sale in a month or two from now. However, every local dealership and even mazdausa is still talking about the 2010. This is very strange to me because:
1) Was there ever a 2011 Mazda5?
2) With the next year coming out (whatever it happens to be), why hasn't MazdaUSA started touting it?
I've never heard of a car not discontinued skipping a year, if that's what this is really doing.

Don't ask, but there is somewhere in the industry that indicates that if you actually start selling the new car during the first months of the earlier year you can call it a 2012 model year. I guess it is a good trick to keep on selling your leftover 2010s while keeping the overall used car value of the incoming model in the future (who doesn't like a newer model ;-))
As an example you might have noted that the 2011 Sienna started selling in February 2010 :surprise:
